By-Passing The Constitution – Again *Open Thread*

Obama is at it again – making plans to by=pass the Constitution. That Obama continues to be completely tone deaf on these attempts goes without saying. but it is rather surprising considering his abysmal poll numbers, and that even those who supported him in large numbers no longer care what he has to say. It is truly remarkable.

Now, you might be thinking I am referring to this recent Daily Caller headline, “Obama’s Deputies Preparing Mega Amnesty Plan.” That is pretty startling in its own right:

President Barack Obama deputies are secretly preparing to print work permits for up to 11 million illegal immigrants over the next two years, despite the nation’s high unemployment, stalled wages and increasing automation.

If Obama actually goes ahead with the plan that is sketched in a federal contract document, he would provide employers with the ability to legally hire 13 million foreign workers even as 12 million Americans turn 18 in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The plan to print millions of work permits and green cards — dubbed “permanent resident cards” — is outlined in Oct. 3 and Oct. 6 federal announcements to contractors. […]

That is huge, no doubt about it. Obama will be unilaterally changing the law – AGAIN – all on his own (think the numerous illegal changes to the Obamacare law).

But wait, there is more to this (of course). Continued from the Daily Caller:

[…] The Contractor shall demonstrate the capability to support potential ‘surge’ in PRC and EAD card demand for up to 9M [nine million] cards during the initial period of performance to support possible future immigration reform initiative requirements,” said the government’s description of the pending contract.

Those contract terms would give Obama the technical ability to hand out more than nine million work permits in one year, or 13 million in two years, as part of his much-touted unilateral immigration plan.

The plan could give work permits to more foreigners than the total number of U.S. jobs that have been created by businesses during his tenure. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

And there you have it. We still have massive unemployment numbers here, millions of people who have just given up. And not for nothing, many of the jobs added are part-time jobs so employers can avoid the afore-mentioned debacle, the ACA (i.e., Obamacare).

So there is that continuing illegal activity by President Obama. But he is not stopping there, oh, no. Turns out Obama wants to ignore – again – Congress, and go his own way on something that is SPECIFICALLY laid out as a purview of the Congress: deals with foreign countries. Oh, yeah, there is not a doubt about this one, no matter how one wants to cut it. From The Hill:

The Obama administration will seek to avoid a vote in Congress on any nuclear deal with Iran, according to The New York Times.

“We wouldn’t seek congressional legislation in any comprehensive agreement for years,” one senior U.S. official told the Times.

The U.S. and five world powers are negotiating with Iran over its nuclear program ahead of a Nov. 24 deadline. Any deal would likely include Iran cutting back its nuclear program in exchange for a loosening of U.S. sanctions.

The Times reports that the Treasury Department has conducted a study concluding that President Obama can suspend the vast majority of sanctions without congressional approval. Permanently ending the sanctions would still require a vote from Congress.

Obama has already drawn fire from Republicans for bypassing Congress in other areas, and lawmakers on both sides have called for a vote to authorize U.S. strikes against ISIS.

Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), the Senate’s No. 2 Republican, linked to the article on Twitter Monday and wrote, “This will not stand.”

Nor should it. It is bad enough that they are even CONSIDERING this with Iran, which has repeatedly proven itself to be a dishonest broker, to put it mildly. But that Obama would do so without the “advice and consent” of the Congress absolutely should not stand, not be tolerated by EITHER side. Seems the Democrats might actually be waking up to this, as The Hill article continues:

This move could anger Democrats as well.

There is deep concern about a nuclear deal with Iran on both sides of the aisle in Congress, as lawmakers fear it would leave Iran too close to being able to make a nuclear weapon.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) signaled that Congress would in fact weigh in. “If a potential deal does not substantially and effectively dismantle Iran’s illicit nuclear weapons program, I expect Congress will respond,” he told the Times. “An agreement cannot allow Iran to be a threshold nuclear state.” […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Congress sure as hell better weigh in, and they better start holding Obama ACCOUNTABLE to the Constitution. He has made a number of reckless moves that are a danger to this country, from throwing wide the Southern border, to enabling the spread of Ebola, to lifting sanctions on an rabidly anti-USA country to allow them nuclear power. It is just sheer insanity. Insanity.

I realize Obama thinks he can do as he will because he is a Lame Duck President. But that does not mean he is not beholden to the Laws of this Land, and to the defense of the citizens of this country. Step the hell up already, Congress, and do your jobs. Clearly, Obama doesn’t give a damn about our laws, but WE sure do, and YOU sure should. Enough already.

At least that’s what I think. How about you? This is an Open Thread.

I know many people joke that Obama thinks he’s “impeachable” because of Joe Biden. I think he’s impeachable because of the way black citizens act when they don’t get what they want. Try to impeach Obama and black all across this country will riot, loot and commit acts of violence. That, IMO, is the only reason the GOP will not even try to impeach him for his many impeachable offenses.

There is also the fear that people don’t like the idea of congress removing a POTUS that the people elected. That said, Obama has all ready done way worse than Clinton and Nixon. The only thing saving him, IMO, is the color of his skin. If that’s “racist” so be it, it’s how I see it.

Marge, judging from the responses from Ferguson and in FL (Trayvon Martin), along with threats that the country will burn if Wilson isn’t jailed, and with Al Charlatan continuing his inciting to violence, I fear you are right.

Remember back in 2008 when McCain decided NOT to do anything abt the found ballot boxes full of votes lest there be riots?? That isn’t how elections are supposed to be decided here, but that sure is a part of what happened in 2008 (along with voter fraud, etc., etc.).

And Paul Ryan doesn’t help with his talk about “amnesty” for all the illegals invading our country. I’ve voted for Paul Ryan 3 times and will hold my nose and do so again next month. But I no longer “trust” him and he’s got no one but himself to blame. He seems to be one of those Republicans that thinks if he makes himself more like a Democrat that the Hispanics will vote for him. Clue yourself in Paul – it ain’t gonna happen!

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

What is up with Ryan??? I really liked him – he seemed like a decent guy who really cared abt the health of the country. Now it sounds like he has become a politician. Sigh.

  3. HELENK3 Says:

brought this forward from the last post

earlier Kerry made announcement that Russia would share intel on isis.
Russia says no way in hell

how many times has this happened now? first Kerry announced some agreement with a foreign power, then the power say no way in hell

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Apparently, Kerry learned NOTHING from Susan Rice’s recent debacle when she made claims abt Turkey.

This is the most incompetent bunch I have ever seen.

America completely out of control and women feel unsafe

this is a new feeling for America. people may not have agreed with the government in power but they did not feel that the government in power was at war with them

I will never understand how the people from a state that fought so hard for freedom at the start of this country be so willing to give it up without a struggle

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Are you kidding me with this?? What is going on with educators in this country?? Just shocking…

  6. HELENK3 Says:

so much for that party loyalty thingy

  7. insanitybytes22 Says:

As bad as the President’s approval numbers are, congress sinks even lower, probably because many people are frustrated by their do nothing attitude and refusal to stand up and be accountable. I think congress is quickly leaving the single digits and approaching the realm of negative numbers. Can you have an approval rating that sinks below zero? The way we’re going, it looks like we might find out.

Good post Rev Amy. It’s not too much to ask that our elected leaders follow the law and honor the Constitution, is it?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Um, it sure seems likely abt those poll numbers, doesn’t it?

No, it is not too much to ask for our elected officials to actually believe the oath they take to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the country. If they are incapable or unwilling to do so, they should be removed, IMHO.

      And thanks – appreciate that!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

One of the reasons that “congress” has such low approval ratings is that so many people think that “congress” is the House of Representatives. Can you believe that? They think that the Senate is separate.

And speaking of not getting anything done, thank Harry Reid for that…

  8. mcnorman Says:

If we do not agree with the twit in charge, we are racists, and various other things that are untrue.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

      You said it, mcnorman!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Not true but repeated endlessly and believed by the stupid people. Wanna come and hide with me?

      • mcnorman Says:

Is your closet large enough for all of us? LOL

      • HELENK3 Says:

pretty please can I join you?? I will bring cheesecake filled chocolate covered strawberries

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

          Dang, Marge, homemade cookies??

And cheesecake filled strawberries from Helen?? I’m in! 🙂

Abt Ryan: it is really frustrating. I sure hope our Trey never goes down that path of trying to be all things to all people. I don’t have to agree with EVERYTHING someone believes in, but just believe what you believe without blowing whichever the way the wind blows. I have FAR More respect for people who stick to their guns, not out of ignorance, but out of reflection, than someone who flips and flops.

          • kenoshamarge Says:

About Trey Rev, I worry about that too. I think the proof will be if he runs for a 3rd term or for other office. Washington and the power these people get seems to change them. The old “power corrupts” thing. The change in Ryan seems to have come since he was the VP candidate. I think he sees higher office in his dreams – and therein lies an end to character and honesty.

I must say I do like his campaign ad here in Wisconsin. The digs at the IRS are great.

        • kenoshamarge Says:

You had me at cheesecake Helen – my greatest weakness! ♥

  10. HELENK3 Says:

WTH what part do I not understand?
backtrack wants to bring patients from Africa to be treated for ebola here.
General says US troops that contract ebola will be treated in Liberia

you know the troops that get 4 hours of ebola training and will not have proper hazmat suits

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That is just insanity. Seriously. That is insane. Why in the HELL would you bring people who are not citizens HERE to possibly infect citizens but leave not just citizens, but those who literally put their lives on the line for us, in LIBERIA???

      No. This cannot, CANNOT, stand.

  11. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Okay, there is no other way to say this: Kerry is a jackass, and his favoritism toward Palestine over and above our ALLY, Israel, is deplorable:

Fantastic Andrew Klaven post. If you haven’t watched the video its worth the time or even a second time as I did.

    Knucklehead Row

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

It is a great video. I hope the MSM pays attention!

Abt Trey (since there wasn’t room above) – he said the only reason he was running this time around was because of Tim Scott, whom he just loves and wants to see succeed in the Senate. I reckon we’ll see, but I sure hope he’s the real deal…

  14. HELENK3 Says:

this is one of the saddest articles I have read in a while. God Help this country
