How Mad Is “Madder Than Hell”? Still Shaking… *Open Thread*

Oh, yes, Obama’s “Madder than Hell!” demeanor is still making headlines, and not just by me (like my post on Monday, “Madder Than Hell…“). Nope, plenty of writers are on this bandwagon. I mean, really, how could we not be? Especially since the “madder than hell”-ness hasn’t amounted to a hill of beans.

But I am getting ahead of myself. Thanks to a Facebook friend, I have to share this perfect post from Free Beacon, “Is Obama Really ‘Madder Than Hell’ Over VA Scandal?” Consider this observation from this Editorial:

How did the president express his “madder than hell” attitude? According to the Associated Press, he went golfing at a really nice country club:

President Barack Obama departed from his usual golf routine on Saturday by taking his clubs to an exclusive course in Northern Virginia. Obama usually plays his standard weekend golf game at Andrews Air Force Base or at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.

But on Saturday the president and his three companions teed off instead at the elite Robert Trent Jones Golf Clubon the shores of Lake Manassas in Gainesville, Virginia. The club, where membership is by invitation only, has played host to four Presidents Cup tournaments since it was established in 1991.

Maybe he was taking out his anger on little Mr. Titleist?

Oh, SNAP!! Way to show your “MADNESS,” President Obama!! That will really drive home the point to our veterans that you give a damn about how they are dying waiting for care. I am sure many of them spend their days the SAME way, going to exceedingly exclusive country clubs to play golf while waiting to see a doctor. Sure.

That must be what they really meant to say when a number of them, or their surviving family members, wrote in to Peter Johnson, Jr. relating their VA experiences:

Oh, yes. I am sure the man who has been waiting MONTHS to see someone after being diagnosed with Mesothelioma from serving in the Coast Guard really feels your support, President Obama. Oh, hell yeah – he can tell your mad. Ahem.

Okay, okay, perhaps I am being unfair to the President. After all, I have steadfastly refused to participate in Twitter. Facebook is more than enough “social media” for me. So maybe I just am not aware of the outrage Obama has expressed using 140 characters. Good thing the Free Beacon article has stayed current on that. Back to the article for a few Tweets and commentary from the Editorial:

[…] According to the very active White House Twitter feed, Obama was “madder” about some things last week … but not the VA scandal:

The White House ✔ @WhiteHouse
“If Congress fails to act, nearly 700,000 jobs would be at risk over the next year” —Obama on transportation funding:

11:30 AM – 18 May 2014

And he’s pretty “madder” about Brown v. Board of Education from 6 decades ago because … racism:

The White House ✔ @WhiteHouse
“We recommit ourselves to the long struggle to stamp out bigotry and racism.” —Obama on the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education

He’s definitely “madder” that it used to be illegal to have an abortion:

The White House ✔ @WhiteHouse
“My Administration remains dedicated to protecting women’s rights to make their own health care decisions.” —Obama:

But not a whole lot about the VA. If he got any madder, imagine what it would look like. He might even make a public statement. (Click here to read the rest of the Tweets from the White House and the Editorial.)

As you can see, he has far more pressing matters to be mad about, so I reckon the whole massive VA scandal will have to wait until he is done ranting about the much more meaningful issues on his plate. Ahem.

Oh, and speaking of scandals, here’s a fun fact: yet another one of Obama’s cronies has been arrested on charges of fraud. But this one is ESPECIALLY fun because SHE helped former HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebellius hoodwink some of our fellow citizenry with the debacle that is Obamacare. And seriously, for anyone who has any doubt whatsoever how crappy this is going to be for us, just look at what is happening RIGHT now with the VA. More on that in a moment, but back to the fraudulent crony:

[…] A Democratic mayor who appeared alongside U.S. Health and Human Services Sec. Kathleen Sebelius earlier this year to promote Obamacare has been charged with wire fraud in connection with an $8 million mortgage scheme.

Lucie Tondreau, who has been marred by scandal since she was elected mayor of North Miami last year, will be charged in the conspiracy alongside three other suspects.

According to the indictment, between 2005 and 2008, Tondreau conspired with the president of a South Florida mortgage company to recruit straw borrowers to obtain mortgages.

The fraudulent loans were made for 20 properties.

In February, Tondreau, North Miami’s first Haitian-American mayor, helped the Obama administration and HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius promote Obamacare. Both spoke at a National Youth Enrollment Day event to increase awareness of Obamacare among young people six weeks before the March 31 sign-up deadline. […] (Click here to read the rest, including the other charges with which this Mayor has been charged. Yikes.

Oh, yeah, and that is just the tip of the iceberg with this case. Just add one more to the list. Hey, I wonder if all these folks have a little convicted Democrat Caucus in the pokey? Just curious…

Oh, and one last thing about the VA and Obamacare. Dr. Ben Carson made the point just this morning about comparing the two. You can watch it here, but suffice it to say, when you consider what is going on now, it just doesn’t bode well for us/USA.

And that all makes ME madder than hell. Better go play a round of golf.

This is an Open Thread. Have at it!

OMG—I really don’t know what to say about Barack’s golf therapy when things get “rough”….except that he was “fore” the Vet. Admin. before he was against it!!??? 🙂

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Hey, Cuz! Thanks so much – I appreciate it!

ROTFLMAO abt the “golf therapy” – that is hilarious! Suzy said, “his policies are out of bounds, and he’s been given way too many Mulligans!”

      Ain’t that the damn truth!

I am usually a big Daniel Greenfield fan although he is far right of where I stand. However I do think he is brilliant.

Thus I am wondering if he’s right about this. I don’t know enough to know. (Give me credit for knowing when I don’t know and wanting to know more. Ooo I think I just gave myself a headache.)

this is a truth we better wake up to soon

    • kenoshamarge Says:

And those in our own country who make excuses for Islam are enemies of the USA IMO.

Somehow they’ve turned the world upside down so that those of us who hold a grudge against the people who attacked our country and killed nearly 3000 people are the bad guys and they somehow are the victims. I’ve reached the point where when someone calls me “Islamiphobic” I say, “damn right and until they act like decent human beings I will remain so”.

Although, sadly, our attack on Iraq leaves us open to condemnation too. But I never approved of that and said so. Repeatedly.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

No kidding, Marge. This mindset has completely confounded me. Obama refuses to even acknowledge – in the opening of the 9/11 Memorial Museum – that the reason we HAVE the Memorial is because of Islamist extremism. Somehow, liberals have turned this around to, as you noted, them being the victim, and we are all supposed to pussyfoot around them, not mentioning what they did to our nation that day, not to mention COUNTLESS other attacks. That wasn’t the first time they attacked the World Trade Towers, and they have not stopped attacking us yet.

That’s precisely why I keep asking why in the WORLD CAIR has so much influence in this country, or why we should care that someone threw a hissy fit that a 7 minute long video actually mentioned that Islamist extremists attacked us – they DID, and to deny that is not just tarnishing the memory of those who were lost that day, but denying a very real national security concern.

Heck – this has been going on for DECADES. Cuz;n Cindy provided me with this startling article detailing how we lost 7 other US Ambassadors before Chris Stevens, 3 of them to Islamic Extremists (PLO in 2 instances):

So, yeah – I know exactly what you mean…

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Did the Obama Administration really think that Russia, and Putin, would sit idly by while we tried to crash their economy? Does anyone in this crazy politisized administration listen to any of the experts in this field? Or do they leave everything to doofuses like Kerry? Or is Valerie Jarrett running our Foreign Policy these days. Because Lord knows it can’t be anyone who has our best interests in mind.

backtrack on TV speechifying on Veteran’s scandal. My stomach will not let me listen to him so I will wait for the ” what he really meant team” to tell me what he said

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yeah, I had to change the channel. I’m watching “Charmed” instead until the “WORM” is available.

        • kenoshamarge Says:

I will also wait for the WORM – I simply cannot stand the sound the the Liar-In-Cheifs voice. For me, once I know someone is a serial liar, nothing they say means anything to me. How many promises has he made and how many has he broken. Including to his own party. Guantanamo anyone?

He is unable, and unwilling, to work with congress and now one of his aids is bragging that Obama is going to be using Executive Orders a lot more. Illegal as hell and damned determined to stay that way. Plus it simply shows that he is a complete failure at governing. REAL leaders, lead. They find a way to work with others even if they don’t agree on things. Obama has shown from the gitgo, when he reminded McCain that he “won”, that he cares nothing about working together.

For my part I’m very glad that the GOP is the party of no. Glad someone is slowing him down if not stopping him. That will require the voters to take their heads out of their butts long enough to give the Senate to the GOP so that Obama can do no more damage to our country in his last two years. Legislatively I prefer a dead duck to a lame one but will take what I can get.

      • Katherine B. Says:

Is there anyone on the face of the earth who really thinks this guy cares about anyone but himself? All he wants to do is hang out with the Super Bowl champs and go off to Cooperstown to the Baseball Hall of Fame. This is the level at which this guy operates.

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Kirsten Powers was saying last night that she didn’t vote for him the second time because she was already disenchanted with him. She also thinks he is completely disengaged from what is going on in this country/world, and just wants to get on to the next fundraising gig (or words to that effect). I’ll see if I can find the video.

One would THINK people now see him for the serial liar he is, but there are still too many people who think he is the cat’s meow. Nothing will ever change their minds, though, I am afraid.

Oh, and Marge, that would be Dan Pfeiffer. He is such a piece of work that guy. Not a fan, not by a long shot. What he was basically saying is that Obama will continue his lawless practices, and until someone STOPS him, I guess he can. Infuriating, that’s for sure…

          • Katherine B. Says:

Thanks for writing about what Kirsten Powers said. I hadn’t heard that and it helps me have some (minimally) renewed faith in her objectivity.

          • kenoshamarge Says:

Interesting about Kirsten Powers – if she isn’t careful her disenchantment will turn her into an Independent like so many of us. Good for her that she is honest. I still don’t agree with her about many things but I do respect her honesty and integrity.

Should have known the miscreant was Dan Pfieffer – a bigger scumbag it would be hard to find. Birds of a feather and all that…

One helped bundle a ton of money for Obama, and the other one didn’t like him. So, yeah – stands to reason he former would be living the life of Riley while the other one faces prison time. That’s how Obama’s America runs now.

And the article made a good point abt how what DIDN’T happen to Corzine was not followed. I kept waiting to hear something abt it, and now I know he got off scot-free. Nice to have friends in high places, apparently…

marine held in mexico ordered to report to USMC superiors

hey guys what happened to the leave no man behind , not kick him when he is down?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Sadly, that concept ended in Benghazi.

And just how the hell do they expect him to do that, jailbreak?? How abt our Sec. of State do something we WANT him to do for a change and tell Mexico to let him out or we will make sure those 37k (or however many it is) convicted felons land on their door step. Just a thought.

      • Katherine B. Says:

Well, I keep hoping that the order to report is a tactic that would enable our government to say to the Mexican government that they have to release this guy because he’s under orders. I’m hoping it’s a pressure point on the Mexican government not on the Marine.

Of course, I could quite possibly be delusional!

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I like that reasoning a lot better, Katherine! I hope that is what it is, too – a warning shot across the bow of the Mexican jailers to let the Marine go. That would be much preferred! 🙂

        • kenoshamarge Says:

I do hope you are right Katherine. I cannot imagine the Marine Corps doing anything to make a marine’s life more difficult. As LeRoy Jethro Gibbs says, “there are NO ex marines.” 😉

This is what Obama is saying abt the VA:

And this is what I’m hearing:

  17. Katherine B. Says:

So I just read about Obama’s statement about the VA which, according to him, may or may not be a scandal. BUT, if it turns out to be a scandal then he “will not stand for it. Period.” Where have we heard that before???? “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan. Period.”

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

“IF” it is a scandal?? Yeah, okay. Already setting up that, “there is nothing to see here, move along, move along, just the GOP with much ado abt nothing…” I am so, so sure he will get to the bottom of all of this. Uh huh.

Yeah, I am sure Obama won’t rest looking into this issue, just like Obama care, which STILL is not capable of telling insurers what they should be charging. Everything is just going along swimmingly, after all.

Oh, here is Kirsten Powers from last night (I don’t usually watch O’Reilly – had just caught this before going to bed). I was pretty surprised she didn’t vote for Obama the second time, I’ll tell you. Yep, made me respect her a little more:

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Amen to that. What makes him think we even CARE what he “rejects”?? I guess facts and evidence don’t factor into his decisions. Typical…

      • Katherine B. Says:

I hope it does become a runaway crisis. Maybe then something will at long last be done to solve the problems that have plagued the VA for so long. Our vets deserve better. Much better.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yes, they do. People who willingly join the military and put themselves in harm’s way deserve to be treated with nothing but respect and honor. This current behavior is not even close to meeting that standard.
