Queen And King Of Denial *Open Thread*

by

I continue to marvel at the ability of people to make claims that fly in the face of all evidence and, well, REALITY. Yet, the past few days have given us some glaring examples of just that ability that are staggering considering not just the facts, but the actions, of some deplorable people.

Which leads me to The “Queen” of Denial. That would be the Federal Prosecutor who handled the Dzohkhar Tsarnaev case, Carmen Ortiz. Ms. Ortiz, for reasons that escape me – other than toeing the absurd Obama Administration Party Line – had this pronouncement to make after the sentencing of this radical Islamist terrorist. From IJ Review:

[…] Even in the wake of horror and tragedy, we are not intimidated by terror or radical ideals…make no mistake.

The defendant claimed to be acting on behalf of all Muslims. This was not a religious crime, and it certainly does not reflect true Muslim beliefs. It was a political crime, designed to intimidate, and to coerce the United States…

The defendant was an adult who came to believe in an ideology of hate, and he expressed those beliefs by killing, maiming, and mutilating innocent Americans on Patriot’s Day.”

I’m sorry, is she a Prosecutor or an Islamist Apologist? As far as I can tell, she has no Theology degrees, and apparently, no reading comprehension considering the note written in Tsarnaev’s own hand:

[…] “I’m jealous of my brother who [has received] the reward of jannutul Firdaus (inshallah) before me. I do not mourn because his soul is very much alive. God has a plan for each person. Mine was to hide in this boat and shed some light on our actions.

I ask Allah…to allow me to return to him and be among all the righteous people in the highest levels of heaven. He who Allah guides no one can misguide. A[llahu Ak]bar! I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is his messenger… […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Here’a a little newsflash for the Prosecutor: Tsarnaev is a radical Islamist TERRORIST, and his actions most definitely relate to his version of Islam whether she likes it or not. She can say until she is blue in the face that this wasn’t a religious ideology, but it just makes her look ignorant, incompetent, out of her depth, and a liar. Why Ortiz even felt compelled to make this statement is beyond me, but I imagine it has something to do with her being appointed by President Obama. Whatever the reason, she turned a moment that should have been one of justice for the families and victims of this Terrorist into a botched attempt to revise reality. It ain’t working – Tsarnaev made his point abundantly clear without this pathetic attempt to shift blame.

In another massive attempt to revise history and deny reality, we have the King of Denial, Pope Francis. Pope Francis met with the Palestine Authority Chair, Mahmoud Abbas, over the weekend. And – wait for it – the Pope awarded him with the Angel of peace Medallion (h/t Facebook friend).

Yes, you read that right, the “Angel of Peace” Medallion. From United With Israel:

Pope Francis warmly embraced Palestinian Authority (PA) Chair Mahmoud Abbas during his visit at the Vatican on Saturday, and, according to some news reports, called him an “angel of peace.” It appears, however, that the Pope only wished Abbas success in becoming an angel of peace. Earlier in the week, the Vatican announced that it would recognize the non-existing state of Palestine.

[…]

Francis said he thought the gift was appropriate. During his 2014 visit to Israel and the “West Bank” (Judea and Samaria), Francis called both Abbas and then-Israeli President Shimon Peres men of peace.

The meeting underscored the Holy See’s warm relations with the Palestinians as it prepares to canonize two 19th-century nuns from the region. The nuns are referred to as “Palestinians,” although there was no discussion of a distinct Palestinian nation during their life time, during which the land was under Turkish Ottoman rule.

More revisionist history there – referring to these nuns as “Palestinian” when “Palestine” did not exist in the 19th century. Pesky little facts – whatever…

But speaking of Christians, just how have Christians fared under the rule of the Palestinian Authority? I bet you could guess, but the article makes it clear:

[…] Church officials are holding up the new saints as a sign of hope and encouragement for Christians in the Middle East at a time when violent persecution from Islamic terrorists has driven many Christians from the region of Christ’s birth and when Israel is the only safe haven for Christians in the area. Ironically, since the PA took control in the areas under its governance, the Christian population has shrunk dramatically.

Uh, yeah – no kidding it has. The irony is just staggering, especially when you consider the history of Mahmoud Abbas:

[…] Abbas, throughout his life, has been far from an “angel of peace.” The theme of his doctoral dissertation was “The Other Side: The Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism,” in which he argued that the Holocaust had been exaggerated. He further claimed that those Jews who were murdered by the Nazis were actually victims of a Zionist-Nazi plot.

Abbas provided the funds that facilitated the 1972 Munich massacre during which members of the Israeli team at the Munich Olympic Games were taken hostage and which ended in the murder of 11 Israeli athletes and coaches as well as a German policeman by Palestinian terrorists.

In 1985, he went into hiding in Yugoslavia after avoiding international justice mechanisms in Rome, which were onset by his involvement with the Achille Lauro hijacking terror attack.

Since taking power in the PA in 2005, Abbas has repeatedly incited to violence and an armed struggle against Israel.

Most recently, the Fatah Advisory Council held a meeting in November, chaired by Abbas, at which it “saluted the heroic mass uprising and the brave spirit which is confronting, with chest bared, the settlement attack on Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.” This “heroic mass uprising” has so far claimed several Israeli lives. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

And that is just the tip of the iceberg with Abbas. It is truly troubling that the Pope would condone with this award the actions of Abbas and the PA. (It is equally troubling that the Vatican has declared Palestine a “state.”) The only possible way I can see that the Pope could come to this conclusion is a staunch refusal to look at the facts on the ground and the actions of the PA. Hence why he is the “King of Denial.”

Meanwhile, as the Queen and King continue to deny Islamic extremism, ISIS has now claimed Ramadi.

Tell me again how this isn’t about religion?

Democrats seem to feel that if they say something often enough, and the leftist media parrots what they say often enough – it will be true.

Excuse my language but I couldn’t give a rat’s ass about Prosecutor Carmen Ortiz’s opinion about anything except her area of expertise – the law.

Even then, unfortunately, far too many individuals use their role as a prosecutor as nothing more than a stepping stone for higher political office and rewards, $$$$, that go with that.

The jury saw this piece of human detritus, aka Tsarnaev as what he was, a murdering barbarian. And they sentenced him to death. Time for Ms. Ortiz to just STFU!

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Exactly – NONE of us should know what Ortiz’s personal opinion is or hear her spewing her Kool Aide infused opinion abt a TERRORIST who committed a TERRORIST attack trying to re-frame it into something her BOSS has determined is politically expedient for him and his cronies. When there is the LETTER from him making exceedingly clear from where Tsarnaev is coming, she just comes off looking like an idiot. Just ridiculous.

And yeah, thank heavens the people saw him for who he truly is – a radicalized Islamist extremist (and if this Administration wasn’t so insanely wrong abt all of this, they may have had the DOJ investigate the mosque to which the Brothers went – they have some major connections there: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/04/23/boston-mosque-radicals/2101411/).

      • mcnorman Says:

BTW if Tsarnaev had been black, I am positive that zero would have addressed him as one of his misguided sons.

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Literally made me LOL, mcnorman! 🙂

        • kenoshamarge Says:

No doubt in my mind that he would have. Too bad POTUS doesn’t have the same kind of compassion and concern for the deserving people of this country and the world as he does for the garbage people.

    • mcnorman Says:

if they say something often enough, and the leftist media parrots what they say often enough – it will be true.

I believe that this is a Disney law of cause and effect spurred on by high use of opiods.

Here’s another woman who opens her mouth and spews nonsense.

What in the hell is the matter with these people? Is this woman really that stupid? http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/confused/question-mark-smiley-emoticon.gif

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I looked at the headline and literally shook my head – it simply does not compute. I mean, there is NO logic inherent in this claim whatsoever, never mind the sheer lunacy of such a claim. WTH is wrong with this woman??? How she EVER got to become the UN Ambassador is beyond me. WOW.

Images aren’t posting for me for some reason – I’ll try a cartoon and see how I fare.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Huh – I wonder why the images aren’t coming through? That ain’t right!

But this cartoon is – that is exactly what kids these days do…

  4. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Western Journalism has an article today abt the MSM trying to manipulate what Pope Francis said to Abbas (the IJ Review article gets it right). It also highlights that Pope Francis was not the first Pope to refer to Palestine as a state, and that is true – I mentioned that the other day in Comments, I think. But still – the level of legitimacy the Vatican is giving Palestine is disturbing indeed: http://www.westernjournalism.com/no-pope-francis-didnt-call-mahmoud-abbas-an-angel-of-peace

    • kenoshamarge Says:

It is disturbing to me too. As a Catholic it makes me sad when a Pope does things that I feel are wrong. To me this is playing politics and I don’t want the Vatican doing that.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I totally understand that, Marge. As another friend who is Catholic says, the Pope is infallible in matters of the Church, but NOT in politics.

    • GinaR Says:

As a Jew, it matters not to me that this Pope was not the first to refer to Palestine as a state. It only matters that he continues to perpetuate the lie. There are no historical Palestinian people because there is no historical state of Palestine; most of the people living in what is being called Palestine are Jordanians who were refused reentry into the country now called Jordan and who were, instead, dumped into a refugee camp in an effort to turn the world against Israel (which seems, after all these years, to have worked). To legitimize an area of land controlled by terrorists is despicable, especially when done by the spiritual leader of Catholics around the world, and no matter if he was the first or is the last. Once again, the Church (and I don’t mean all Catholics but their leadership) sides against Jews in favor of those who desire the annihilation of Jews.

  5. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

    Another great Branco cartoon: http://s3.legalinsurrection.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/George-Steph-600-LI.jpg

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Terrific cartoon but why didn’t it “show” up other than as a jpeg ?

      • kenoshamarge Says:

Mine showed up using the same url – how come?

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Honestly? It beats the hell out of me! 🙂 I am just glad it showed up when you did it – it’s priceless!

        • kenoshamarge Says:

It is a great cartoon! I just can’t figure out why you posted it, I copied it and then it showed up. It is all very confusing.

I get cartoons from a site called “GoComics.com but seldom brought any here because they never “showed up”. You could click on the link and see them but I want them to show.

I discovered that the “link” from GoComics.com did not end in a jpg or a gif and that if I just added jpg to the end they showed up fine. I’m sure some tech savvy person knows why. I just know that I, in my ignorance, made something work the way I wanted it to and that’s fine with me.

          • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

You got me – it’s just crazy, isn’t it? But smart to figure out what you needed to add from gocomics.com. You sure find some great ones!

  6. mcnorman Says:

The Pope is nuts. Then again, he came from one of the worst and most corrupt Latin American countries.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I know many Catholics had high hopes for Pope Francis, and from what I gather (Marge, correct me if I am wrong), there have been some good things. But yeah – he needs to stay out of politics and focus on the faithful instead…

      • kenoshamarge Says:

Many of did have hope – but most of that is gone now. As you say, he needed to focus on the faithful and keep his Popely ass out of politics. He didn’t and the lefties are using, or parsing, his every word to prove some lefty point.

How cynical is it for those that do not “believe” to use the man many people believe to be God’s voice on earth for their agenda? I’m not one that believes he is the voice. The Pope is a man-made position and as such subject to error and flaw and bullshit.

IMO the Papacy and the Vatican make nice symbols for those that need them. I don’t.
