And We Are Going To Admit Them WHY, Exactly? More Questions Than Answers, And Poor Leadersip Continues *Open Thread*

by

As I noted for the weekend post, Suzy and I had a busy, but fun, weekend planned, culminating in the Straight No Chaser concert last night (Sunday). Here is my favorite mash-up from the night:

Fun, right? To think this all started for them when they were at Indiana University back in the mid-90’s!

It was a great evening (with the exception of the Giants losing to the Pats by ONE POINT), with delicious Thai food before the very fun, entertaining, energetic concert.

On the way home, we were listening to Judge Jeanine Pirro’s special show from Paris. One of her guests was Ambassador John Bolton. Amb. Bolton said something that was mind boggling. He said that there is an agreement between many nations on how to deal with refugees in countries dealing with internal strife. The first step, he said, was to build refugee camps INSIDE the country. That did not happen in Syria. Why not, was our immediate response.

Why WEREN’T refugee camps built there first? The United States ALONE has given those affected by the strife there $4.5 BILLION over just 4 years. Yet, over 800,000 refugees are pouring out of Syria into primarily Europe. Amb. Bolton said that Turkey facilitated this diaspora by allowing the refugees to flood through their country into the European Union nations, this allowing a massive influx of Muslims into primarily Christian countries.

I should add, UNVETTED Muslims into European countries. Not to cast aspersions against all Muslims, of course, but we know that ISIS has infiltrated these refugees. How? They TOLD us so. And after the horrendous terrorist attacks in Paris over the weekend, including by one such terrorist “refugee,” it seems they were telling the truth.

That terrorist, by the way, had a fake Syrian passport. You might recall I wrote about the vast number of fake Syrian passports being used by many of the people flooding into Europe recently. The Daily Mail reporter, Nick Fagge, who exposed these fake passports, said today that they could not be told apart from the real thing by EXPERTS:

[…] And Philip Davis, MP for Shipley, told MailOnline: ‘This should be a warning to us all. We should not be surprised that ISIS is using the easiest method to get into Europe.
‘People who believe that we should let anyone into Europe who claim to be Syrian should reflect on the events in Paris for a few moments.

‘Of course we want to help genuine refugees who are fleeing for their lives but we want to keep ourselves safe as well.’

A MailOnline reporter was able to buy a Syrian passport, identity card and driving licence from a fraudster in a Turkish border town in September this year.

The passport book was genuine, stolen from Syria when blank. The forger added the reporter’s picture and gave him the identity of a Syrian man from Aleppo who was killed last year.
The other papers – the identity card and the driving licence – supported the false identity and gave credibility to a claim for asylum in Europe.

The documents were bought for $2,000 and were ready in just four days. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

And yet, Ben Rhodes claims we would be vetting all these refugees coming in. Oh, really? HOW?!?! How in the HELL are we going to vet them properly before allowing them into our country? These refugees cannot possibly be vetted properly in such a short time, despite the moronic claims by Ben Rhodes, the Deputy National Security Advisor (a plum job for a failed fiction writer) over the weekend. His claims were so mind-numbingly idiotic, even Jake Tapper looked disgusted as he spoke with Rhodes (h/t BizPacReview):

So, yeah, Ben – what’s the plan for telling the real refugees from ISIS terrorists, terrorists who have been telling us REPEATEDLY that they plan to attack us here, on our own soil? When we have our intelligence agencies already investigating ISIS threats in ALL FIFTY STATES?? When ISIS is threatening an attack on Washington, DC right now?? And we are going to let in a bunch of refugees from a country ISIS has infiltrated. That is just plain STUPID, and it also violates the very clear purpose of the Federal Government and the President in particular: to protect the citizens of this nation.

Oh, and one more thing, President Obama: ISIS hardly seems “contained” at this point, wouldn’t you agree?

And speaking of Obama, how about Obama releasing five more Gitmo detainees to the UAE overnight AFTER the terrorist attacks in Paris? I wish I was kidding. From the NY Daily News:

Hours after a crew of suicide bombers ravaged Paris on Friday, the U.S. Defense Department quietly transported five Yemeni detainees who have kept in Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay for nearly 14 years to the United Arab Emirates.

The Pentagon waited until Sunday to reveal it released five inmates from Yemen, the military prison camp’s third-most populous nationality.

The five inmates, Ali Ahmad Muhammad al-Razihi, Khalid Abd-al-Jabbar Muhammad Uthman al-Qadasi, Adil Said al-Hajj Ubayd al-Busays, Sulayman Awad Bin Uqayl al-Nahdi and Fahmi Salem Said al-Asani, were never charged with a crime during their imprisonment. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

There is something seriously, seriously wrong with this President and those who support these kinds of disturbing policies, in my opinion, that is.

And in the opinion of Michael Goodwin in this excellent piece from the New York Post (h/t mcnorman). I recommend you read the entire piece, but the headline speaks volumes, “It’s Time For Obama To Make A Choice: Lead Us Or Resign.” It is a brilliant, powerful column by Goodwin, and he concludes with this:

[…] So we are back to square one again, facing a stronger and more emboldened enemy. The time has run out for half measures and kicking the can down the road. The enemy must be destroyed on the battlefield before there can be any hope of peace.

If Obama cannot rise to the challenge of leadership in this historic crisis, then, for the good of humanity, he should resign. Those are the only options and it is his duty to decide. (Click here to read the rest.)

Amen to that. I would add, the sooner the better.

That’s what I think. How about you? This is an Open Thread.

Thank you for the informative post, Cuz…and glad you had a fun weekend..That men’s singing group is fabulous!

Wanted to tell you that yesterday we had a visiting rector at the Episcopal church here and he used the term “Radical Islamists” TWICE in his sermon!!! How about THAT?!
He’s retired so I guess he figured he had nothing to lose… LOL…Anyway, it was refreshing to hear an educated, grown person in a somewhat position of authority, use that term!

And in other news, Texas has more Syrian refugees than any other state and so our Republican governor has issued a statement today to the Obama admin. saying No More!!! We’re taking NO MORE!

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Wow, Cuz’n – that is quite something abt the visiting rector! Good thing he’s retired, huh?

Good for your Governor for saying no more. I know there are other governors who are refusing to take any and good on them for it. It is absurd that we are taking in refugees who should be in the Middle East, not in the USA, ESPECIALLY when we know ISIS has infiltrated them. How CRAZY is it to even consider letting them in considering the threats that ISIS has leveled against us?

And if they INSIST upon bringing them in, they should all be in DEMOCRATIC controlled states, not REPUBLICAN ones like Texas and Louisiana.

Ugh – he is SUCH a piece of work, isn’t he?? Wow.

I caught some of the press questions today – when I could make myself take it off “mute.” His responses to their pointed questions fell FAR short…

since we defeated the British in the Revolutionary War and elected George Washington, There was never a doubt that a president of the USA was loyal to her. Now I do not think the current president has any loyalty to her.
That is the saddest sentence i have ever written about politics

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I agree, Helen – that is an extremely sad commentary on where this country is. The overall, PRIMARY, responsibility of the President is National Security. This President has failed miserably.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I find it sad too. But I find it frightening that so many Dems agree with him.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Me too, Marge. I simply do not understand how the Dems could so cavalierly throw away their oath of office, their duty to country, and to the citizens. That should come before going along with any and everything the President wants, especially when it is SO outside the bounds of decency, Democracy, and the Constitution. I just do not get it…

n this time in history how would a Ted Cruz- Jim Webb ticket be? You do not have to pick your vice president from the candidates and since Webb is now an independent and not a democrat it would not give them a road to the white house. Both are smart men and have different strenghts that are needed now..

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Sec. Webb is an extremely accomplished man, with a great deal of military and policy experience. Whoever gets the nomination could do worse than pick Webb, though he would also be a great Sec. of Defense.
