“Unbelievable” And Very Believable, Weekend Open Thread

by

That was what Rep. Paul Ryan proclaimed during the hearing with IRS Chief Koskinen on Friday. That what the IRS would have us believe regarding both the emails in question, and the hard drives (not just Lerner’s, as it turns out, but six others closely related to the IRS political machinations), is simply unbelievable.

I am inclined to agree with the good Representative from Wisconsin. It IS unbelievable, ludicrously so. Here is Rep. Ryan from the hearing:

DANG, right? If you don’t have time to watch the video, the Daily Caller has a good bit of what Ryan had to say, including this:

[…] “You told us on Monday because we asked you! We asked you if any other hard drives crashed. This is unbelievable. You told us in May you were going to give us all of Lois Lerner’s emails and you learned in February that this crashed,” Ryan said.

“I’m not asking you a question, I’m making a statement…You can turn [taxpayers’] lives upside down. You ask taxpayers to hand over seven years of their own taxpayer information in case they’re ever audited, and you can’t keep six months of emails?,” Ryan said.

“This is not being forthcoming. This is being misleading again. This is a pattern of abuse, a pattern of behavior that is not giving us any confidence that this agency is being impartial. I don’t believe you. This is incredible,” Ryan said. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

It is incredible, and truly unbelievable. No WAY could just those hard drives, of just those particular IRS employees, and their emails, mysteriously disappear.

Megyn Kelly had a good piece on the emails and hard drives, joined by attorney, Cleta Mitchell, in discussing these new technical “glitches”:

Uh, yeah. Just about everyone in the universe who knows even the LEAST little thing about technology knows this: emails don’t just go *poof*, and for the emails of the other people involved to just go *poof*, too, is just laughable. Trace Gallagher mentioned it in the above report, that IT people are very clear that this does not happen. Just preposterous, and just unbelievable.

Yep, Rep. Ryan was spot on in his assessment of this latest from the IRS.

Someone else was spot on in his assessment, too. That would be Cody Full, a former Army Specialist who served with Bowe Bergdahl. He spoke out in response to Rep. Sherman, a Democrat from CA, who was working mighty hard to make the exchange for Taliban terrorists sound not quite so bad, and to try and give Bergdahl just a bit of an out for desertion. See for yourself:

Unlike the explanations being offered up from the Obama Administration and the IRS, Specialist Full’s statements are fully (!) believable. From BizPacReview.com:

[…] “You’re asking Dr. Jacobson what situation Bergdahl was in over there; I was with Bergdahl, at the same location,” Full interjected. “I can give you a firsthand account of exactly what Bergdahl was going through, because I went through the exact same conditions.”

Full then explained what the men in the platoon endured, and pointed out that “nobody else deserted” — which seemed to be a little too much common sense for a partisan politician more interested in establishing a desired narrative than in discovering the truth. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Uh, yeah – no one else in the platoon deserted. No one but Bergdahl, no matter how Rep. Sherman tries to spin it. Sheesh.

Oh, and I loved the Representative who corrected Rep. Sherman in terms of previous enemy exchanges being conducted government to government. The kind of logical manipulation Sherman tried to do practically gave me whiplash. Please.

Heaven knows there is a lot more going on now that is unbelievable, or incredible, mainly NOT in a good way in our government these days. Don’t even get me started on what’s happening with Iraq and how Obama is handling it (but you can feel free to weigh in on that, if you wish!).

Since this is the Weekend Open Thread, and in keeping with the theme, here is a really cool video that is both unbelievable AND incredible:

How wild were some of those facts?? Just mind boggling.

And here is one more mind-boggling, unbelievable, and INCREDIBLE video of this young man dancing as if he was in the “Matrix”:

Truly amazing what people can do, isn’t it? Just wild…

Okay – it’s all yours now. Feel free to talk about any, all, or none, of the above. What’s on your minds?

I have to share with y’all the funniest bill I think I have ever seen. This one comes courtesy of Rep. Stockman. I would LOVE for this to be passed and for Obama to have to sign it into law. Here are particulars of “The Dog Ate My Tax Receipts Bill”: The bill states, “All taxpayers shall be given the benefit of the doubt when not producing critical documentation, so long as the taxpayer’s excuse therefore falls into one of the following categories:

    1. The dog ate my tax receipts
    2. Convenient, unexplained, miscellaneous computer malfunction
    3. Traded documents for five terrorists
    4. Burned for warmth while lost in the Yukon
    5. Left on table in Hillary’s Book Room
    6. Received water damage in the trunk of Ted Kennedy’s car
    7. Forgot in gun case sold to Mexican drug lords
    8. Forced to recycle by municipal Green Czar
    9. Was short on toilet paper while camping
    10. At this point, what difference does it make?”

You mentioned the scandalous media lies about Scott Walker yesterday and being as I have been happy to vote for him twice, one to elect and once during the stupid and expensive recall, I thought you might find this great Guy Benson article interesting.

Scott Walker stuck a stake in the heart of the teacher’s union here in Wisconsin and they and their Dem pals will never stop trying to smear Walker.

Heinous Bias: Media Ignores Two Court Rulings Rejecting ‘New’ Walker ‘Scandal’ http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2014/06/20/scott-walker-nonscandal-n1853905

As for Paul Ryan, I have voted for him in the past and might vote for him again if he continues to show some guts like he did against that arrogant POS from the IRS. Mostly I am angry with him for his stand on Immigration.

I don’t think there are many people who don’t think that there need to be some changes made to our immigration laws – although enforcing the laws that are on the books would make a nice start. But does anyone think that Obama can be trusted to enforce any laws he doesn’t like? And NO more damn giant “comprehensive” laws. If you can’t read it while eating your dinner – no go!

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Thank you for helping to elect Walker. We need many more like him in office, I think. He seems to have done a tremendous job for your state. And yeah, can you BELIEVE how the media has ginned up this OLD news story as if it is news and unresolved?? I knew, the second I saw it, that they were just out to try and smear him so that should he decide to run, that is the FIRST thing people will think. You sure don’t see the papers correcting the dirt they spewed abt him…

I hope Ryan does keep showing some guts. I loved when he responded to Koskinen’s, “I’ve never had anyone tell me they didn’t believe me,” with, “I don’t believe you!” repeated. Ahahahaha!

But I hear you abt the Immigration thing. Yes, changes need to be made, but no way can ANYONE expect Obama to fulfill the law. He hasn’t thus far, with that, Obamacare, and a number of other things, so to expect him to do so on this one thing is ludicrous…

A Facebook friend posted this link to Sharyl Attkisson on Lou Dobbs and her response to a question abt the media: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jackie-seal/2014/06/20/lou-dobbs-and-sharyl-attkisson-discuss-liberal-media-lack-irs-coverage

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Sharyl Attkisson is one of the few, very few, real journalists left. And look what it got her? What happened to her is a lesson that others who might be inclined to actually “report” the facts and let them lay when they will that will keep them silent.

The JournOlist is not gone – it has simply gone underground. VOX, which is behind the smearing of Scott Walker is run by that little weasel Ezra Klein.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That is so true, Marge – she is one of the few, and sadly, and object lesson to other journalists. What they SHOULD have taken away from all that is that they needed to start being journalists again instead of propagandists or stenographers. That message eluded them, apparently…

Oh, my GOSH – that makes SO much sense now, Marge! I shoulda known someone like Klein was behind the smear on Walker. I was thinking of Klein and the impact the JournoListers had in 2008 after a discussion with a friend in Grand Cayman. She bought a lot of the MSM BS abt Obama, and likes him. When I told her some stuff abt Obama (e.g., getting everyone thrown off the ballot the first time he ran; getting the sealed divorce records of both the Dem and Rep Senatorial candidates unsealed; rampant caucus fraud in TX and other states, etc.), she kept asking why the Reps didn’t do anything abt it. I told her Hillary tried to do something abt it, too, but that the media refused to publish it. Only in places like Chicago were those stories known, and they got buried, all of which you know. But she didn’t, and still liked him.

But – that changed when she mentioned Obamacare, and how that was his signature plan because of what happened to his mother and everything. I told her his mother had insurance, GOOD insurance, which was reported after 2008, of course, and that Obama used her illness to get elected. THAT did it for her. Using his dead mother to get votes was the last straw for her. But she’s not American, and too many Americans were more than willing to turn a blind eye to what little bit DID get reported abt what kind of man he really is. Sigh.

Anyway – long story just to say, it is amazing what “journalism” has become in this country. As Pat Caddell has said so many times, they are destroying our democracy:

  4. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, and since I mentioned Obama and Iraq, y’all have surely heard by now that he plans to send in 300 advisors to Iraq. This was the warm and fuzzy response from a cleric there: http://thehill.com/policy/international/210152-iraqi-cleric-threatens-us-military-advisers

And this is unbelievable, too: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/06/22/va-brass-knew-of-false-data-for-2-years-/11224899/

WTH is it going to take to hold this Administration accountable? Hopefully, having sites like USA Today report on the VA scandal will push this important issue forward.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I think the constant drip, drip, drip of lies and scandals will in time rid us of these perfidious Dems. Obama of course does not have to run again so he thinks he’s home free. Not so much if the Senate is switched from blue to red and if that POS crazy old Harry Reid no longer gets to set the agenda.

The problem I see is that Obama is so lawless, so criminally corrupt that he will continue to do as he pleases and the GOP will do nothing. Does anyone seriously believe that Mitch McConnell will do anything to stop him?

And there is always the DOJ which under Holder has become the Department of INjustice. When the top cop is a crook there is little hope for the law.

We may be a nation of laws – but it means nothing if the laws are not enforced and if the President and Attorney General do not obey the law.

Will conservatives and Tea Party miss a golden opportunity in #NY22?

Conservative and Tea Party candidate Claudia Tenney has a chance to defeat the third most liberal Republican congressman, but she’ll have to do it on her own.

One week ago tonight, Legal Insurrection brought national attention to a Tea Party, Marine mother running for Congress in upstate New York.

Claudia Tenney has been battling a million dollar avalanche of “false flag” Super PAC ads that deceptively portrayed Tenney as the more liberal candidate, and incumbent Richard Hanna as more conservative. In fact, the opposite is true. Conservative voters in this conservative district may mistakenly vote for Hanna thinking they are electing the more conservative candidate.

The rallying cry has been picked up and amplified by Erick Erickson, Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity, among others.

    more: http://legalinsurrection.com/2014/06/will-conservatives-and-tea-party-miss-a-golden-opportunity-in-ny22/

IMO – When candidates like Richard Hanna act like Democrats, i.e. the lying and dishonesty when trying to brand an opponent as other than what they are, then conservatives need to treat them like Democrats. Don’t vote for the scumbags!

A scumbag with an “R” after their name is still a scumbag. Don’t decry the filth in the other party’s “house” if your own “house” is filthy too. This is why I am an Independent – I don’t like these kinds of tactics from either side. And have no problem saying so.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

You said it, Marge. This kind of lowlife campaigning, jumping on the “Bash the Tea Party!” bandwagon, is just ridiculous. Ugh. I am so sick of these people eating their own instead of standing up for the people against those who are doing real damage to the country.

      Thanks for this!
