Fallout And Sharpton Race Baiting Continues, But Hope Springs *Open Thread* *UPDATED*

Update at the end of the post.

I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. I had a great time with my Great Aunt June, her caretaker, and her caretaker’s extended, hilariously funny, family. The downside is that I started getting sick Thursday night, and that has only continued. Of course, making the long drive back down from Virginia, especially in heavy traffic, didn’t help any, but we are home safe and sound, and had a wonderful time. I hope you all did!

Unfortunately, it seems that even with the Holidays upon us, the rioters and looters continue from the Ferguson decision, and not just in Missouri. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke has a couple of people on whom he is pinning the blame for the reactions to the Grand Jury decision. I could not agree more with him:

Absolutely, the manner by which Obama and Holder have handled this situation has done little to ratchet down the violence. I think Sheriff Clarke is right: it has made it worse.

And then you have this race-baiting fool preaching from the pulpit continuing to incite people:

Yep, Officer Wilson, a decorated officer, resigns his position, giving up his LIVELIHOOD, and that is not enough for Sharpton. Nope. And when he speaks about “justice,” JUSTICE was served. That is PRECISELY what the result of the Grand Jury was, justice under OUR legal system. But is that enough for Sharpton? Oh, hell no – he pushes and pushes and pushes for more fighting for “justice” in Ferguson. Apparently, the rioting, looting, violence, and destruction wasn’t enough for him once the Grand Jury did its job, oh no. I guess he wants the whole city to burn to the ground for this kid who attacked and assaulted a police officer, trying to take his gun. THAT is about whom Al Sharpton, the reverend, was preaching FROM THE PULPIT on Sunday. And it is on him that Sharpton is making his money, as well as Obama and Holder appeasing a select group of people, apparently forgetting that they are to serve ALL Americans. As the top law enforcer, Holder should be more concerned at how a police officer was treated as he was trying to do his job, how he has lost his job as a result, instead of making this ALL about race. But no. That is not how this bunch of race-baiting, hanging-on-the-coattails of Martin Luther King, Jr. act, not even close.

In fact, this Branco cartoon from Legal Insurrection captures what people like Sharpton, Holder, and Obama are doing PERFECTLY:

Yes, I believe that sums up well what these professional race baiters are doing, leading the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., Dr. Alveda King, to make these comments on Sunday. From BizPacReview:

[…] And in the process, without naming any names, Alveda King showed just how much the charlatans like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and their enablers in the mainstream media are pulling the wool over America’s eyes.

King was on “Fox & Friends” when she denounced the violence that accompanied the “peaceful protests.

King’s particular topic was an inflammatory opinion piece published last week in Time magazine headlined “In defense of rioting,” in which a freelance journalist made the “argument” that rioting for a just cause was acceptable – even noble.

But the woman who grew up surrounded by men and women who spent their lives in a movement for social change knew better.

The Ferguson rioting, she said, was and is “an unnecessary evil,” that had no connection to the civil rights marchers of decades past.

“We were asking people not do riot,” she said. “We asked people to use their prayers and words … Our response was never violence.” […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Precisely. That is precisely what MLK, Jr. advocated, not the kind of “justice” Sharpton seems intent on getting, tearing down communities, and lives, at all costs to further his own career and line his own pockets. If certain people, like Holder and Obama weren’t intent on allowing certain groups to believe, and act, as if the laws don’t apply to them, and apparently, they don’t. That is not for what Martin Luther King, Jr. called, not even close. And Alveda King would know, far better than those race baiting charlatans like Al.

Thank heavens, though, there are those who are willing to embrace the teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr. People who are willing to truly engage with each other, regardless of race. To reach out to one another, and to break down the very barriers people like Obama, Holder, and Sharpton are provoking. That would be Officer Barnum, a Portland police officer, who responds to a photo of him hugging a young black boy at a Ferguson rally Here is Officer Barnum speaking about that experience:

Now THAT gives me some hope that even in the midst of Obama hosting yet another one of his “Summits” as a result of this recent decision, that people, when left to our own devices, can connect one with another. That law enforcement agents don’t have to be seen as “the enemy,” as this White House, DOJ, and adviser (Sharpton) would like to paint them. THAT is the image that should be taken away from what happened, not what these race baiters are encouraging with their statements. That is my hope, anyway…

How about you? This is an Open Thread.

Personal Note: I have an early morning doctor’s appointment tomorrow (nothing serious, just annual eye doctor check-up), and will not have a chance to get a new post up. Since I am sick anyway, this one will have to suffice for a couple of days. So, have at it!

UPDATE: I happened to catch Milwaukee County Sheriff, David Clarke, on “Fox and Friends” this morning discussing the impact Holder, Obama, and Sharpton have had on Ferguson, police departments, and more. Here is Sheriff Clarke:

It is unbelievable that the Federal Government is using this completely ginned up “crisis” to interfere in local police departments. For the 1,000th time, as we all know here, Brown wasn’t killed because he was black. He was killed because of his criminal behavior assaulting a police officer, going for his gun, and then charging him. He could have been purple, and the outcome would have been the same. We need some sanity in this government – it is clear we are not getting it from Democrats there now…

So long as the corrupt media and the corrupt administration can keep the public looking at the farce in Ferguson they will not have to talk about the many failures of Obama. ObamaCare -Amnesty- Foreign Policy- Jobs and the Economy. Look over there works for them every time. Or it has until now. I think the farce in Ferguson has begun to bore a public that is always looking for the next shiny thing. And there are millions of people who find the constant “racial” cries nonsense. I know I do.

Is there real racism around? Of course there is. But the worst that I see is the blacks who hate whites simply for the color of their skin.

Officers Wilson didn’t kill Michael Brown because he was black – he killed him because he was a thug who attacked the officer, tried to get his gun away from him, something that makes for a righteous shooting anywhere, and because he ran back at Wilson.

Where is the attention and the media, and Obama when someone white person is killed by blacks spewing hate? Guess dead white folks don’t matter.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That is exactly it – Brown’s race had NOTHING to do with his death. His own actions did. Are they arguing that this is behavior typical of blacks? If so, isn’t THAT racist??

What is most definitely racist is that, apparently, not everyone has to have the same laws applied to them that others have. THAT is racist. Why in the world would blacks not have to abide by grand jury decisions when everyone else does? Or why should a black person be able to attack a police officer and try to take his gun, and NOT expect that officer to react? And why should they be allowed to destroy businesses, steal property, and attack people and NOT expect to be held accountable for their actions? THAT is racism, plain and simple.

And speaking of white people, you may have seen this link from the St. Louis Dispatch already. A friend had it at her Facebook site, and mentioned that it was telling indeed that the St. Louis police chief determined, within a matter of minutes, that of COURSE race didn’t have anything to do with these black and Hispanic people beating a guy to death with a hammer just because: http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/motorist-beaten-to-death-by-several-juveniles-with-hammers/article_9f15bf49-c8b7-5bc3-8671-ac291f666084.html

Oh, and BizPacReview noted that when the Bosnians protested, no businesses were looted or burned: http://www.bizpacreview.com/2014/12/01/black-and-hispanic-thugs-are-beating-victims-with-hammers-in-st-louis-one-dead-162442

And yes, there is definitely racism in this country. But the continued canonization of young men who are nothing more than common thugs and/or criminals while ignoring the violence and crime some perpetuate, especially against each other in their own community, is absurd. That is to say, I think you are right – people are over this.

I almost forgot – no doubt abt it this is the media aiding the Obama Administration with diversions lest people pay attention to the continued machinations of this Administration. That SO many people voted Democrats out over the mid-terms should tell Obama and Minions that people are WISE to him. The only ones who seem to be buying the MSM/Obama/Sharpton BS are the far left liberals.

funny how the so called journalists could not find this

remember that emergency call that Officer Wilson responded to before meeting mike brown

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, wow – yeah, I reckon they just couldn’t be bothered with FACTS. This whole blown up event was very, very short on facts from the get-go. The only thing they got right was that Brown was black, and Wilson was white. That’s it.

  7. HELENK3 Says:

interesting and sadly could be a truth today

  8. HELENK3 Says:

bet this went over like a lead balloon

  9. HELENK3 Says:

just curious, where are sharpton, jackson, backtrack, holder the naacp and all the other race baiters in trying to fix these problems?

every night i take a walk outside to watch the sunset over the lake. 99.9% of the time I am the only one out there. If people would take 5 minutes of their day to see beauty they would be a lot happier. just my opinion. Tonight there was a beautiful sunset and one cloud that looked like santa’s sleigh with the raindeer among the clouds

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Amen to that, Helen. We are fortunate that the sun sets over the marsh where we live. It is beautiful. Sometimes, it is so stunning, it literally makes us stop in our tracks. The deer and raccoons make us do the same. We try to never take for granted the beauty of the place in which we live, and the beauty of this planet.

Thank you for the reminder! 😀

    • foxyladi14 Says:

Amen look for the beauty it is all around us. 🙂

  12. HELENK3 Says:

but but but I am special, why don’t you understand that?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That is exactly the attitude. And that people like her are SO superior to “racists” like Wilson, that she is ENTITLED to publish his address and put his life in danger. Never mind his wife’s and their (unborn) baby…

  13. HELENK3 Says:

blacks should start openly carrying guns to stop racist police.

anytime one of these morons need a cop, they should be told to call a black man with a gun.

Wow Amy…So glad you had a great Thanksgiving…Great post too which expresses what needs to be said by our so called Reporters.

So sad have to come back to the news of our country going down the tank. I still cannot believe how Obama is using Ferguson…I am beginning to wonder if this is just the fuse to way more than most of us want to see in and happen to our country.
This is worse than negotiating with terrorists.

Some of their statements include:”
“In previous remarks, the president has used language that criminalizes our movement, lumping in the vast majority of peaceful protesters with violence and bad actors,” said Brittany Packnett, a St. Louis educator and activist. “In our meeting, we explained that most violence in our community is coming from the police department, and something needs to be done about it.”

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Thanks so much, Kin. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, too!

And ugh abt this report. That these people continue to blame the police for all of the looting, rioting, burning, assaults, and more, is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. Way to take ZERO responsibility for their own actions…

  15. HELENK3 Says:

why isn’t this sob in gitmo? he is a domestic terrorist

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

So infuriating. WILSON is not a racist. BROWN was a criminal, and Wilson was defending himself from him. That Holder is making these kinds of claims makes it ABUNDANTLY clear that he sees his role to support just one segment of this population, not all of us (as Bob Massey pointed out the other day).

  16. kenoshamarge Says:

This is the party that insists there is no problem with “voter fraud”. Actually for them it isn’t a problem. They do it, they support it and see nothing wrong with it. And Helen, no doubt they will not be happy. While I am all for free speech, I do not watch sporting events for political commentary.

        • kenoshamarge Says:

I am all for free speech too. However that means that you have to take what comes with it. • kenoshamarge Says:

Best part of the whole “Special Report” last night was that short bit from Gowdy! I hope this is a sign that the Republican’s have finally decided to push back, hard, against all the race-baiting trash that try to muddy the waters by spewing their invective instead of facts.

I/we know that Trey Gowdy will not put up with such crap, the question is how many others will?

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

you do not shit where you eat.

when you destroy your neighborhood, you pay the price. How many businesses will not come back? How many people will get out as fast as possible?

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Why on earth would anyone want to stay, let alone rebuild, in Ferguson? The sad part is that many decent people who would like to leave won’t be able to afford to go. Thus they will stay and be the victims of further black scum criminals who mostly prey on people in their own neighborhoods. That’s something else the MSM and the lefty twerps masquerading as “reporters” never report. Or the POS POTUS.
