The King Is Dead, Fallout Begins, and Falling In Line *Open Thread*

And no, I am not talking about Elvis Pressley, or even King Abdullah, though he did pass away yesterday.

Oh, you remember King Abdullah, don’t you? He is the one to whom Obama practically curtsied to when he met him, and he did do a deep bow to him:

Yeah, it was shocking, and I don’t care how great of an ally he was to the United States. More on that in a minute. No, the “King” to whom I am referring here is actually Obama himself, appointed one by too many Democrats who are willing to allow him to issue Edicts willy nilly, and acting as if his proclamations carry the same weight as a law passed by the law-making body, the Legislature.

Well, after his most recent SOTU, seems some of his “subjects” ain’t too happy with them. Before you just go ahead and assume they just HAVE to be a bunch of racists, check out the video below (h/y Legal Insurrection):

What a bunch of racists, huh? Ahem. Just to be clear, here is some of what these folks in Obama’s home town of Chicago said post-SOTU. From Legal Insurrection:

[…] In a new post-2015 SOTU interview, the activists express not just their frustrations with Obama, but the hope that Republicans will fight:

All five activists in the video discuss their frustrations with President Obama, and his inability or unwillingness to relate to the poorer working class black population across the country….

[Paul] McKinley says “the country is more racially divided” since President Obama took office six years ago, and the president has failed to correct it.

[Joseph] Watson had a message for new Republican congress, saying, “We hope that congress defunds Obamacare. We pray that congress do away with your amnesty executive order, giving and providing illegal aliens and immigrants work permits to make sure black don’t get jobs in our own community.

[…] (Click here to read the rest.)

Holy smokes. I am betting you are not going to see THIS interview on ABC/CBS/NBC, huh? Heck, probably not NPR either. It doesn’t fit the narrative of the man who made this claim:

Uh, yeah, King Obama – you are SOOO powerful, you can halt the rise of the oceans. Uh huh…Well, it is looking like those who once supported you are already starting to look back and not liking a whole lot of what they see. And I am going to bet that the working poor in Chicago who feel so abandoned by you are not all that concerned at the moment about “halting the rise of the oceans” so much as having enough food to feed their children. And they aren’t all that keen on illegal immigrants coming in and taking what few jobs there are thanks to your unconstitutional largesse with our borders.

But that isn’t the only fallout from Obama’s SOTUs. Honestly, if I were a company or country that Obama highlighted as being great and turning the corner toward prosperity or democracy or something, I might look for another job or another country to which to move. For instance, in 2010, Obama referenced SOLYNDRA. As you may recall from the outstanding work of Sharyl Attkisson, Solyndra received a loan that was over HALF A BILLION DOLLARS, and then went bankrupt the next year, the same year Obama mentioned them in the SOTU. Obama mentioned eBay in this year’s SOTU and, you guessed it, they are laying off THOUSANDS of people (h/t Fox and Friends).

But it isn’t just in his SOTU addresses that Obama makes claims that end up falling far, far short of reality. Take this claim about Yemen just a few months ago from Fox News:

The White House insisted Monday that the U.S. counterterrorism strategy in Yemen is a model for the fight against the Islamic State — despite the country being engulfed by a violent political crisis that last week led the Obama administration to remove some of its diplomats and urge American citizens to leave.

The developments — including the firing of a rocket near the U.S. Embassy in the country’s capital over the weekend — again have raised questions about President Obama’s plan for targeting Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.

The White House, though, is standing by claims that the country is a “useful model” for dealing with militants elsewhere. Press Secretary Josh Earnest on Monday claimed fighters in Yemen remain under “continual pressure” from the U.S. despite the latest unrest.

“That threat has been mitigated through the use of this counterterrorism strategy,” Earnest said. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Perhaps Obama, Earnest, and the others might just want to turn on a tee-vee to see what is going on in Yemen today. I can sum it up for you like this: Yemen will no longer be a partner with us in fighting off ISS since it is now collapsing under assaults by Houthis. That is NOT good for us, to put it mildly.

The death of King Abdullah does not help in the upheaval in the Middle East, either.

It is amazing what has happened in the Middle East since King Obama came on the scene, isn’t it? Yikes. Obama can’t slow the rising of the oceans, and his policies sure are not bringing stability to the Middle East. Nope, they have done quite the opposite. And yet, Obama keeps wanting to capitulate to Iran even more, even with their influence on the unrest in the area. THAT should really help now that the Yemeni government has collapsed, and Saudi Arabia is in flux. Not…

Ugh. I can’t leave this here, though. I want to share with you some of the “Falling in Line” I was able to witness last night at the “Shen Yun” performance Suzy and I attended. It was magnificent. The following video has some interviews with dancers, but also shows some of the beautiful dances they do:

It was amazing to see them “fall in line” in so many different ways and dances. If you get a chance, it is well worth it.

Okay, it’s yours now – this is an Open Thread.

    really great story

backtrack seems hell bent on trashing the office of the president of the USA

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Ain’t that the truth, Helen? I have never seen anything like it in all my life, and would have GLADLY not experienced this. From demeaning it to threatening our national security with his dangerous policies (Iran? Cuba? The Taliban?), he is doing tremendous damage to our country.

  3. HELENK3 Says:

the video of the dancers is great. They are so graceful and it is just beautiful. Glad you enjoyed the opportunity to see them

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Thanks, Helen – they were incredibly graceful. Their movements were just mesmerizing. Just beautiful…

  4. HELENK3 Says:

another one of backtrack really bad deals

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

And that is the issue – that this Administration is capitulating to Iran in such major ways. They are incredibly dangerous, far from being honest brokers, and are benefitting in a big way from both Obama’s policies, and what is going on in the Middle East…

  5. HELENK3 Says:

    the backtrack curse strikes again

you If you are a worker at any company backtrack mentions or visits you should update your resume and start looking for another job

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yep – as noted above in the post, you better look out if Obama mentions your company during the SOTU!

  6. HELENK3 Says:

grow up for pete’s sake. Another equal branch of government invited the man to speak.
do not know how to tell you this but you are only 1/3 of our government. guess they missed that in constitutional classes

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

How incredibly INFANTILE. The House has EVERY right to invite whomever they damn well please to speak to them. And the PM of Israel has a WHOLE lot to say abt what is going on with its neighbors since it affects it DIRECTLY.

UGH – Obama will meet with some green lipped fruit loops bathing woman, but not with Netanyahu – what a child. What a tantrum throwing, arrogant, petulant child.

    • HELENK3 Says:

backtrack bunch tell Netanyahu ” there will be a price”

this gives me hope for the future

Oh, boy – no kidding. WOW. That is quite the assertion, and the way he said it, too, was mincing NO words!

    stolen from the crawdad hole

pelosi covered up government role in housing crisis

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Shocking, just SHOCKING! Ahem. I love that the Dems are now playing that old song abt getting everyone mortgages even if they can’t afford them. Isn’t that EXACTLY what caused the housing problems before?! Franks and Dodd with Fannie and Freddie caused a whole lotta trouble, and now the Dems are acting like not doing the same thing all over again is a BAD thing.

doing the job they are paid to do

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Holy smokes – that is INCREDIBLE, and incredibly telling abt who the REAL Party of NO was. As always, the Democrats call Republicans the name that best fits Dems so everyone turns their focus on Reps. Amazing how often that smoke and mirrors thing works…

  23. HELENK3 Says:

  24. HELENK3 Says:

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Wow, I heard that on Fox, but I SURE didn’t expect NBC to report that! Ahahahaha! And here Obama is going around talking abt what good friends they were, and changing his plans to go there when the king didn’t even like him!!
