Same-O, Same-O, And Even Worse *Open Thread*

That would be what electing Hillary Clinton would be for this country, as this brilliant Branco cartoon from Legal Insurrection portrays perfectly:

I think that about says it all, but there are even more reasons coming out of the woodwork now as the candidates for President are speaking out about Clinton and her tremendous amount of baggage, as well as potentially illegal acts (like wiping her email server squeaky clean, the only thing about her that is).

One such candidate is Sen. Rand Paul who mentioned a couple of weeks ago that something was about to come out about Hillary that was particularly damning. Well, the news is out now, and yeah, it ain’t good. From BizPacReview:

[…] Last week, in a speech to the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, the Kentucky Republican and presidential candidate said, “There’s going to be stuff coming out about the Clinton Foundation and their donations from different companies that get special approval from the secretary of state. Coming out in the next couple of weeks,” Bloomberg reported.

According to The New York Times, that “stuff” is a book titled “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,” by Peter Schweizer.

Schweizer investigated donations made to the Clinton Foundation by foreign entities.

“We will see a pattern of financial transactions involving the Clintons that occurred contemporaneous with favorable U.S. policy decisions benefiting those providing the funds,” the Times quoted from the yet-to-be-released book. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

I am shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you. Okay, I am not shocked that any of this happened, the financial quid pro quo
between then-Secretary of State Clinton with donations from entities to the Clinton Foundation that seemingly led to policies that were favorable to those entities. Nope, not one little bit. What DOES surprise me though is that it is coming out NOW.

I say that because we all remember how the JournoListers conspired to withhold information on then-Sen. Barack Obama, how they worked tirelessly to gin up lies and innuendo about then-Governor Sarah Palin, how the LA Times STILL hasn’t released a video of Khalid Rashidi that does not look at ALL good for Obama, and so many more stories that were swept under the rug lest they affect The One’s coronation. (If you are wondering why Khalid Rashidi is important in this discussion, especially in relation to Israel, click here.)

So, yeah, just surprised that some of this stuff is coming out now when it might actually make a difference to those thinking people who do not just vote for the letter at the end of the name but for the most qualified candidate.

Meanwhile, people at the Far Left of the Democratic Party keep bringing up the academic-turned-US Senator-who-lied-about-her-Cherokee-history-and-received-money-and-advantages-as-a-result, Elizabeth Warren as a possible candidate. The Daily Signal has a very interesting piece on just what happens to the states that have embodied the Warren message. I’ll give you a hint – it hasn’t worked out well for them. From The Daily Signal:

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren recently appeared on one of the late night talk shows, beating the class warfare drum and arguing for billions of dollars in new social programs paid for with higher taxes on millionaires and billionaires. In recent years, though, blue states such as California, Illinois, Delaware, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland and Minnesota adopted this very strategy, and they raised taxes on their wealthy residents. How did it work out? Almost all of these states lag behind the national average in growth of jobs and incomes.

So, if income redistribution policies are the solution to shrinking the gap between rich and poor, why do they fail so miserably in the states?

The blue states that try to lift up the poor with high taxes, high welfare benefits, high minimum wages and other Robin Hood policies tend to be the places where the rich end up the richest and the poor the poorest.

Gee, you don’t say! What a surprise? Who coulda seen THAT coming?? Oh, wait, I know – all of us. And one state leads the way in demonstrating these failed policies. I bet you can guess which one, but here is the answer:

California is the prototypical example. It has the highest tax rates of any state. It has very generous welfare benefits. Many of its cities have a high minimum wage. But day after day, the middle class keeps leaving. The wealthy areas such as San Francisco and the Silicon Valley boom. Yet the state has nearly the highest poverty rate in the nation. The Golden State, alas, has become the inequality state.

In a new report called “Rich States, Poor States” that I write each year for the American Legislative Exchange Council with Arthur Laffer and Jonathan Williams, we find that five of the highest-tax blue states in the nation—California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois—lost some 4 million more U.S. residents than entered these states over the last decade. Meanwhile, the big low-tax red states—Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Arizona and Georgia—gained about this many new residents.

So much for liberal policies creating a workers paradise. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Indeed, yet this is the person the Lefty Democrats want to run the show as if what we have had for the past 6 years isn’t bad enough along those lines, or as if Hillary wouldn’t continue a number of those illogical, inept, and sometimes dangerous (consider the VA and IRS), policies and practices.

But hey, I don’t want to leave you on such a downer note, so I want to leave you with a link about Gov. Scott Walker. This has to do with a speech Walker gave recently in New Hampshire that is receiving a great deal of praise as he continues his candidacy for President. He is definitely someone I could support, I can say without reservation. Legal Insurrection has the article, which contains some links to other good articles about Walker’s speech. Hopefully that will give you some hope…

Ha! I hope that’s some really high fiber cereal, because the truth seems to be a bit plugged up at the moment.

  2. kenoshamarge Says:

I suspect more truth about Hillary Clinton will ooze out since the media doesn’t really have a slobbering love affair with her as they did with Obama. In spite of her “inevitability” she seems to be losing ground not gaining it.

I also suspect that the youth vote will not turn out for Grandma Hillary as they did for a fresh young face from Illinois in 2008. He had nothing but recommend him but the color of his skin and yet he whipped Hillary easily.

The party helped him defeat her in the primaries and there are still black voters who resent her. (How dare she run against a black man?) Will they now give their all for her since its her turn? Time will tell.

Meanwhile thanks to her silly logo the cartoons practically draw themselves.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

LOL abt the logo – that is perfect!!!

I hope you are right, Marge. There is so, so much abt her that should be of great concern to all Americans, things that DO make a difference, if you ask me.

And I imagine you are right abt the youth vote, too.

I’ll be damned – the Obama White House actually condemned the brutal slaughter of more Christians by ISIL. Of course, they refused to say they were Islamist terrorists responsible for this atrocity:

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I spoke too quickly. I just saw the video where reporters were asking Obama abt the Christians killed in Libya, and Obama just kept responding, “Thank you everybody.” He REFUSED to answer it. How hard would it have been to say, “what happened was an atrocity and I condemn it in the strongest language possible”? WOW. So yeah, he left it to Josh Earnest to do…

How is it that the Muslim Student Assoc., with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, has been able to even get things scheduled at an Ohio high school like the “Wear a Hijab” Day (my paraphrase)? I don’t get it. They have canceled it now, but how are they getting these things in ANYWAY?? Wow. From Breitbart (h/t White House Dossier):

one more thing I like about Walker, he is smart enough to investigate and find out about important things to Americans

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yes, he is. I like Walker a lot and would be more than happy to have him as President. I think he would help turn this country around by doing what needs to be done – rolling up his sleeves and getting to work.

I know Marge and piper would be unhappy to lose him as Governor, but just think what the country as a whole would gain! 🙂

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, what an AWESOME use of our tax dollars – NOT. WTH??? This just highlights the stupidity of Obama’s insistence to release these terrorists from Gitmo. What a MORONIC thing to do.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

Stupidity is epidemic, as if throwing taxpayer dollars around, in the Obama Administration.

How about the idea from the State Department to pay Iran a 50 BILLION dollar “signing” bonus if they agree to the lunatic “deal” Kerry has proposed? The dumb goes on…

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That is just OBSCENE. We are cutting back on the military in a big way because of money while this Administration throws it away toward terrorist regimes like this. It is deplorable. Ugh. Makes me sick…

Roger Simon on the “Hillary habit”

Whatever You Think About Hillary, It’s Worse!

How to quit the Hillary habit.

None of my liberal friends like to talk politics anymore. They have nothing to say and it’s obvious why. Liberalism… or progressivism — people who wish to make the distinction can go ahead, but I find it trivial — they’re just different degrees of a self-serving lie…. liberalism, in the immortal words of Preston Sturges, “is not only dead, it’s decomposed.” (Sturges was referring to chivalry.) Not only is there no there there (as Gertrude Stein said of Oakland), there’s no there there there there to the tenth power.

I asked a liberal the other day what liberalism was, what exactly it was he supported, and he was stunned that I asked, and then he was just stunned. He didn’t know how to answer because he didn’t have one. It was just a habit. (Oh, I forgot. He said he didn’t like Republicans, which of course is no defense of liberalism, just contempt… with a soupçon of habit.)

And speaking of habits, that’s what Hillary Clinton is. No one, including Hillary, knows why she is running for president. Oh, yes, I think she mumbled something about making things better for the middle class from her tony Chappaqua redoubt, tennis court and bathrooms en suite. (Hey, give the lady a break — she flew coach at least once in the last twenty years.) It reminds me of a famous line from Daniel Cohn-Bendit of the Six de Nanterre that inspired the French student revolt of ’68 — “I want a revolution where everyone can drink cappuccino at the Café Royal.” Hillary could revise it. ”I want a revolution where everyone can eat a burrito bowl at Chipotle and not tip!” Tips are so bourgeois.

I can’t remember if I posted this or not. If I did, sorry.

Most residents of Wisconsin or the rest of the country know nothing about these “raids” or the corruption and misconduct of the Democrats in our state. MSM are, as usual, strangely silent about such behavior by the left.

Democrats used law enforcement to “punish” Scott Walker supporters as well as other conservatives. It was and is an ongoing disgrace and until these thugs are brought to justice and the practice forever stopped we live in fear here.

Realize, if it can happen here, it can happen in your state too.

This behavior is why I know that Scott Walker is tough enough for a national campaign. He’s used to dealing with the thugs on the left.

Wisconsin’s Shame: ‘I Thought It Was a Home Invasion’

They came with a battering ram.”

Cindy Archer, one of the lead architects of Wisconsin’s Act 10 — also called the “Wisconsin Budget Repair Bill,” it limited public-employee benefits and altered collective-bargaining rules for public-employee unions — was jolted awake by yelling, loud pounding at the door, and her dogs’ frantic barking. The entire house — the windows and walls — was shaking.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I saw this at Facebook and a couple of other sites had it. Disturbing, that. And yes, if it can happen in WI, we should all be afraid.

I continue to be amazed at the depths to which Dems will sink. I know I shouldn’t be, but I cannot even conceive of some of the dirty, underhanded moves they make. I am grateful for that, though – their depravity seems to know no bounds when trying to take people down…

Oh, SNAP – this reporter’s response to Harf is spot on (and how this woman still has such a high level position is staggering):

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Harf is just one of many who are an embarrassment. Being able to parrot administration “talking points” hardly seems adequate for the position she holds. Her and far too many others to count.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

True that, Marge – she most definitely is an embarrassment, and nothing more than a parrot (though that maligns parrots! 🙂 ).
