And Some More “Accomplishments” Obama Can Mention In His SOTU *Open Thread*

With Obama’s last SOTU Address coming up on Tuesday (whew), there are no doubt many things Obama sees as his accomplishments as he pushes his ideology, facts be damned. As I finish out this week, I have a few more “accomplishments” I imagine WON’T make it into this Address.

Let’s begin with this latest newsflash about the TERRORISTS coming through our Southern border into San Diego. I am not being hyperbolic. This is the real deal. From IJ Review:

A letter from a San Diego congressman to the Department of Homeland Security says that several dozen Pakistani and Afghan men have come into the United States through “a Tijuana-based human smuggling pipeline” since September, and two of those men have ties to terrorist activity, the San Diego Reader first reported.

In a letter from Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) to Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, the two men in their 20’s were among those found during a recent increase of “military age” men “carrying U.S. cash” apprehended on the Tijuana-San Diego border. The letter says one individual had “associations with a known or suspected terrorist,” while the other was flagged for “derogatory information.”

The Reader reports:

“Until November, they would enter in groups and seek a federal agent to surrender to, according to union officials. It is believed that they did this because illegal entrants who are not Mexican citizens and who are deemed to not pose a significant threat are generally given a date to appear at immigration court and then released on their own recognizance.”

But these days, the Middle Eastern migrants are more likely to be found further inland, traveling alone. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

That’s just freakin’ awesome, not. As many of us have predicted, the porous Southern borders are putting this nation at GREAT risk. That is simply unacceptable. The terrorists are literally being smuggled into this country, and then, given a green light to stay. And I am guessing THIS newsflash won’t make it into the SOTU.

And speaking of Afghans, Sharyl Attkisson had a report on Full Measure regarding the Afghan Air Force, and how much of our money we have poured into getting it, um, off the ground. Suffice it to say, it was a “boondoggle,” to use Attkisson’s word. From Full Measure:

Hundreds of millions of dollars” wasted on this. Your taxpaying dollars literally being wasted by this Administration. Meanwhile, one of Obama’s “accomplishments” is to cut back OUR military in a BIG way. Holy smokes.

Speaking of Sharyl Attkisson, this coming Sunday, she will feature a report entitled, “Benghazi: Rescue Interrupted.” If your local stations don’t carry her program, you can stream it online at It is timely indeed considering the release the following week of “13 Hours.”

About those refugees this Administration wants to bring in. We have all heard how the Obama Administration has ASSURED us they will vet these people thoroughly, so no worries about who they bring in. I assume, then, that Obama will NOT be referencing the two refugees from Iraq allowed in to the United States who were just indicted on terrorism charges to make his point. From the Daily Caller:

Two Iraqi refugees living in the U.S. have been arrested in Sacramento and Houston on federal terrorism charges and for lying to immigration officials.

Twenty-three-year-old Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab and 24-year-old Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, both Palestinians born in Iraq, were charged in separate cases on Wednesday.

Unsealed indictments released on Thursday by the Justice Department show that both men were born in Iraq and are of Palestinian background. Both were also granted refugee status as part of a program started for Iraqis in 2007. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

But hey – let’s just trust this Administration to keep us safe from admitting terrorists in via the Refugee Program, even when ISIS claims to have infiltrated the refugees we are letting in. I am SO sure this will be in the Top Five “accomplishments” Obama will tout, right? Yeah. Sure.

In all seriousness, one thing that for sure WILL be in Obama’s SOTU Address is his threat to members of his own party who do not capitulate to his dictatorial stance on gun control. From The Hill:

President Obama said Thursday evening that he will not campaign for any candidate that doesn’t back up his efforts on gun control, a major focus of his last year in office.

“I will not campaign for, vote for or support any candidate, even in my own party, who does not support common-sense gun reform,” Obama wrote in a New York Times op-ed.

Obama’s remarks came shortly before a town hall Thursday evening on CNN where he’ll discuss his executive actions on guns unveiled earlier this week. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Wow. So much for the People’s Representatives Representing the People, huh? If they don’t acquiesce to His Majesty, he will dropkick them to the curb. What a guy. What a President for All Americans. What a temper-tantrum throwing toddler.

What a happy day it will be for many of us when he leaves office…

Legal Insurrection had an OUTSTANDING piece today about the impact of the media, particularly WaPo, for pushing Obama on us:

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Read that piece a few minutes ago. Everyone should read it. It shows just how corrupt a major media company is. Not to even mention incompetent.

      • piper Says:

I’m also suspicious about all the free publicity that the media is giving Trump – trying to be kingmakers again??????? Still pondering if they’re using him for ratings / viewship, using him to bring down the GOP and promote the Dems, or like all the money passed under the table.

  2. kenoshamarge Says:

Obama may have thought, given the non-stop Obama Gun Control commercial CNN was running all day, that he would have an easy time – maybe not all went his way. Two little “glitches”

    1. Chris Kyle’s Widow Left Obama Stuttering In Gun Control Town Hall

Tara Kyle asked Obama why his administration wasn’t more optimistic about the murder rate being at an all-time low.

“Why not celebrate where we are?”she asked. “Celebrate that we’re good people and, 99.9 percent, most of us are never going to kill anyone.”

And 2. Surprise: Cooper Hits Back at Obama for Suggesting Opponents on Guns Are Conspiracy Theorists

I know, Anderson Cooper? Seriously asking serious and pertinent questions? Acting somewhat like an actual reporter and not a lapdog? I am goshwoggled!

The impact is more when it comes from someone perceived, with good reason, as an Obot. But don’t look for the Left Stream Media to highlight either of these encounters.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Taya Kyle was something, wasn’t she? Obama just regurgitated his talking points in response, but she was very good.

Wait, WHAT?? Cooper actually called Obama out on something? Maybe it is just because he won’t be running again that he wants to get tough now, but still – glad he said something.

Would have been nice had CNN made clear, though, when Obama was hammering the NRA that they did not choose to come on because they did not want to have a very limited time to make their point, and even then, through a PRE-APPROVED question. That is hardly a fair event, and precisely why this wasn’t a TOWN HALL, but an Obama-shoving-his-ideology on people.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

A Townhall? Not hardly. Obama would mess himself if he ever had to face a group of real people at a real Townhall.

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Exactly. It isn’t a Town hall when all of the questions are PRE-screened, and the people present were only there by invitation. Yeah, he couldn’t handle a real Town hall…

          • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, and Obama completely went to the extreme in his response to Cooper, who was talking abt the majority of gun owners. Obama took it to those who think the gov’t wants to take away EVERYONE’S guns. So he skewed the question, then tried to put it on Cooper that SURELY he agrees THAT is a conspiracy!!

The people clapping clearly did not get the logical fallacy Obama employed.

  3. piper Says:

BTW Amy, I will not be watching the SOTU as I will be working on reducing the snow mounds snowflake by snowflake. It’s a clean job that someone has to do.
A little Maxine to brighten the day.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

ROTFLMAO – oh, thank you for your sacrifice, piper! Ahahahahaha…

Love the Maxine, too – perfect!

  4. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

    Shocking – not:

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Obama lectures congress about wasting time? How about all the time he wastes chasing gun control laws that have all ready been enacted if not enforced? What a giant hypocrite!

The bill may not have the votes to overturn the veto but at least Republican and Independent voters can see congress “trying” to fight the lying POS in the White House. For many of us that is imperative. We don’t accept the meme “but we can’t win this fight” if we never see them fighting at all.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

No kidding, huh? For someone who spends more time on the golf course and fundraising than he actually does governing, he has no business telling ANYONE that they are “wasting time.” UGH.

  5. kenoshamarge Says:

A Woman Tried to Put a U.S. Soldier In His Place, What Happened Next Will Leave You Smiling

A military veteran who had served two tours in Afghanistan (and is still on active duty) went to a restaurant and happened to ask the cashier if they offered any discounts to military personnel.

We’ll let the soldier’s Facebook post tell the rest of this heartwarming story:

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

What a great story, in the end, anyway! Thanks for this, Marge. Some people’s arrogance is just astonishing, isn’t it? I, for one, would be more than happy for our military to not have to pay full price ANY time, but that’s just me! 🙂
