Obama’s Blame Game Take 2, 743 *Open Thread*

by

I just made that number up, but it could be higher than that after six years of Obama blaming everyone under the sun but HIMSELF for the missteps, some minor, but too many major. And in this case, it was a MAJOR misstep.

Yep, Obama got himself on the tee-vee AGAIN, this time on “60 Minutes,” with Steve Kroft. If you are so inclined, you can watch the interview below:

Yes, in this case, Obama is blaming Jim Clapper and the Intelligence division for the rise of ISIS in the world as if he has been living in a bubble for over a year. But no, it didn’t fit Obama’s narrative of, “Bin Laden is dead, and Al Qaeda is on the run.” We heard this ad nauseumduring the 2012 campaign, and it was that narrative that, in my opinion, led to the dissembling, and downright lying, about what was happening in Benghazi.

No, Al Qaeda was not on the run. Al Qaeda was regrouping. That is a MASSIVE difference, and one the Intelligence community was aware of, according to this CBS report from February:

[…] Clapper and Flynn echoed that assessment on Tuesday. Clapper said there is a “proliferation” of al Qaeda groups or “al Qaeda wannabes” in Africa, where there is a “perfect storm” of conditions for those groups to develop, such as large ungoverned areas, porous borders and the availability of weapons primarily from Libya.

Flynn added that the instability in Syria could allow al Qaeda-affiliated groups to acquire weapons of mass destruction or their components. “While Syria’s stockpiles are currently under the control of the regime, the movement of these weapons from their current locations for disposal ,or other reasons, drastically increases the risk of these weapons or their components falling into the wrong hands,” he said.

Clapper noted that the al-Nusra Front in Syria does “harbor designs on attacks… in Europe and the homeland.”

Clapper gave the same assessment to the Senate Intelligence Committee last month. When asked by that committee about the United States’ preparedness with respect to terrorist attacks, Clapper said it was difficult to say whether the country is safer now than it was in 2001. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Yeah, it was a BIG ol’ shock that these radical Islamist groups were on the rise, huh, Obama?

Oh, wait – I forgot – we’re not supposed to call them Islamist, are we? That goes against Obama’s narrative. Never mind that it goes against reality. Branco from Legal Insurrection sums Obama’s worldview up perfectly in this regard:

Branco, Legal Insurrection

Uh, yeah.

But I digress from the crux of Obama’s Blame Game regarding this recent ISIS/Khorasan uprising. Katie Pavlich of Townhall had a great article highlighting Obama’s twists and turns to take no responsibility whatsoever for what is going on. You know, the COMMANDER IN CHIEF and PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES was apparently helpless and out of the loop. Right. To Townhall:

[…] President Obama shifted blame for the failure to combat ISIS sooner to the intelligence community, saying agencies tasked with threat assessment dropped the ball. Blaming the broad “intelligence community” is one of President Obama’s go-to tactics for evading responsibility on foreign policy disasters. He took no responsibility for the rise of ISIS as a result of his own decisions solely based on the political promises he made to pull all U.S. troops from Iraq and blamed former Prime Minister Nouri-Al Maliki for the failure to uphold the new democracy. Further, President Obama stressed that the current war against ISIS isn’t about the United States, but the international community as a whole.

“This is not America against ISIL. This is America leading the international community to assist a country with whom we have a security partnership,” Obama said. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Well, WHY THE HELL NOT are we at war against ISIL?? Seriously! Why NOT, President Obama?? Here is a massive group of radical Islamist terrorists who are threatening our country, killing our people, and amassing more power. Why AREN’T we at the forefront of a war against them?? Just for you to continue your Appeasement Campaign? (Obama went on with his, “We are NOT waging a war against Islam!” speech, one he began back in 2009 and continued in his “60 Minutes” interview Sunday night.)

Well, I got news for you, Mr. President: Radical Islamists are DEFINITELY at war with us, as this article from BizPacReview.com makes clear:

[…] Vice News tracked 21-year-old Somali-Canadian Farah Shirdon, also known as Abu Usamah Somali, through social media to Mosul, Iraq, to conduct the exclusive interview.

[…]

Shirdon claims as many as 15,000 foreign fighters have joined ISIS in the country, adding that there “thousands upon thousands” of others ready to strike in the west, specifically including New York.

“A lot of brothers there are mobilizing right now,” he said, going only so far as to say their plan consists of a “brilliant attack.”

ISIS is holding thousands of terrorists that they plan to behead and they want to make slaves of those who oppose them, Shirdon said. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

They are making it VERY clear what their intentions are toward us, and have done so for some time, even when Obama was referring to them as “JV.” He knew then, at least a year ago from the same Intelligence community against whom he is casting aspersions, as he should know now, that this group is the real deal when it comes to terrorists. To continue to appease and grovel at a time when we are receiving credible threats against our homeland from them (and others) is appalling. No, worse than that – it is a dereliction of his duty.

But sadly, it is what I have come to expect from the Blamer in Chief. How about you?

Oh, thanks, Helen – I appreciate you moving it up to this one!

And yeah – Obama is all too quick to take credit for all kinds of things he didn’t do, but he refuses to take blame for decisions he most definitely made. What a child he is.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

And what a miserable excuse for a “reporter” Steve Kroft is. Could he have thrown more softballs? I used to watch “60 Minutes” every Sunday night. Now I don’t bother. It’s just another branch of the Obama press office.

And if I can’t trust them to tell the truth in one segment why would I trust they got things right in another. And is not everything they do spun from their bias?

I do not watch ANY MSM “news” program. You just can’t trust the buggers.

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

No kidding, huh? Kroft is just another propagandist. He could have followed up with, “but Mr. President, reports indicate that intelligence knew 18 months ago abt ISIS and the growing threat…” Or how about, “But President Obama, fighting back against Islamic terrorists is not the same as waging war on Islam, don’t you agree?” Or SOMETHING. But no…

here is a link to his speech

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, I like Netanyahu quite a bit. Thanks so much for the link. I saw that he was speaking to the UN today, and that he was NOT happy abt the BS being spewed against Israel.

When I saw the other day abt what Abbas (I think it was) was saying, I just couldn’t help but wonder when the UN became a place that continued to back radical Islamic countries, like allowing Iran to be on the Human Rights Council, or giving so much air time to someone bashing Israel like that. It has really become something far different than intended, I think…

        Anyway – thank you!

        • kenoshamarge Says:

I also like Netanyahu a lot. He does what he thinks is best for his country and doesn’t toe the line the US wants him to toe. That alone makes me like him.

The United States would have Israel give in to all the demands of a bunch of thugs, and their thug government, that make no bones about wanting to drive the Jews into the sea. They don’t hide it, make no pretense of any other solution being what they want. They’ve said it for years. They don’t want a solution – they want all of Israel and all of its people dead.

Its not hard to understand when they say it right up front. And yet idiots like Kerry and most of the rest of our government think there is some solution. There isn’t.

As for arming the moderate Syrians…

          • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Great comment, Marge. The continued appeasement of these thugs as you so aptly call them by our gov’t and the UN simply defies logic. It is ridiculous. Again, they don’t care HOW much we give in to them – they still want to destroy us AND Israel. No matter what we do, it will never be enough.

That they also want to decimate Israel and commit genocide of Jews should also be a bit of a sticking point for our gov’t. Why it is not just boggles my mind.

            Love the puzzle!

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Nina Easton said on Special Report tonight that everyone should read Netanyahu’s speech. Maybe I’ll put it up for a post tomorrow so we can. He is such an eloquent, powerful speaker, and he does not back down. Yep, he is a true leader.

        • kenoshamarge Says:

Isn’t it amazing that the same sycophantic media that cannot praise a mediocre speaker like Obama enough never mentions what a powerful speaker Netanyahu is? Well perhaps, given who and what they are – not so strange.

state dept’s response to Netanyu’s speech

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I suppose if I am to stay informed I must read the State Department response. That’s difficult for me to do since I have lost all ability to believe anything that comes from SoS Kerry or his spokespeople, the ever dismal dipshit twins, Harf and Psaki.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yeah, it is a bit difficult to muddle through the spin, but this wasn’t just spin by Psaki, this was just delusion and denial. Hamas and ISIL are indeed “branches of the same poisonous tree…”

I guess this shows exactly how it is the United States can continue to engage with these kinds o f groups – they just simply ignore the threats Hamas and their ilk make toward us! Easy peasy, right?

        WOW.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

My Jeter sure looks relaxed, doesn’t he? He deserves some time off. He said he hasn’t had weekend barbecues during the summer for over 20 yrs, and he looks forward to just doing normal stuff like that.

Meanwhile, his children’s book, “Contract,” just came out, and he continues to do work with his foundation for at risk youth, “Turn 2 Foundation.”

After all the joy he has given Yankee fans over two decades, he deserves to be happy, and have the family he wants. Whether it is with Davis or someone else, I wish him that and more…

(Btw, my partner surprised me yesterday with the exact same kind of hat the Yankees wore on the field with the #2 patch on the side of it. The stickers on the hat said it was the same “on field” hats the Yanks wore. I admit, I got a little teary seeing that patch…)
