It’s A Numbers Game

by

A whole bunch of numbers are coming out today, but one in particular stands out: as you read this, the US Debt will have reached $15 TRILLION for the first time in history. While Obama is hanging out in Hawaii on the links with his prostitute-seeking-and-busted-by-an-undercover-cop friend, complaining about Americans being lazy (the hypocrisy on that one alone is staggering), our debt will have gone through the ceiling.

Meanwhile, the Super Committee has reached no decisions, and the US Senate has failed to pass a budget in 930 days. That is about 2 1/2 years that they have failed to craft and pass any kind of real budget with an eye to cutting back. Nope, nothing. Thanks, Harry – what a great leader you are. Oh, and while I am on the Senate, perhaps they can look at the 22 Jobs Bills the House has sent their way. Just a suggestion.

But the numbers don’t stop there. Here’s another number for you: 11/3/10. That would be the date the Obama Administration’s DOE apparently wanted Solyndra to wait for its announcement of layoffs. Yep, they wanted to hold that little piece of information until after the elections to help skew them. Nice. Another date to bear in mind is: 11/17/11. That is when Secretary Chu will be facing the music in front of the Senate about all of the Solyndra machinations.

Speaking of Solyndra, fully 80% of the Stimulus money for Green Energy went to Obama donors. That’s EIGHTY percent of our dollars. Here are just a few examples from “Throw Them All Out,” Schweizer’s new book: Bright Source Venture Partner raked in a $1.6 Billion loan, and its Senior Adviser is Robert Kennedy, Jr. Obama’s current Deputy Assistant, Michael Froman, bundled $200,000 – 500,000, and for his efforts, not only did he get a job in the White House, but the company for which he had been COO received a tidy loan in the amount of $737 million dollars. Then there is Nancy-Ann DeParle, White House Deputy Chief of Staff. Before her WH job, she was the Managing Director of CCMP Capital, and the company for which she was a majority owner, Granite Reliable Wind Generation, received $168.9 million in our tax dollars. Yep, Obama’s bundlers have made out like bandits with our money.

Of course, these little paybacks with our money fly in the face of yet another promise broken by Obama, also highlighted in the book, “Throw Them All Out”:

When President-elect Obama came to Washington in late 2008, he was outspoken about the need for an economic stimulus to revive a struggling economy… After he was sworn in as president, he proclaimed that taxpayer money would assuredly not be doled out to political friends…

…But an examination of grants and guaranteed loans offered by just one stimulus program run by the Department of Energy, for alternative-energy projects, is stunning. The so-called 1705 Loan Guarantee Program and the 1603 Grant Program channeled billions of dollars to all sorts of energy companies…

…In the 1705 government-backed-loan program [alone], for example, $16.4 billion of the $20.5 billion in loans granted as of Sept. 15 went to companies either run by or primarily owned by Obama financial backers—individuals who were bundlers, members of Obama’s National Finance Committee, or large donors to the Democratic Party. The grant and guaranteed-loan recipients were early backers of Obama before he ran for president, people who continued to give to his campaigns and exclusively to the Democratic Party in the years leading up to 2008. Their political largesse is probably the best investment they ever made in alternative energy. It brought them returns many times over.

Uh huh. That seems to be all Obama has done – reward his donors with our money, and with cushy White House jobs to boot. It’s a Numbers Game, alright, but with Obama at the helm, the numbers just ain’t adding up.

Check that – the numbers have added up, but way too much. In just three short years, $4 trillion in debt has been accrued under Obama’s “leadership.” Those are numbers, and leadership, we can do without…

the same thing happened with crawdad hole and uppity woman

In trying to access one of my favorites, IOWNTHEWORLD, the site won’t load. When I did get on, Big Fur Hat said something about on-going server problems. I know that the Occupee’ers were planning something for the 17th of Nov. and that there have been some stuff bubbling up about cyber attacks. That wouldn’t surprise me at all.

    • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

That’s weird, Helenk, and no, I didn’t – probably because I linked directly to the blog from a comment notice. But even when I went to login, I didn’t have a problem. Hmmm – I wonder if it was some kind of attack on WordPress?

    • hc123 Says:

I dont get a warning, maybe it is a TrendMicro issue? Have you tried updating that product? I am running AVG on one Win7 machine and Avira on another – and Norton (ick) on my Mac, and ClamAV on my Linux box. I dont have an issue or warning from any of them. And yes, I am a tech nerd.

    November 17
the day the owies in NYC are planning big doings. I wonder if that day was picked to drown out any testimony about solayndra.

    • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

Oh, good grief – I am so sick of those people and their destructive ways. They are not trying to operate in the country’s best interests – they are just using this as an opportunity to act with impunity, or so it seems…

      • AbigailAdams Says:

Amy, you know that most of this is according to plan, right? The reason they can act with impunity is because of all the direct relationships to obama and his czars, including the unions. As the truth of the Dept of Energy continues to be exposed it seems that story will totally eclipse even Operation F&F and the DoJ. Why there is no call in the House for this president’s impeachment is the most surprising thing of all.

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

AA, that would not surprise me one bit. And yes, these unions and czars have really gotten out of hand. I heard that Obama has more czars than Russia did in all the time they had czars. Isn’t that insane?

And you know I think the unions have gotten out of control, especially as my state has had to fight to keep its Boeing jobs…

I don’t know why they haven’t called for his impeachment, either, though I imagine that would galvanize Obama’s minions…

      • AbigailAdams Says:

I think obama’s minions are disappearing, though. There was a story on Brietbart about that. Yesterday I looked up how many czars obama has and where they’ve been appointed and unconfirmed by the senate. I found what looks to be a complete listing from Wikip, but it’s not completely up-to-date. Look at the list of presidents and which party has the most. It’s quite interesting. Also, notice that czars do not go through senate confirmation. It’s quite telling, I think, that Bush II’s unconfirmed czars (and the number of them) marks a turning point in modern political history. This is one of the big reasons we’re in the mess we’re in. The R base was just fed up and disgusted enough to cross over to the Ds in 2008. I know a list exists that show all obama’s czars’ ties to various left-wing orgs.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._executive_branch_czars

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

AA, that’s the whole thing abt these czars – there is NO confirmation,a nd NO oversight of them – they can do as they please, while getting paid a mighty nice salary, I might add. It is reprehensible that so much of our daily government is being run by people who were neither elected nor confirmed. Something seriously wrong with this practice.

I sure hope you are right abt Obama’s minions, but they sure seem to be rearing their heads of late. Perhaps the OWS movement inspired them …

    • AbigailAdams Says:

      Another non-surprise, huh?

I’m just now tuned-in to FNC and they are going over all the WH biggies who are materially enriched and directly involved with not just Solyndra but a number of other “green” power start-ups.

If the corporate media don’t cover this…..

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

Yes, the list just seems to keep growing and growing. Heck, one source reported on the number of plum positions and money forked over by Obama to his supporters back in JUNE (the link is above in the article, but I can find it again if anyone wants it).

Seems Schweizer’s book is really helping to bring all of this out to the fore…

  3. AbigailAdams Says:

It occurs to me that one of the biggest storie this week should be a metaphor for what has been happening in D.C. for the past 30 years. I think we should join in a class suit against the federal government, the cochroaches who are finally showing themselves. And like those passengers on that airplane, the cochroaches have “caused great distress to a number of passengers and we have been rendered sick.”

Who hasn’t thought of the government and all it’s well-connected cronies when watching the cochroaches emerge from that light can on the airplane?

  4. hc123 Says:

I attended yet another DC dinner party with my other half. My god these people are delusional. They STILL blame Bush for every single negative indicator.

I hope the rest of the country has more sense than these folks.

    • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

Oh, but of course, after three years of Obama doling out our money like candy it’s Bush’s fault. Naturally.

      Sheesh…

    • AbigailAdams Says:

“I hope the rest of the country has more sense than these folks.”

We have, hc123. I think it’s because we also have a lot less money — taxpayer and otherwise — than DC. It’s true — the highest per-capita incomes are in DC and Maryland right now.

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

One has to hope indeed. And not only does DC have a bunch of money, but DC gets the most taxpayer money of any state in the nation, almost $12,000 per capita.

      • hc123 Says:

Its like something out of an Ayn Rand novel. I remember pretending to read Atlas Shrugged in college so I could trash talk it with the rest of my friends. I finally read it about a decade ago and I have to say it really didnt say what they told me in school. I actually liked it.

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

LOL, hc, you are too funny! I haven’t read it, and guess I should. I should also rent the movie…But yes, I know just what you mean! :-)

      • hc123 Says:

Its super long! Maybe its good for the days you just want to sit down with a book ALL DAY.
The movie was OK as well. But its imcomplete as of now, it will be in 3 parts. Thats how long it is. I recommend the book.

Oh, didnt you have a lib PT person? Be sure he or she sees you reading it ;)

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

LOL, oh, that would have been hilarious! Thankfully, though, I have been RELEASED from PT! Woohoo!!!!! Thanks for the suggestion, though, I appreciate it.

If the fools go to Penn Station in the AM rush hour they will get run over by commuters.
    Into that building alone

subway – New Jersey Transit trains – Amtrak trains – Long Island trains – Metro North trains

People watching there during rush hour , you see some amazing sights

    • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

Well, I hope there are a whole bunch of Transit cops waiting to arrest each and every one of them.

This is the thing abt the OWS – they INTENTIONALLY try to disrupt people’s lives, and infringe upon the rights of others. That is a far cry from exercising First Amendment rights.

Oh, good grief. Such a HUGE waste of money. And all to benefit the unions so they can benefit Obama. It’s all circular he pays them, they pay him, and fight for his election/re-election. All with OUR money, I might add.

CNN – really – what happened to them? They used to be somewhat decent.

      I really hate this stuff.

In Saudi Arabia throughout December the religious police run around confiscating red things, things in the shape of a T or X and green things too near red things (green = color of islam btw)

I am so glad that his country is following in their awesome steps.

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

Holy crap, that is incredible. And yeah., sooooo glad we are following in those footsteps. Seriously, this PC-ness has just gone way too far. In an effort to be PC, we end up infringing on the rights of others!

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Breeze! So good to see you, friend! You have been so missed at NQ!

And thank you – yes, my ortho is pleased with my progress, and said I was way above the curve for my range of motion. Still not painfree by any stretch (and he warned me I would have good/bad days for a while – unfortunately, today is one of the latter), but it is already better than it had been, so I am happy.

      So nice to *see* you!

  12. Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

I just have to tell y’all that I just got an email from Union saying that Cornel West is going to join the faculty (again). Some of y’all know that he was my professor at Union, and I had a number of classes with him. Had he stayed at Union, I would have done my doctoral work under him (and some of the folks who have been mentioned in conjunction with Obama’s church were my Teacher’s Assistants while at Union).

Anyway, just thought that was interesting considering how much he has been coming up in conversation of late. He WAS a big Hillary supporter before he switched to Obama, and now seems upset with Obama…

    • hc123 Says:

Frankly Cornell West seems to be so upset with everything that I cannot tell how he feels about much. It would certainly have been interesting to do doctorate work with him! How is he as a professor? I have only seen him on TV.

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

He was fantastic – brilliant man, funny, and kind. Now, though, he seems a bit “out there” to me. Of course, then, I was a far left leftie, but still – he seems a bit more muddled in his message now.

      • hc123 Says:

I was a far left leftie too. I think lots of us were. But when I started to examine my preconceptions without hostility and actually looked at the facts I could not stay that way. The platform of the left actually makes no sense to me (fuck the man! eat the rich! give me some money! make more regulations!). I think the Milton Friedman Phil Donahue debates really are an excellent “see both sides, see one doesnt make sense” case study and should be shown to college students everywhere.

      • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy Says:

I agree, hc. I admit, it took me awhile – not that I didn’t see red flags waving, but since I had been taught that Republicans were evil, I just had to ignore them. Well, you know 2008 changed all of that. I simply could not ignore them any longer. Not only did I accept that the DNC had been using women, and LGBT people, as pawns, claiming to be so supportive and using sticks to keep us in line (like Roe v Wade), but I saw how horribly women were actually treated, how dishonest so many of them were, and all of that that you know.

Ironically, I was always a law and order type, who supported the military. No doubt, it was growing up in the South – you know, it would just be rude to break the law. Ahahahahahaha…Ahem.
