The Commonwealth of Virginia Electors Have Lost Their Minds *Open Thread*

Tuesday night, Eric Bolling mentioned something at the very end of the show I simply could not believe. I had to research it immediately. Sure enough, he was absolutely right. I was shocked. Stunned. And downright infuriated, I have to say.

Why? Because earlier this month, the Legislature of Virginia commended the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Rivercommendation for the following:

[…] WHEREAS, founded in 1983, the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center traces its roots to a house in Falls Church that was chosen for its proximity to the Washington, D.C., metro area and its thriving Muslim community; construction on the current facility began in 1986 and it opened in 1991; and

WHEREAS, the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center works to strengthen the Muslim faith in the region through seminars, sermons, lectures, social activities, and clear operational hours for the observance of daily prayer; and

WHEREAS, encouraging the members of the Muslim community to become productive members of society, the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center promotes cooperation, tolerance, and mutual understanding among different faiths; and

WHEREAS, the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center conducts outreach in the community, offering educational classes and making charitable donations to those in need; and

WHEREAS, the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center is affiliated with the Muslim American Society, a national religious, educational, cultural, and charitable organization; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; {…] (Click here to read the rest.)

What’s so bad about this bit of ecumenism, encouragement for a religious organization involved in its community? Well, this isn’t just ANY Islamic Center. This is why I find this staggering. From Investors:

[…] The Saudi Embassy-funded, Muslim Brotherhood-owned mosque is universally known by federal and local law enforcement — and even the media — as a turnstile for terrorists. Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan once worshipped there, and the 9/11 hijackers who led the Pentagon attack got help there with housing and IDs.

Al-Qaida cleric Anwar Awlaki preached there. He stepped down after the feds connected him to the hijackers. Even so, the mosque tried to hire him back.

After 9/11, investigators found the fax number for Dar al-Hijrah in the Hamburg, Germany, apartment of one of the planners of the attacks — Ramzi Binalshibh, now a Gitmo detainee. Dozens of other terrorist links dating to the early 1990s trace back to the tree-shrouded mosque in Falls Church, Va.

“Almost no other mosque in the country has been linked to so many cases of alleged terrorism,” the Washington Post wrote in 2011.[…] (Click here to read the rest.)

THAT is why I am just appalled that the Virginia Legislature has handed this Islamic Center a tremendous amount of gravitas. This Center is inextricably connected to the Muslim Brotherhood. That is PRECISELY to whom the Muslim American Society (MAS) is inextricably connected:

[…]Amid all this boilerplate bloviating, the resolution also notes that “the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center is affiliated with the Muslim American Society,” which it describes as “a national religious, educational, cultural, and charitable organization.”

These legislators no doubt have no idea of what the Chicago Tribune reported in 2004: that the Muslim American Society is the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S.

In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation’s major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.

Confirming this is Ikhwanweb, the Muslim Brotherhood’s English website, which now carries that article. Shaker Elsayed, the mosque’s imam from 2005 to the present, was Secretary General of the Muslim American Society.v[…] (Click here to read the rest.)

Yep, the MAS is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, as this Weekly Standard article highlights, “MAS’s Muslim Brotherhood Problem.” Except it seems to be OUR problem now.

How in the WORLD could this have happened in VIRGINIA? How could this Center connected with the 9/11 terror attack on our country, and at the PENTAGON, received this kind of commendation? Well, when I saw this story, it became a little clearer to me, “Muslim Brotherhood-tied Activist To Host Fundraiser For Dem. Rep. Connelly“:

A Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated activist whose organization recently came under fire for holding an anti-Semitic rally in support of ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi will head a fundraiser for Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia.

U.S.-based Muslim Brotherhood allies Akram Elzend and Sameh Elhennawy will co-host a fundraiser for Connolly later this month at the Fairfax residence of Mohamed Mohamed, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Attendees of the March 22 fundraiser are asked to donate between $150 and $400 in order to attend the event, where supporters will have a chance to “express appreciation and have direct conversation with” Connolly, according to the invitation.[…] (Click here to read the rest.)

Are you kidding me with this??

As many of you know, I have written extensively about the Muslim Brotherhood even before the uprising in Egypt (“Questions About Obama And The Muslim Brotherhood Lead To More Questions,” among others). As a reminder, their two basic tenets are to wage jihad against the United States and Israel. Yes, their intent is to destroy us from within, what they refer to as “civilization jihad.

That is why their connections in our government now are staggering, including a connection noted in the “Questions” post about Rep. Keith Ellison, (D-IL) going to Mecca on a trip sponsored by – wait for it – MAS. And so it should be no surprise the depths of involvement of the Muslim Brotherhood in Illinois politics, as this article highlights, “Illinois State Government’s Muslim Brotherhood Love Affair.” That is the tip of the iceberg, though, considering this claim: Allen West: Muslim Brotherhood ‘Infiltrated’ Obama Administration.

Uh, yeah. That about says it all, doesn’t it? I’d say the MB have been pretty damn successful in their “civilization jihad” plan.

This is not about Islamophobia. Let’s be clear on that. This is about terrorism, plain and simple. And it is about the apparent willingness of Americans to allow this terrorist organization to gain a major foothold in this country. That scares the crap out of me.

How about you?

Why oh why are we attacking Christianity and lifting Islam up? That’s a redundant and rhetorical question, I know, but I just don’t understand the lack of logic here. Christians are perceived as giant oppressors, Muslims are perceived as the persecuted who must be backed up with government support. All the things that people complain about Christianity doing, promoting, advocating, just pale in comparison to the horrors currently being done in the name of Islam, all over the world.

It truly is astonishing, Insanity. The same people who are all a twitter over these people, think they are SO wonderful, and cozy up to them are the SAME PEOPLE who are screaming for Gay Rights, Women’s Rights, etc., etc.

Like the Minneapolis police chief a friend mentioned on Facebook last night who participated in the whole “wearing the hijab for a day” thing. Does she have ANY CLUE how Islamists treat lesbians and gay men? Any clue at ALL?? What a freakin’s sell out, but even more, what an IDIOT that she would show support for a religious belief that treats women as less than dirt, and KILLS gay people. (Here’s the link to the article:

But when our OWN GOVERNMENT allows in an organization whose SOLE AIM is to destroy us, that is treasonous. I see no other way around it. Every single one of these people in gov’t, from Obama on down, who have consorted with the Muslim Brotherhood, MAS, CAIR, etc., are guilty of aiding and abetting our enemies.

  2. Katherine B. Says:

Right on, Amy!!!!!!! It seems to me that some women will forever be complicit in their own repression.

I had a Saudi student staying with me once, as I was a host family for international students, and he told me he was going to visit a friend for dinner. When he returned I asked him about his evening and he told me he had a nice dinner and he told me about his friend’s family. I asked him what the guy’s wife was like and he said he didn’t know because he didn’t meet her. She was in the house and had prepared the meal but wasn’t “allowed” to meet the strange man. It’s not the worst story of repression but I think it is indicative.

As far as the hijab is concerned…I can’t stand it. These people have come here to live and they can damn well adopt our customs. In this country we do NOT cover our women on the off chance the sight of them might stimulate some man to uncontrollable sexual urges.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

      Thanks, Katherine. You said it!

And what an astonishing story abt the young man. That truly is indicative, isn’t it? And it just begs the question: WHY are so many liberal women in this country so willing to just accept that? Or in Minneapolis, to play at being repressed beyond sanity?

I think I mentioned when we went to Egypt back in 2009 (before all of the insanity, thank heavens) my experience seeing a woman in hijab for the first time. Our tour guide wore a hair covering, but that was all. In Egypt at that time, that was all that was expected.

Anyway, we were in the National Museum when I saw them, a group of women in full hijab. It was STUNNING, and not in a good way. I mean, it literally took me aback. It completely obliterates any semblance of humanity with the exception of their eyes. That’s it. That’s all you can see, unless they have mesh over those, too. It was truly staggering to me. I can’t even describe the effect it had on me adequately to see these women like that.

But to make matters worse, when I asked our tour guide abt it, she said the hijab was not worn by many Egyptian women, that they were either for some other country or – wait for it – making a FASHION statement. A FASHION statement. WTH???

      Great comment, Katherine.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Agree with everything you said Katherine! Here’s a cartoon I happened to see this morning that reinforces you POV. And mine.

  3. Katherine B. Says:

I just saw a story about Michele Obama’s trip (junket) to China with her daughters and mother and who knows how many staff. Apparently the American news media have been excluded. The MSM, which I am now calling the Lap Dog Media, will probably yelp a bit then roll over and play dead.

Why don’t they just dispatch their reporters and photographers anyway? Why don’t report on how much this is costing the American tax payer? Have they forgotten that the news media does not serve at the pleasure of the President?

  4. Katherine B. Says:

Guess who said this about whom. “Obviously, he may be wrong about many things, but he has taken a stand to protect his nation’s children from the damaging effects of any gay and lesbian agenda.”

That was Franklin Graham in praise of Putin. Some things, i.e. gay rights, are apparently worse than invading another country and seizing its territory.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh my. Dang, Katherine. That is unbelievably telling. Holy smokes.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I ususlly have great respect for Billy Graham. Franklin? Not much.

Franklin is the kind of narrow-minded religious leader than drives people from the church if not from God.

We are ALL God’s children and a religious zealot like Graham forgets that at peril of his own soul.

A Facebook friend had the following link at his page. That this group started in Berkeley I guess is not that surprising, but that it is linked to HAMAS is:

  6. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Dana Perino just said on “The Five” that she was going to give the VA Legislature a break on this whole issue. Her point was that they may very well have done a lot of work over the past decade to improve their image, and that just because there were some bad people who came out of there, that doesn’t mean they are all bad.

Uh huh. Okay. I hear her point. BUT – they CHOSE to have people like Anwar Al-Awlaki preach there, among others. That was a CHOICE. It was a CHOICE to help the 9/11 hijackers with IDs and places to stay. So, yeah, they may be trying to improve their image, but that does NOT mean they have changed their stripes. One need look no further than their MAS connection to demonstrate that. IMHO, that is. But thanks for playing, Dana…

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Quote often I am goshwoggled by Dana Perino. Sometimes she seems to smart and so focused and others – well to be kind she seems incredibly naive.

I watched very little of The Five recently because like everyone else they are obsessed with the missing plane.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I feel the same way, Marge. The other day, she went OFF on Bob for being so ill-prepared all of the time. No kidding. But it was something to see her frustration with him.

But then to essentially defend this Center, and act as if there were only a few bad apples so we shouldn’t demonize them was something. As my partner said, even if that was true, that there were only a few bad ones, the Commonwealth didn’t have to COMMEND them, either. No kidding.

ever get the feeling that the dems are waging undeclared war on American citizens?

    think about it
    embrace those who attacked us

undermine our economic system.. ben laden would have been thrilled with the obamacare idea.

encourage law breaking by their actions on illegal aliens

encourage racism by using the word falsely against a large section of the American public

Divide the people by class warfare

lower the expectations of our young to fulfill the American dream

cheat our young our young out of a decent education to prepare them for the future

government over regulation that creates job loss

this is a list of some of things I am seeing in this government today

  8. helenk3 Says:

this is a win for American citizens not just one political party

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Absolutely, this is a big win for American citizens. Thank you for this good news, Helen!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I would imagine that the Dems are already out “Judge” shopping to overturn this judge’s decision. Or Holder’s corrupt DOJ could just tell people to ignore the ruling.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

No doubt, Marge. Living in a state that was targeted by the DOJ for Voter ID, I don’t put ANYTHING past him…

      Great News 🙂

  9. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Just an FYI – we are heading down to FL this afternoon for a long weekend. My partner has a client there, and then tomorrow night, we get to see my beloved Yankees. Specifically, we get to see my beloved Derek Jeter in his last year as a Yankee before retiring.

I will likely get a post up tomorrow, assuming there’s something OTHER than the whole plane thing to report (ahem), or at least to put up a Weekend Open Thread. Just a notice that by mid-afternoon, I’ll be traveling…

Hope everyone is having a good day!

      Yes, this is dangerous indeed…

Roflmao, that is too funny! Cannot beat the “black hole” comment of one of the speculators (on MSNBC, I think), though! Heck, I would prefer Dumbledore’s opinion in a heartbeat! 🙂
