“Crazy Ain’t Original These Days,” Or The “Freaky Friday Thread” *Updated*

UPDATE at the end of the post.

Holy smokes, just when you think things can’t get any nuttier, somehow, they do. I think Sheryl Crow sums it up mighty well in her (Country) song, “Crazy Ain’t Original (These Days):

Yep, “crazy ain’t original,” especially when one is talking about the government.

Take, for instance, the unbelievable verdict by a US Judge, Reggie B. Walton, on the flagrant violations by the IRS in targeting groups. His conclusions are, how shall I say this? A reach. Yeah, that’s politic enough, right? From Breitbart:

On Thursday, a federal judge in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia entered an order dismissing a lawsuit filed by True the Vote, a Houston, Texas-based non-profit organization focused on “voters’ rights and election integrity” against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The order alleged that the IRS had improperly delayed granting their application for 501(c)(3) status and targeted them as a conservative organization. The opinion, by Judge Reggie B. Walton, found that the IRS had taken sufficient “remedial steps to address the alleged behavior.”

Judge Walton’s opinion stated that because the IRS had finally granted True the Vote their 501(c)(3) status, the case “no longer warrant[ed] the Court’s attention and further use of its resources,” and deemed True the Vote’s lawsuit to now be moot. However, True the Vote had argued specific costs that the IRS’ delay had caused them, including fees for attorneys and CPAs, as well as fundraising losses. A number of other non-profit organizations and other donors had either pledged or donated money to True the Vote with the understanding that the group would have official 501(c)(3) status soon. Some of these groups even had requirements in their organizational documents that they could only give money to other approved 501(c)(3) organizations. According to Churchwell, the IRS’ years-long delay acted as a “functional denial of our application” and True the Vote was forced to return some donations, and other pledges were revoked. Churchwell described the total costs to True the Vote caused by the IRS’ delay to be nearly $90,000. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

True the Vote will continue to fight this. I hope they do. This opinion seems rife with, um, issues, as the All Star Panel discussed on “Special Report” Thursday night. You can watch the Panel HERE. Bottom line, Judge Walton’s decision didn’t seem to be based on a whole lot of facts. IMO, that is.

But that’s not the only crazy thing going on this week, as the Panel also discussed above. That would be a story Helenk provided from Judicial Watch: the claim by President Obama that Eric Holder’s wife and mother are covered by Executive Privilege. It is laughable on its face.

And here’s some “freaky” news. You may well have heard a few weeks ago about the alleged participation by the Palin family in a “drunken brawl.” Well, Bristol Palin was at the heart of it all, and she finally spoke out about what happened, and the media’s coverage of this story:

[…] Our friend got knocked out from a cheap shot from behind. (His injury resulted in ten stitches, so it was really low.)

Why would anyone do this? Well, here’s a hint. The guy was on social media during this incident, tweeting, “about to get famous.”

When Willow saw all this happening she looked at the guy’s mom and said “get ahold of your son.”

But apparently the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree, because his mom pushed Willow. A grown woman pushed my little sister.

After I got out of the car, I didn’t get far. I never even got to talk to his mom, because a guy in his late thirties or early forties got in my face. He was towering over me – probably at 6 foot something and over 200 pounds. He puffed his chest out and started yelling.

“You c-nt!” he looked right in my eyes and said. “Get the f-ck out of here, you slut!”

I was alarmed that things had gotten so bad so fast. But it got even worse when this guy started pushing me. He had his hands on me, pushing me down. That’s when I swung and hit his face.

Some would say I should’ve never retaliated in defense against him, but certainly he should never have pushed a girl. It didn’t phase him. He pushed me down to the ground and kept me there.

It was scary and awful. He held me down until someone got me out of the situation.

What Bristol doesn’t say here is that this man pulled her along the ground by her feet, according to Matt Lewis of the Daily Caller who called out the lack of response to the assault Bristol suffered. Had it been anyone else, things might be different, Lewis averred. No doubt.

Back to Bristol’s account:

[…] The incident was scary and infuriating. I had bruises all over me from being pushed down.

In the meantime, did you even hear about Vice President Joe Biden’s adult son who kicked out of the Navy for cocaine? (That’s the real Vice President’s kid…) So pause for a moment and consider the hysteria over our stupid “incident”, compared to our actual Vice President’s son not even being able to hold on to a position in the Navy Reserve.

Here’s the thing. Violence against women is never okay… Even if that violence occurs against conservative women. Imagine for a second the outrage that would happen if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pushed by some guy. Had she tried to defend herself, the liberal media would’ve held her up as some feminist hero.

But it wasn’t Chelsea.

It wasn’t Hillary.

It wasn’t someone they liked or someone they agreed with.

It was a conservative.

And once again, the hypocrisy of the media is laid bare. (Click here to read the rest.)

One can sure appreciate the frustration Bristol must feel at thw way she was treated after being assaulted by this man. Heck, a CNN anchor had to apologize today for the comments she made about this event and Bristol. I think Bristol has a point – there would have been a whole different take on this assault had it happened to someone named Clinton, Obama, or Kennedy…

Yep, “crazy ain’t original no more.” Sadly, it seems to have become the norm. And that’s the “Freaky Friday” edition. Feel free to discuss any of the above, or any other crazy stories you come across.

UPDATE: Now things have gone from “Crazy” to “TRAGIC.” A gunman opened up fire at a high school: Police: Two dead, four wounded in shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. One of the dead is the gunman. Three of those injured have primary head wounds, according to a doctor at a trauma hospital where 3 of the victims are (1 other victim had a jaw injury and went to another hospital). No doubt, more will come out of this as they sort out the details.

Meanwhile, THREE officers were shot in the Sacramento area by an Hispanic man and woman, both of whom were heavily armed, according to reports: CHP: 3 officers shot in Sacramento, Placer counties.

Thoughts and prayers are with those families who lost family members today, or who are still wondering what has happened with their children. And for the police officers, both in CA, and in NYC who were attacked last night by an Islamist lone wolf wielding a hatchet.

The Palin Family has gone through more hell and kept strong then most families in America ever will. Why because mom ran for VICE PRESIDENT and is smarter then the average bear? The fact that they do not knuckle under to losers drives the left crazy. We need more families like the Palins if we want to keep our country free.

You said it. That the “Feminists” denigrated, demeaned, and belittled this woman who, if she had a D by her name would have been celebrated throughout the land for all she accomplished, helped open my eyes to the lie that Feminists wanted ALL women to have quality of life. No, only liberal women are supposed to be taken seriously, treated with respect, etc., etc. (though they did a pretty crappy job of that, too). The hypocrisy is absolutely staggering.

So, yeah – good for the Palins for standing strong, and calling both the media and liberals out for their hypocrisy on Bristol’s assault.

    we are paying for this

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, my good lord. WOW. I think that falls into both the CRAZY and FREAKY portions of today’s post!

    a little too late

Is it just me or is she trying to copy Sarah Palin’s look with the glasses.
My daughter did tell me that more and more women are buying glasses like Sarah Palin wears

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Apologies only count if you mean them. She’s just sorry her little “laugh fest” as bristol Palin’s expense went sour. She’s scum IMO and so is any other woman who finds the idea of a young woman attacked. Although I wonder how I would feel if I heard that Carol Costello was attacked? Sorry? A little bit sorry? Not one damn bit sorry because it seems Karmic? No, I would even feel bad about a POS like her. NO woman should be attacked like that.

Funny how those who talk so much about a war on women can’t seem to understand that they can’t decide that a “War on Conservative Women, or their children” is not acceptable.

Actually I think the following video expresses my point of view about the “War on Women” very well. And he, poor thing, is just a man.

Ben Shapiro: Women Are Winning the War on Women

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Uh, yeah. I think the only thing for which this anchor is apologetic is that she was actually called on her behavior, termed “sadistic,” by Peter Johnson, Jr. I mean, really – what else can it be when you are LAUGHING at a young woman who was just assaulted by a man much bigger and heavier than she is, who verbally assaulted her in addition, and who was reporting to the police what the MAN said to her, which seemed to cause some amusement for Costello.

Yeah, it is so telling, isn’t it?

Thanks so much for the Shapiro video. He had a lot of great things to say, that’s for sure. Good find!

        • kenoshamarge Says:

I like Ben Shapiro even though he, like his colleague Daniel Greenfield are much further right than I am. I thought his remarks about Hillary riding Bill’s coattails were a bit harsh.

Then you have her basically “riding his coattails” by referring to what he did. Is she claiming she’s Bill Clinton? Is she just the “little woman” who must have the big strong man to back her up? WTH?

Hillary Clinton: Business Don’t Create Jobs!

          • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That comment by her was just ludicrous, and a doubling down of Obama’s, “you didn’t build this!”

And yes, I can appreciate that abt the coattails remark – I think Hillary got to where she is on her own merits (unlike Obama). She actually did work as an atty and did a bunch of stuff on her own. But yes, for her to then essentially turn around and prove Shapiro right was telling.

But I totally get you abt Shapiro (and Greenfield). I was speaking more generally that his message that women are doing better than many of the Pro. Feminists would have us believe. Like when I realized that we have had the Pay Equity Act for 50 yrs – who knew? Ahem…

Valerie Jarrett Key Player in Fast and Furious Cover-Up After Holder Lied to Congress

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Holy crappydoo, Marge – that is huge! And it confirms suspicions as to how much ol’ Valerie has a hand in running the White House.

Sure does seem to prove that Holder is a Big. Fat. Liar., doesn’t it?

      • kenoshamarge Says:

She seems to have her slimey hands in everything doesn’t she? Seems to me as if she governs so Obama doesn’t have to.

As for Holder – he is disgusting. All too many of those in positions of authority are corrupt. Somehow when the person the heads the Department of Justice is so corrupt and such a liar it seems worse. It seems 1984 didn’t come until 2014 and we truly have the “Ministry of Truth”. Scary stuff.

  9. HELENK3 Says:

this is something we should be concerned about

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yes, it should be a big concern. At least it is for law-abiding citizens. Others, not so much…

Another great one from Klavin! Thanks, Helen!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

You beat me to the punch Helen! Isn’t this a great one? I especially liked the part about putting women in black bags and throwing rocks at them. It’s the truth put in terms that really have an impact.

  11. HELENK3 Says:

about that war on women. any woman that vote for this so called man should be made to watch this clip over and over again

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

This was just infuriating. The first time Haley ran, they made up this BS story abt her having an affair, a story that was proven to be total BS, not that anyone ever apologized for that.

And now this from her Dem. opponent. Tell me again who is supposed to be engaging in a “War on Women”? Putz.

  12. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

In the “Crazy” vein, Hillary is now channeling Barack by saying that businesses don’t create jobs. What the hell are they smoking in Washington?? Here’s the link: http://freebeacon.com/politics/hillary-clinton-corporations-and-businesses-dont-create-jobs/

does a bear shop in the drug store?

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Fortunately it was just a bear cub. I would think that a full grown bear could pretty much shop anywhere it wanted to. At least I wouldn’t want to be the one to say it nay – as I headed for the back door as fast as I could go.

    • foxyladi14 Says:

how many work permits does backtrack want?, well here is a good reason why

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, no doubt – considering the number of illegal voters we already have, I think it is crystal clear what he is doing.

  15. HELENK3 Says:

    Do not think so

  16. HELENK3 Says:

if this is happening all over the dems are in big trouble

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

THANK YOU for finding this video. I saw the article the other day, and thought it was telling indeed.

And no, I cannot imagine anyone thinking Obama has left the DNC better than he found it – except Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (more on her in my upcoming post).
