Guest Post By KenoshaMarge: “Debating The Debates” *Open Thread*

We are fortunate to have a rousing post by KenoshaMarge today in time for the first GOP Debates of the season. Time to pop some popcorn, friends – this is gonna be some ride. And here is Marge to kick it off for us:

Debating The Debates

While FOX moderators prep for “tough” debate questions the rest of the media is focused on just one candidate. The weasel in the room aka Donald Trump. If you are a Trump supporter you may not want to read any further. Because I loathe the man and have for a long time. A rich asshole is still an asshole and the thought of this disgusting man as president makes me gag.

I have watched in amazement as the Trump 3-Ring circus has grown like some monstrous joke.

I have little or no use or respect for most politicians. I have even less for a billionaire and his 3rd, or is it 4th trophy wife wanting to move into the White House. The nation’s house.

The same people who felt that Obama had not shown a proper presidential demeanor, I am one, now support Trump? Are you kidding me?

On Thursday FOX will have two debates. The first one, the so-called second-tier or “kiddies debate” is the one I’ll watch. I am very interested in seeing how Carly Fiorina does. I find her impressive.

The second, prime time debate? I’ll pass thank you very much.

I have no interest in watching the “Trump Show” anymore than I  had any interest in watching his other television show.

The fact that so much attention has been focused on this repulsive man is a complete mystery to me. I thought, I actually did, that the voters on the right were better informed and smarter than most of the voters on the left. Silly me, wrong again.

Now within a few hours the “Trump Show” will be on the air. Should be good ratings for FOX. Doesn’t matter that it’s a 3-Ring circus. Politics, even presidential elections has become less and less about governing a country and more about the latest “entertainment”.

Will Trump warble like Obama? Play the sax like Clinton? Thus far he’s only touted his talent for making money. Nice talent to have. Many people have it and many more do not. It absolutely flabbergasts me that so many voters follow these wealthy men and women. What do we have in common with them? What makes us think they care about or even understand our petty little problems? Why would we want someone who has no worries about paying the bills or getting to work on time “leading” us?

One of the things I disliked, among so many, about Obama was his constant attacks on anyone that disagreed with him. What seemed necessary for a candidate seems petty and undignified for a POTUS. The “Donald” show is far beyond any indignity I could have ever imagined from Obama. He has all ready shown us, repeatedly, that anyone that dares dis or dismiss him will be the object of his attacks.

We can rest assured that the wealthy Donald would not have to resort to Styrofoam columns. He’s rich enough, as he reminds us so often, to afford the real thing. And many on the right are following him like he’s the damn Pied Piper. The right complained about Obama and his narcissism and now the support this narcissistic clown? I just don’t get it!

Many will tune into the “top tier” debate just to see Trump. I won’t be one of them. If he does well that will be the whole story of the debate. If he does poorly that will be the whole story of the debate. I’m just not interested in any “story” about Donald Trump. Never have been – never will be. In fact I’m disgusted with myself for wasting the time it took to type this rant about him. Shame on me!

Thank you so much for this post, Marge! Please consider this the Open Thread Post for the Debates tonight, both of them if you intend, like me, to see how the second one goes (I want to see how Walker does). Like Marge, I want to see how Carly Fiorina does. She is one smart, smart woman, and I look forward to hearing more from her tonight.

Okay – it’s all yours now!

I’m betting that Carly Fiorina will do better than fine. She’s one smart cookie and always seem to have the facts at her fingertips.

I will DVR both debates. That way I can fast forward through anything I don’t care to listen to. Like Trump and Bush.

I don’t much “like” Kasich and I really don’t know why. Just something about him strikes me the wrong way. Would I, could I vote for him against any living Democrat? Absolutely. Wouldn’t even require a nose-holding vote.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I agree, I think Fiorina will be very good. I saw a guy this morning who was Romney’s debate coach and he said that debate is the one to watch. He said it will be the more serious debate of the two.

I hear you abt Kasich. He doesn’t do anything for me at all, but hell yes I could vote for him against Clinton, Biden, or Sanders in a heartbeat…

My most potent “weapons” are cartoons. I’ve always thought if you couldn’t take someone seriously it cut their effectiveness in half. Or more. So here’s another shot across Trump’s bow. Also across FOX’s bow since I think this whole thing could have been handled a lot better and then it would have, could have been a real debate not just the damn Donald Show. That’s on FOX and the rest of the MSM. The left is loving this bless their evil little hearts and their bloodstained hands.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, wow, that cartoon is good! And yeah, Fox hasn’t helped. But they aren’t the only ones. I caught some of CNN at breakfast in the hotel is morning, and Trump was gleefully discussed by them. The smug looks on their faces said it all…

Morning Foxy! How are you doing? How’s the leg?

        • foxyladi14 Says:

          Thanks for asking dear friend.
          I am doing pretty good.
The leg, and wrist also the shoulder are all healed.
          I am doing my exercises.
          How are you doing? ❤

          • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That’s good news! Glad to hear it, Foxy! 😀

          • kenoshamarge Says:

Glad to hear you are doing well. I have my good days and my bad. Today is not so good. But that’s about par for the course I guess. I’m sure it’s the same for you.

As long as I can shuffle to the computer and “talk” to my friends I’m doing well. At least my brain seems to still work most of the time. But if it wasn’t, how would I know?

Some days I’m so absentminded I could throw my own surprise party. 😉

            • foxyladi14 Says:

A big Amen to that Marge,
The only thing that kept me sane and happy, While I was in the nursing home was my little lappy toppy. 😆

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Marge, sorry to hear today isn’t such a good day, but it sure hasn’t affected your sense of humor one bit!!!

I do understand abt the good/bad days, though. I am so glad you are able to get to the computer on those hard days. At least we get to connect with you…

A little light at the end of the endless Trump tunnel?

Republicans View Rubio, Walker Most Positively on Debate Eve

PRINCETON, N.J. — Just ahead of the first official Republican debate of the 2016 presidential campaign, Republicans give Marco Rubio and Scott Walker the highest net favorable ratings among any of the major 16 candidates running for their party’s nomination, followed by Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Rick Perry. At the other end of the spectrum, George Pataki, Lindsey Graham and Chris Christie have the lowest net favorable ratings.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Well, that is some good news. I hope that as people get to know Walker (and Fiorina), they will see that there are some outstanding choices available…

Someone who’s “been” there might know a little more about being a POW than a billionaire loud mouth and a community organizer.

How We, as POWs, Responded to Communists Threatening Our Religious Liberty

The Obama administration is giving the same ultimatums to groups like Little Sisters of the Poor that we received in Vietnam.

  5. foxyladi14 Says:

Thank you Marge, For this refreshing post.
    I agree with you.
It isn’t Trump himself, That has stirred people up.
    It is his words. 🙂

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Good point, Foxy. Trump is definitely tapping into a lot of the anger we have at the DC pols. Recent actions by people like McConnell have only helped Trump. He has a lot more name recognition than someone like Carsom or Fiorina, but once people hear them speak, I hope things will shift…

      • kenoshamarge Says:

Yet for all his “surge” in the polls he is one of the ones that a majority of voters say they would absolutely NOT vote for.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I think you’re right Foxy – he’s saying some of the things that people want to hear. And in his bombastic way he seems fearless, unlike so many of the others. But the other know that one little misstep, one little word said in the wrong way and they will be hunted by the left and their media minions relentlessly.

Witness what is happening to Jeb Bush. No one with a brain believes he was saying that there was no need to spend money on women’s health but an awkward phrase gave the repulsive Hillary liar a chance to pounce on him. As Rev Amy asked yesterday, “Was this his Todd Akin moment”?

Too many of the candidates have refused to simply stake out their territory and then stick with it. No focus tested crap just where they stand. People would respect that even if they didn’t agree with it. At least that’s what I would like to see.

I just have a problem with Trump because I dislike him so much. I have for years. And his shot at Walker and saying that Wisconsin is a mess enraged me.

      • foxyladi14 Says:

We are so sick of all the lying politicians.
        All of them!!!

So his rhetoric is like a breath of fresh air.
Sad it is probably just a lot of.
        HOT AIR!!! 🙄

  6. kenoshamarge Says:

I was under the impression that “conservatives” were again “eminent domain”. The how can so many be supporting Donald Trump? Or are they just reacting to his bombast and lies?

Michelle Malkin tells us about Donald Trump’s eminent-domain empire

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That this post from Malkin is from 2011 says a whole lot. She could have written that yesterday. Thanks for this, Marge!

  7. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

More insanity from the PC Government. Now the FBI wants to do counseling for some of these crazed radical Islamists instead of, oh, I dunno, treating them like terrorists:

    • kenoshamarge Says:

The PC world is nuts. These crazed individuals want to kill people. Short and sweet and indisputable. How do you counsel that? The ones needing the counseling, IMHO, are whatever fools at the FBI that thought this was a good idea. Melvin Purvis must be rolling in his grave.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Isn’t it? It is just insane. Never mind that they completely ignore both the spirit and the law of the First Amendment, but the lack of any logic in their “policies” is astonishing…

  8. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Like we didn’t already know Lois Lerner was a total jackass, her considering going after the organization that enrolled Bristol Palin was indicative of the vindictive attitude that seems pervasive in Obama’s Administration (

But then she said this abt the South:

  9. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

There has been so much else going on these days that some of Obama’s other big moves are not getting the attention they deserve. Like his latest EPA move:

Hello. I did not fall off the face of the earth. i got a new computer and it took from last Friday until today to transfer stuff from my old computer and update the new one to windows 10. I missed you people

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

So good to hear from you, Helen – we missed you, too! Glad you got everything set up on your new computer. Cool!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Good to hear from you Helen. Whenever you aren’t around you are greatly missed. Welcome back and good luck with your new computer.

    • foxyladi14 Says:

      We sure missed you, Girlfriend.
I was wondering about you and all that rain?
How are you liking that Windows 10?? ❤

  11. helenk3 Says:

    looks like Carly kicked a$$

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yes it does, doesn’t it? And ALL of the pundits agree she won and by a lot. That makes me happy, I have to say. She really is so smart, and so knowledgeable. Sure hope she gets some real traction from this…

  12. kenoshamarge Says:

I think Carly Fiorina won the debate. I thought she was amazing. She doesn’t use talking points, she has facts at her command. And if you didn’t see it, after the debate Chris Matthews tried his crap with her in order to protect Hillary and Carly took down and shut up the drooling idiot of MSNBC. What a woman!

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, without a doubt. She was great. And this video is FANTASTIC, Marge! She handled ol’ Tingly without breaking a sweat. WOW. Thank you so much for this!

    • foxyladi14 Says:

She took him to the Wood Shed. 😆

  13. helenk3 Says:

    some insight on the debate

  14. kenoshamarge Says:

Carly Fiorina shut up the drooling idiot of MSNBC and she didn’t need to call anyone names or bluster. She just stated facts. How extraordinary. As Roger L Simon says, she was so good her ghost hung over the second debate and IMO, she beat them too.

Ron Fournier asks the Trump supporters some hard questions.

Trump Voters: Is This Really What You Want?

Watching the first debate of top-tier Republican presidential candidates, I wondered if you saw what I did: A liar, a bully, and a sexist who wouldn’t give FOX News moderators a straight answer—a celebrity billionaire who is treating your party like a trophy wife.

Donald Trump will let you decorate his arm just as long as it suits him, then he’ll toss you aside. Your candidate raised his hand when Brett Baier asked for a showing of who wouldn’t commit to supporting the eventual GOP nominee and who wouldn’t forsake an independent presidential run.

You’re standing on a GOP stage, Baier reminded Trump.

    “I fully understand.”
