Not For The Faint Of Heart – Fiorina, Clinton, And Those PP Tapes *Open Thread* UPDATED

by

Update at the end of the post.

I admit, I am struggling to write this post today. I have come up with a number of other things that would be easier to write in a way. Like the former Nobel Peace Prize Director conceding giving Obama the Nobel Peace Prize early on into his Presidency was idiotic. Gee, ya don’t say.

Or this very serious issue about the danger of ISIS infiltrating Syrian refugees. This issue was writ large when a Daily Mail reporter was able to get a bona fide Syrian passport for the low price of $2,000. He was told directly that ISIS was using them to infiltrate Europe. Freakin’ awesome.

But that is all stalling for the post I feel compelled to write because it is so disturbing. That would be the current discussion about Planned Parenthood. This goes hand in hand with the impassioned dare during the Debate Carly Fiorina put out to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton during to watch the video tapes of what Planned Parenthood is doing. Just to remind you, this is what Fiorina said:

The Left is trying to claim that Fiorina “lied,” or misspoke. That is their way of dealing with it, to claim she was wrong. Take George Stephanopoulos at ABC, for instance. From BizPacReview:

[…] “But analysts who have watched all 12-plus hours say the scene you describe – that harrowing scene you describe — actually isn’t in those tapes. Did you misspeak?” Stephanopoulos asked.

[…]

“No, I didn’t misspeak and I don’t know who you’re speaking about in terms of watching the tapes but I have seen those images,” Fiorina started.

“I don’t know whether you’ve watched the tapes, George, most people haven’t. Certainly none of the Democrats who are still defending Planned Parenthood have watched those tapes. Planned Parenthood needs to be defunded. This kind of butchery erodes at the character of our nation.”

[…]

Stephanopoulos cited Kliff as the “analyst” who accused Fiorina of misrepresenting information, because according to an article Kliff wrote, what Fiorina said happened “in the Planned Parenthood videos simply does not exist.’”

[…] “Well, you know, there’s a lot of commentary about these tapes being doctored. In fact, that’s what the mainstream media keeps talking about, is the tapes and their origin,” Fiorina fired back.

“Rest assured I have seen the images that I talked about last night.

“Rest assured that human lives are being aborted fully formed in order to harvest body parts.

“Rest assured that this erodes at the character of our nation, and once again I will say, I dare Mrs. Clinton and President Obama, two defenders of Planned Parenthood, to watch these videotapes.”

[…] (Click here to read the rest.)

Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist also addressed the claim that Fiorina was, at best, wrong, and at worst, lying:

[…] On the other hand, CNN said that Fiorina’s claim was true but said it was misleading, since part if it is eyewitness testimony and part of it is images of aborted children. Others went full truther, such as this media outlet, which called it “totally made up.” Sarah Kliff, who gained fame for defending her failure to cover the story of Kermit Gosnell — a serial murderer and abortion doctor who snipped babies spinal cords after they were delivered — on the grounds it was just a “local crime” story), published a piece at Vox headlined “Carly Fiorina is wrong about the Planned Parenthood Tapes. I know because I watched them.”

There have been 10 videos exposing Planned Parenthood since July. The media have struggled to cover most of the them, even though they are full of scandalous information about human organ harvesting. In addition to the 10 videos, lengthier footage of the hours-long meetings from which they were gleaned is also available. Everyone who cares about humanity should watch these videos, which are available here.

[…]

As for Fiorina’s quote, she is likely referring to the entirety of the 10 videos, including the seventh video released by the Center for Medical Progress. Watch the full video for yourself. It does, in fact, show a fully formed fetus, heart beating and legs kicking. And it shows this while Holly O’Donnell, a former organ harvester who worked for StemExpress at a Planned Parenthood affiliate, graphically discuss the harvesting of a brain from a baby whose heart was beating. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

So no, Fiorina did not lie, did not obfuscate, and did not try to deceive. Rather thanvactually address the issue at hand – and it pains me to even write this – cutting open an infant’s face to get to its brain – the Left is trying to shoot the messenger and impugn her credibility rather than address the issue at hand: the abhorrent practices of Planned Parenthood in harvesting and selling baby organs/parts.

To that end, when asked about Fiorina’s dare, this is what Hillary Clinton said (at the beginning of this video, so you don’t have to watch the rest):

In other words, no, Clinton has not watched these abhorrent videos about Planned Parenthood. Rather, Clinton perpetuates the meme that Planned Parenthood is important for women’s health, and to cut funding would damage women.

Well, Rep. Martha Roby had something to say about that very point during the House debate (h/t The Federalist):

The Federalist backs up Rep. Roby’s claims about both clinics and Planned Parenthood:

[…] Planned Parenthood didn’t perform any mammograms last year, and they performed few pap tests in comparison to community health centers. Increasing funding to health centers that actually provide more services for women and outnumber Planned Parenthood locations by 20-1, means more health services in more locations for women. Pro-abortionists keep pretending like they care about women’s health, but it’s painfully obvious that the issue is really about funding abortion services, which really isn’t health care at all. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Yes, despite the claims of the Left that this is ALL about women’s health, the reality is, it is not. Part of it may be, like when they actually provide Pap smears, but there are plenty of other options that do not, as Rep. Roby highlighted, perform abortions. So why is our money, over half a billion a year, going to the one organization that DOES provide them?

And one that engages in the grotesque behavior as outlined by this survivor of a late-term abortion at the House Hearing (WARNING: graphic images in this video):

This woman survived this procedure, a true miracle, and only because the abortionist hadn’t gotten to work yet.

Which brings it back around to the question Carly Fiorina posed: what does it say about the CHARACTER of this country that we ALLOW these kinds of things to happen, that we care more about whether the actual fetus represented in the video having its brain removed was a miscarriage (h/t Facebook friend) while a worker was giving a voice-over that this happenings with aborted fetuses than being an aborted fetus while failing to acknowledge this: IT WAS AN INFANT HAVING ITS BRAIN REMOVED THROUGH ITS FACE.

It is about character, our character, the character of our nation, and what we have become that we can dismiss a vile, abhorrent practice such as this in an attempt to take down a political candidate. Talk about missing the forest for the trees. And talk about misplacing any sense of moral, or ethical, outrage.

I am just sick about this – sick at what we have become. It is about character – and we damn well better change ours.

This is an Open Thread.

UPDATE: The Federalist has an outstanding overview of the PP videos, and who is lying: Fiorina, or the Media. Wanna guess which one is right? Yep. Fiorina.

The Federalist also makes clear that the baby in the video was NOT stillborn or a miscarriage, as some outlets are trying to claim. Obviously, it was not the SAME baby about which the Stem Express worker was speaking, but it was the same age as the one the employee described, according to The Federalist.

Clearly, the Left and the media would rather lie through their teeth than address these heinous actions by Planned Parenthood…

I hope that Fiorina continues to hammer away at this issue and I hope that conservative female politicians continues to call the left and their media stooges out of this issue.

I haven’t watch all of the tapes. I simply cannot. The sight of a tiny hand sticking up out of a petri dish is so grotesque, so horrendous, that I could go no further. Any woman, no any person who can see such things and still be pro-abortion is just as much a monster as those that do it.

I was pro-choice for many years. I didn’t even know there was such as thing a “late-term” abortion. Once I knew that pro-choice changed to pro-choice in the first trimester and pro-life thereafter. It is still not what I want, which is no abortions except when the life of the mother is at stake or in the case of rape or incest, but what I believe shouldn’t be forced on others.

Infanticide however isn’t a “choice”, it’s murder. Willful, acknowledged murder of a child by it’s mother. Who can possibly defend that?

And finally I believe that in this year of our Lord 2015 abortions aren’t necessary except in the cases of rape, incest or when the life of the mother is at stake. Abortions are birth control used by women too stupid and lazy to take a pill or have some other form of birth control ready should they have sex.

And abortions aren’t about health. That is the biggest lie of all as Congresswoman Martha Roby so eloquently said.

It took the world a long time to understand and admit what Dr. Mengeles, other so-called medical personnel and Nazis did in their reign of hate and evil. What is happening now with PP and this experimentation is nothing more than the evil perpetrated back then.

In some ways I’m glad that I’m as old as I really am watching and living thru these times wondering if our so-called betters and snowflakes realize that if certain groups like the Islamics impose Sharia Law on us – what behaviors/practices will be consequated at what cost to us. Will feeeeeewings matter or silly hashtags?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Marge, you said it – it is murder. There is no other way to look at what these soulless barbarians are doing with these infants, as well as the mothers who allow this to happen to their babies, far past the first trimester. It is simply breathtaking in its depravity.

I admit, I can’t watch the videos in their entirety, either. I did watch the entire testimony of the “botched abortion” survivor, though. Honestly, I was in tears as she described what they do to these later-term abortions (read: infanticide). WHO comes up with these things???

Which leads to piper’s good comment. Yes, it is hard to consider what is going on now with PP as being any different from what the Nazis perpetrated against millions of people fifty years ago. One would think we would learn and evolve. It seems the only evolution is how to make profit off of the heinous acts they are committing…

I agree with Carly’s statement that: ” This kind of butchery erodes at the character of our nation.”

However I would take it further. I think it erodes the soul of our nation. I think it tells us that we are not the good people we thought we were, think we are, and want to be.

We need to rethink all that if we allow such despicable things to be done in our name and with our money.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Good points – and yes, it does erode at the soul of the nation. Not only that it is happening, but that too many either ignore it, or worse, DEFEND it, like Clinton, et. al…

Absolutely – we do need to rethink what we are doing and allowing to happen in our name…

  5. kenoshamarge Says:

As for Clinton, every day in every way we are finding out that she was never the person we thought she was and that we supported. We may feel shame that we supported her but at least we can be proud that we learned better. Some are still that foolish.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Amen to that – and thank you for framing it that way. Yes, we did learn, and knew we could never support this woman again after finding out who she really is. It still boggles the mind that there are so many who continue to support her…

  6. helenk3 Says:

    random thought

were some of the babies killed and sold for parts female? Would they have grown up to be women? What about their health?
all this bs about how we have to fund PP for women’s health is just nonsense and a phony excuse.

Are you kidding me with this?? WTH is wrong with her?? More to the point, what is wrong with the people who continue to give her a platform (like the Obamas sending their daughter her way)?? WOW.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

YES, you said it, Helen! It is thoroughly disturbing that young people look up to “performers” like her, or Lena Dunham (hell, throw in Miley Cyrus, too). Good grief…

    Go Carley Go. 😀

  10. mcnorman Says:

We have become oblivious to what is in front of us.

    • mcnorman Says:

Carly survived breast cancer and the loss of her child. I think that is what makes her so adamant about faith and determination. HRC has a spouse that is a philanderer. Huma has a perv for a spouse. So different.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Great point, mcnorman – they are such totally different women, there is just no comparison. Carly has said that her faith helped sustain her when her daughter died, and sustains her still.

And yes, we have become oblivious, or numb, or in denial abt what is going on in front of us with OUR money (like the 4 – 5 Syrian rebels on whom we have spent millions all while cuting our OWN military).

  11. mcnorman Says:

Women Tx bitched and moaned about having centers that provide abortions be certified at certain levels. What they didn’t know or understand is that the physician doing this procedure could encounter a serious problem requiring transfer to a hospital. The legislature wrote that they must have privileges to go to those facilities to care for these patients. Many of the local guys doing these procedures were working part time and were did NOT have privileges at these hospitals in case an emergency arose. The legislature was doing something to protect women from the likes of Kermit Gosnell.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, wow – good for the Legislature for trying to make sure a Gosnell could not operate in Texas. It is still astonishing to me that such heinous crimes were committed by this man in Philly, a big time city, and the coverage was scant (to put it mildly).

Anyway – interesting – thank you!

  12. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I just saw on Outnumbered that Donald Trump claims to be a victim of a double standard in commenting on women’s looks. He brought up Firoina’s hot mic comment abt Barbara Boxer’s hair as if it is anywhere CLOSE to comparable to what he does on a daily basis. Good grief, there is a MASSIVE difference between something Fiorina said FIVE YEARS AGO that was a flip comment not meant for public distribution, and Trump’s relentless name-calling, put downs, belittling, demeaning, and bullying of ANYONE who dares to stand up to him. There is simply no comparison.

His victim claims are just preposterous. WOW.

    • helenk3 Says:

humming ” Charile Brown” very loudly

    • kenoshamarge Says:

So the big tough guy is now a “victim”? What a POS!

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Can you believe that? It is the same thing he did to Megyn Kelly – acted like she was so mean to him because she asked a question (some of his minions continue to rail against her). To try and compare the crap he has said and continues to say to people to a flip comment abt a hairstyle is absurd. But to cry victim is just laughable.

Well, I am glad to see they actually did it. And they are doing just what Fiorina suggested – pass it, and make Obama veto it. If I was the RNC, I would start making ads with all of those videos (what can be shown on air, that is), and just run them for weeks on end. Make the Dems defend these doctors talking abt what they get for baby parts. And wanting Lamborghinis. Just a thought…

Because that is what gave rise to teh won. It’s been going on since the troll moved into the WH with baby barack. Yes, it was a first.

I am thoroughly opposed to this waste of taxpayer money. Then again, I don’t think that the taxpayer should be footing Michelle’s 27 assistants either. Call me cheap.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yep, mcnorman is absolutely right – this has been going on for some time, and no doubt, because ValJar is the real Leader. I have no doubt, and seem to recall, that ValJar insisted upon it. She has elevated herself mighty high for a woman who wasn’t ever elected or voted upon for her position…

Carly Fiorina Brilliantly Defied the Unofficial Rules of the Abortion Debate

For years, the mainstream media, pop culture, and the conventions of politics have jammed pro-life politicians and activists into a box. In this, the most consequential of debates, in which millions of innocent lives hang in the balance, it is imperative that one not show too much emotion, that one be nice — not scary. A politician can thunder about income inequality, about manufacturing jobs, or about a degree or two on the thermometer, but when it comes to babies being dismembered in the womb, let’s just be civil, shall we?

    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/424197/carly-fiorina-prolife-debate-planned-parenthood

Civil my ass! Those that do this are monsters and those that support what they do are monsters. No soft pedaling it, no “making nice”, no bullshit. Monsters supporting monsters. And one sits in the White House. Another is running for that job. Another is the Minority leader of the House of Representatives and calls herself a Catholic.

Odd how the left can see and rail against supposed evil of the United States and yet can defend dissecting a tiny human being like a frog in a biology class. You could call them hypocrites but that just isn’t a big enough word anymore. Monsters works for me.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

“Be civil” – uh, yeah, okay. WTH??

Great comment, Marge. I am glad that Fiorina has shone a bright light on these horrific events by PP. But that their main intent is to attack Fiorina (Greg Gutfeld just echoed how telling that is) rather than address what is happening, says so much abt their mindset. It is truly disturbing.

      Yep – “monster” is accurate…

does the msm know that the other candidates had a meeting today and gave speeches about themselves to voters. trump was not there but every hour on the hour the only story has been about a person asking trump about backtrack being a muslim.
    whats up with that?

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Brett Baier admitted on Special Report that he was getting many emails and tweets asking why they were focusing on this non story.

I dislike Trump a bunch but I just saw it as a clumsy mishandling of a provocative question by someone not used to Townhall Meetings. This is the kind of media crap that makes people mistrust them so much. A whole day spent hyperventilating about nothing.

Hillary’s grandstanding remark about it was beyond hypocritical. What a disgusting person she’s turned out to be.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I agree – it was stupid, and overblown. Not for nothing, but Obama’s supporters have said some amazingly hateful things abt Hillary back in the 2008 campaign, and Obama just smirked. No one went ballistic over that. Hell, Obama said a bunch of crap abt Bush, and people cheered.

As for Hillary, after attacking the Reps the way she has, for her to now try and take the high ground is just laughable.

  24. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I have to say, I am more than a little disappointed in Scott Walker for claiming that essentially the fix was in for the media to claim Fiorina won the debate. TRUMP I expected that crap from, so that surprised me not one bit. He is a big, whiny, baby. But Walker?? Wow. No, Fiorina was declared the winner because she was the winner!!
