Is There No Difference? *Weekend Open Thread*

Whewie, what a week this has been! Hillary has been proven a liar yet again with the acknowledgement that, uh, yeah, she DID have classified information in those private server emails. Well, no duh is my reaction. Of COURSE she did. That was her primary email for her State Department business. How could she NOT have classified information on there?! Sheesh.

You could not be sentient and not know there has been tremendous outrage against the Minnesotan dentist big-game hunter who killed the beloved lion, Cecil, in Zimbabwe. This event has been drowning out just about all other news. Heck, just Friday morning, I got a petition request from a cousin demanding the hunter be extradited to Zimbabwe to face charges for killing this majestic animal, lured to his death from a preserve where he was protected. I understand the outrage, I do. It is reprehensible, no doubt about it. ALL poaching is reprehensible. As Olivia Nalos Opre penned for USA Today, poaching is NOT hunting, and all hunters know that. Whether this dentist knew for a fact that was what he was doing, or if he was duped by his guides remains to be seen. But they are all going to be held responsible in one way or another. If Mia Farrow has her way after tweeting out the dentist’s address, his retribution will come at the hands of a PETA-inflamed mob.

But – these same people aren’t screaming and sending around petitions about what is happening at Planned Parenthood. The latest video is more deplorable than the preceding three. (Oh, and about that California judge trying to block the organization revealing the depth of depravity at Planned Parenthood, perhaps she needs to review the First Amendment, as this Daily Signal article highlights.) This cartoon says it all (h/t KenoshaMarge):

To continue to prove the point, the Left don’t seem to be upset about yet another woman killed by an illegal alien from Mexico the other day in Ohio. This man, Razo, also injured another woman, and tried to rape a 14 yr old. Oh, and the Feds had let him go, too. But hells yeah, we must avenge the death of this lion. I am as upset about Cecil the handsome lion as anyone – truly. I love, love, LOVE animals. Again, though, we are talking about PEOPLE being killed here, babies – human babies – being dismembered. We need to have a little perspective, it seems to me. As horrible as losing Cecil is, it is not on the same level as what has been going on at Planned Parenthood, though that is just me.

Well, maybe not just me as this cartoon by Michael Ramirez, and kindly provided by Kenoshamarge, highlights:

Yeah, that about says it all. And it leads me to the next two stories about which you likely have not heard. Both have to do with Marilyn Mosby and her handling of the Freddie Gray case. If I hadn’t seen this in the Daily Caller, I sure wouldn’t have known it. Check this out from Daily Caller:

[…] According to The Baltimore Sun, the officers’ attorneys are claiming that the office of Baltimore city state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby has evidence that the 25-year-old Gray had “attempted to injure himself” in police custody prior to his April 12 arrest. They also claim that Mosby had a “private meeting” with the medical examiner who conducted Gray’s autopsy days before the report was released.

Mosby’s office has failed to turn that evidence over to the defense, the attorneys asserted.

“Based upon information and belief, the State’s Attorney’s Office was informed of this fact, yet failed to disclose to the Defendants any statements, reports, or other communications relating to this information,” the attorneys said of evidence that Gray has tried to harm himself during a previous arrest.

Prosecutors have also withheld “multiple witness statements from individuals who stated that Mr. Gray was banging and shaking the van at various points,” the defense claims, adding that they have also concealed “police reports, court records, and witness statements indicating that on prior occasions, Mr. Gray had fled from police and attempted to discard drugs.” […] (Click here to read the rest.)

I don’t reckon we are going to see a whole lotta outrage about this from the Black Lives Matter! people either. Why let some pesky facts get in the way of a good talking point, right?

It appears the “good” DA Mosby also did a little “judge shopping” to get one who would do her bidding as the Daily Caller reports:

[…] The Baltimore Sun reports that in a motion filed Wednesday, the cops’ attorneys said they have phone logs and text messages from April 27 showing that assistant state’s attorney Albert Peisinger reached out to Baltimore circuit court judge Timothy Doory to sign off on a search warrant for the officers’ department-issued phones. That was after a search warrant had already been denied by a different judge.

A phone log shows that Peisinger called Doory’s chambers on the morning of April 27, which was four days before Mosby announced charged against the six Baltimore officers. Peisinger was also sending text messages with a Baltimore police detective who was attempting to get a search warrant signed.

The text messages obtained by the cops’ attorneys indicate that the detective asked Peisinger if the rejected warrant could be improved in any way and then re-submitted for approval.

But Peisinger declined that suggestion, texting “we should be fine.”[…] (Click here to read the rest.)

Yeah – they aren’t talking about this on the news, are they? Nope. Then again, if you are watching network news, you wouldn’t know much about any thing else BESIDES Cecil, so there is that.

But since this is the Weekend Open Thread, I have to leave you with one video that is really kind of funny and is the origin of the title of this post. It is of Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz being asked by none other than Democratic sycophant, Chris Matthews, what the difference is between Democrats and Socialists. Her response, or lack thereof, is telling on oh-so-many levels:

Isn’t that amazing?? That is the head of the Democratic National Committee, folks! Yep! She is essentially admitting what most of us already knew – there is no difference. WOW, right?

That’s it for me. I am out of town spending time with family, and will be back on Thursday. Since I will have two kids with me (almost 11 and almost 5), chances are good I won’t get to writing another post. So, have at it! This is the Weekend Open Thread.

That DWS clip is precious. She doesn’t know what the difference is but she knows that the American People are with Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. She’s a fool, a nasty one at that, and always has been a fool. Still she isn’t as big a fool as the pinheads in Florida that vote for her.

    • foxyladi14 Says:

Seems we are a nation of pinheads.
Look Obama got elected (twice)!!!!! 😡

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Wasn’t that clip something else?? She literally could not tell Chris what the difference was, and kept trying to get away from the question to attack Republicans. I am amazed he called her on it.

Yep – another example of the Dem. Party having left ME…

  2. kenoshamarge Says:

Here’s another great Cecil the Lion vs The Lyin PP cartoon. The conservative cartoonists are doing yeoman’s work on this issue.

  3. kenoshamarge Says:

I’ve learned a few things I never knew while searching out Planned Parenthood lies…

Dead baby parts have not cured AIDS or Parkinson’s (a thing they have been promising us for decades). Further, a Google search of “fetal tissue treatment for Parkinson’s” brought up one article from 1990 in the New York Times titled “Fetal Tissue Seems to Aid Parkinson Patient.” Since then, nothing that Google can find. You would think if fetal tissue dead baby parts had created some amazing treatment for Parkinson’s patients, we would certainly know about it.

As noted by CNN, adult stem cells, where no killing is required, yield the most exciting discoveries in medical science and a simple online search finds hundreds of success stories in 2015, not 1990.

Here’s a guy who couldn’t walk, but now can, no fetal tissue dead baby parts required!

You may not recognize the name of Bart Starr but those of us here in Wisconsin do. He’s a Packer’s Hero and a good and decent man who has done a lot for his community. He also was a wonderful example of what a sport’s figure could be for young people. Unfortunately the media decided that Broadway Joe Namath. and his womanizing was a better story and we’ve been going down hill ever since.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Geraldo kept trying to make the argument abt don’t the people on “The Five” want to cure these diseases? He kept regurgitating the same thing over and over and over. He refused to listen to anything else. The others were more than a little annoyed with him, especially since they think the practices of PPF are abhorrent…

And HECK yeah, I know who Bart Starr is! Good point abt them picking the womanizer Namath instead. Sigh…

  4. kenoshamarge Says:

Planned Parenthood does so many abortions because that’s how they make the most money. Hell they don’t even have mammogram machines in any of their offices so that argument is baloney.

Dr. Michelle Cretella, president of the American College of Pediatricians (ACPEDS )

“Let’s be clear: selling organs of aborted babies for fetal tissue research is unnecessary and prolongs human suffering…

Fetal tissue research, like embryonic stem cell research, has failed to produce a single successful treatment for human disease, and both have been associated with significant side-effects including overgrowth of cells and the need for immunosuppressive chemotherapy…

Adult stem cell research, in contrast, has yielded treatments for 73 different diseases including several forms of cancer, diabetes, Parkinson’s, cardiac disease, autoimmune illnesses and more. Adult stem cells do not overgrow or require immunosuppression, and most importantly, they do not require the killing of innocent human life.”

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Thanks so much for this. Dana Perino made mention of this reality in response to Gerald’s attempts at emotional manipulation noted above.

And really – as Greg Gutfeld said, where do you draw the line? It’s okay to kill babies if it can help with Alzheimers?? No. Never mind that it doesn’t work – don’t inject facts into discussions with people like Geraldo.

      Thanks for this, Marge.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

You are most welcome. I was digging around for facts and found these. I’m afraid I fell for some of the lies too.

Now I come armed with facts and the lying pro-abortion scum like Geraldo have nothing but talking points. Wonder why the “news” media doesn’t tell the public the truth? Maybe because they, like the scum at PP think using babies for raw materials is just dandy. I don’t. I never will.

  5. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Marge, I know just what you mean. I was just telling Suzy earlier today how embarrassed I am that I just accepted some of the fodder being fed to me by the DNC. Now when I look back, it is pretty hard not to just shake my head at my own naivete…

Oh, and speaking of the Dems, check out the Obama connections of the judge who blocked the videos out in CA:

    • kenoshamarge Says:

A corrupt and perverted judiciary as well as a corrupt and perverted media leaves the American People at the mercy of a corrupt and perverted government. Many will never realize it because they can’t stop “texting” nonsense or take their cell phone out of their ear long enough to “learn” anything. Ignorance may not be bliss but it certainly is pervasive.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, I Could not agree more. Technology is great, and I am glad to have the ability to contact someone immediately in the case of an emergency, but being glued to one’s phone (or watch now) all the time is just not healthy. People are missing so much with their focus always on a text or call, and their distraction is allowing the gov’t to run roughshod all over them.

And yes, we are at the mercy of a corrupted judiciary and media. It is incredibly frustrating to those of us paying attention, and disturbing for what is happening as a result…

Given Hillary’s recent smear on the GOP, that they want to suppress black voters, I thought this interesting:

  7. kenoshamarge Says:

I have no doubt Michael Goodwin calls it right on this one.

Why Schumer will side with Obama on Iran deal

Imagine an alternative scenario. Instead of Barack Obama in the White House, it is a Republican president who negotiated the Iran deal and now demands Sen. Chuck Schumer’s support.

    What would Schumer do?

The answer is obvious — he’d say no, the deal stinks. Unfortunately, that scenario makes it just as obvious what Schumer will do in reality.

Tip O’Neill was wrong. All politics are not local. All politics are personal.

The career of Democrat Schumer is best served by standing with Democrat Obama. That is what he will do. Everything else is detail.

  8. kenoshamarge Says:

I don’t always agree with everything Derek Hunter says, but I do like the way he says it. In this case it’s both.

    The Teflon Dame

Hillary Clinton. What can be said about Hillary Clinton that hasn’t been said? Nothing, really. She’s all things to all people and nothing at the same time. She has all the excuses of her husband, but none of the charm. Aside from which restroom she uses, what exactly is her appeal?

Hearing Hillary Clinton give a speech is like sitting in on a college civics class taught by someone who thinks she’s speaking to kindergarteners.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

OHMYGOSH – that is so true – she DOES talk to people like they are a bunch of children! I have noticed that more this time around, and she has a constant sense of derision in her voice. She does not sound the same to me now as she did in 2008. There is more arrogance, I think.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

Also look carefully at her eyes. She seems angry that she even has to show up and campaign. Right to the coronation peasants. I cannot believe I ever supported this woman in any way. It all seems to obvious now.

My only excuse is that I was so angry about what the Democrat Party was willing to do to Crown King Obama that I wasn’t as careful about checking her out as I should have been.

I was also very angry with the women who talked so much about her damn pantsuit color and how certain colors or scarves were sending secret messages to her supporters. Such juvenile crap made me gag.

        * Note to self: getting angry makes you as stupid as those you are angry with for being stupid.

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I totally understand that. How the DNC acted opened my eyes in a BIG way. All those flags I ignored came waving in full relief. UGH.

And yeah – unless they are going to talk abt the men and their fashion choices on the same level, it is a superficial discussion at best. It ignores the issues/policies, which SHOULD be of importance.

LOL abt the “Note to Self.” Good point!

  9. kenoshamarge Says:

Is Kathleen Parker right? Because I think the “tipping point” is that there is no way that the left and their media lapdogs are going to be able to keep people from seeing the horror that is Planned Parenthood. And nothing she says now will put Hillary Clinton at enough of a distance from that horror, er disturbance, to do much good. I expect her to jump right back in the abattoir to save her bacon and her funding.

The tipping point on Planned Parenthood

It took three videos showing Planned Parenthood doctors and executives discussing the culling and retailing of aborted baby parts, but Hillary Clinton finally managed to say that she found the videos “disturbing.”

For a professional politician like Clinton, whose every word is vetted by the vast right lobe of her brain, “disturbing” in the vernacular of less-scripted folk would be something like “horrifying” or “vile.”

The Parker article contains some very good information on the deceptiveness of Planned Parenthood and what the Joni Ernst/Rand Paul bill would really do. Attack on women? Balderdash!

Planned Parenthood, faced with a renewed push for federal defunding (to the tune of a half-billion dollars), has begun a public relations campaign of its own. As of Friday, two ads had been released, each featuring a breast-cancer survivor who says she wouldn’t have survived without the health care she received from the organization.

    But is this true? Negligibly.

Planned Parenthood offers only a manual breast exam that any woman can do herself — and performs no mammograms. Rather, it refers women to other clinics. Thus, the ads are at least exaggerated if not purposely deceptive.

Also deceptive is the claim that defunding Planned Parenthood would strip women of health care. In fact, a Senate bill to defund Planned Parenthood, co-authored by Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), stipulates that all of its public funding be reallocated to federally qualified community health centers, which provide all women’s health-care services except abortion, without regard to a person’s ability to pay.

In other words, Planned Parenthood would still be able to provide abortions, since no federal funding can legally be used for abortion, anyway. And abortion opponents would no longer have to worry that their tax money was going to an abortion provider, even though the funds can’t legally be used for abortion.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Dangit – there you go again with all them thar facts, Marge! you KNOW certain people just don’t wanna hear them! Ahem.

I remember when I learned during the LAST election that PPF does not actually provide all of those screenings themselves, but, um, weird to use this word all things considered, but farms them out anyway. Why are we giving money to this non-profit to do something that is provided by community health centers anyway? It makes no sense to be giving them SO much taxpayer money for basically being nothing more than a clearing house. Cut out the middle women and let women go directly to their community health centers…

      Thanks for the Parker article!

      • kenoshamarge Says:

I had always accepted the “talking points” about PPF providing mammograms. I was flabbergasted to discover they do no such thing. Just another lie. Just another assault on women’s health.

If women want to take care of their health a lot of it is in their own hands. I discovered that after my poor eating choices landed me in the hospital with a triple bypass. Could have been avoided with a little common sense and self-control.

I also have no doubt that there is nothing “healthy” about having a baby/fetus whatever you want to call it, ripped from your womb. It isn’t, as they say, natural. How easily all this could be avoided by using birth control. But there too far too many women seem to think someone else needs to provide that. I am so tired of these whiny little girls. Take some responsibility for yourselves dammit! And if you can’t do that, keep you damn knees together!

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Amen to that, Marge. People need to be responsible for themselves and their own actions. And I agree, it isn’t natural at all.

It is amazing to learn now all the lies we were fed, and how organizations like PPF are protected by the Dems. Oh, the media and judiciary too, it seems as we were discussing earlier…

If Roger L Simon was looking to depress me with this post, he succeeded. I thought that no one would take an ass like Trump seriously. But then look who’s in the White House now which means a lot of voters took him seriously – twice.

“The only way to comprehend what mathematicians mean by Infinity is to contemplate the extent of human stupidity.” ~ Voltaire

    Who Could Dethrone Teflon Trump?

As I looked at the data from the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, I wondered who on the list could actually dethrone surging frontrunner Donald Trump (other than Donald himself, of course) at the debate on August 6 or even afterwards. Yes, I am aware how early it is and that Herman Cain was leading the pack at this point in the 2012 election. Nevertheless, I think we can stipulate the Trump phenomenon is considerably more significant. Something important is going on here.

America is an angrier and more divided country than I have ever seen it in my lifetime, even during the days of Vietnam. There were obviously more demonstrations then, but the split was minor by comparison. Nixon’s famous “silent majority” clearly existed. He won the 1972 election 520-17 electoral votes, outdrawing McGovern by some 18 million ballots. Nothing of that sort could happen now. We are chopped in half and neither side is talking to the other. America is in the slough of despond. Nobody’s happy except for random three year olds who haven’t had to confront anything yet. Barack Obama has left a depressed nation, one could almost say clinically. And if Hillary Clinton succeeds in getting elected (less likely now), it will be even worse. It will be the first time we have had a president that the majority of citizens thought was a liar on Inauguration Day. And they will be right.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, wow – what a great, and disturbing, post indeed. He is so right abt the despondency that seems to have settled on this country. And it most DEFINITELY is more divided, made all the more so by people like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and DWS who cannot answer a direct question – TWICE – but turns it around to the Dems. vs. Reps argument every time. It is disturbing as hell.

I really hope that Trump will fade as time goes on. I have to hope so…
