Playing Politics **Open Thread**

by

One of the most hypocritical bits of bilge that issues from Obama’s mouth is when he accuses someone of “playing politics”. This from the guy who plays politics more than any president has ever done. I thought he was the most narcissistic, dishonest, ignorant, whiny politician ever – and then along came Donald Trump. Deja Vu all over again.

The same type of fetid fools that knelt in admiration at Obama’s feet now kneel at Trump’s. Who could have ever guessed that the right had so many people willing to not only support, but rabidly support, a charlatan? Remember the good old days when we on the right could feel superior to the left because we didn’t drool over some politician?  Who would have guessed that so many on the right would actually slobber over a vulgar billionaire boor with the morals of an alley cat?

Looks like Vincent from the Princess Bride was on target – it truly is inconceivable!

Inconceivable!Definition of inconceivable

  1. :  not conceivable: as

  2. a :  impossible to comprehend

  3. b :  unbelievable

    And yet here we are.

One of the things that the playing of politics does is make the governmental departments that are in place to run the country and/or to protect the citizens of the country a part of the political game and thus those departments become as corrupt as the politicians they serve. And the citizenry is left undefended.

Number one on my list of departments that I don’t want any politician screwing around with is the DOJ. Understand the Department of Justice has in the past and will continue in the future to tilt a little one way or another depending what party controls the White House. No Republican President will make a rabid liberal his Attorney General any more than a Liberal President would want a staunch conservative to serve under him. That’s business as usual. Where it goes horribly wrong is when the tilt becomes a lean and when that lean tips over into full blown political bias. Then there is no justice. Then our laws mean nothing.

This morning I read about the corruption at the DOJ. I was, sadly, not surprised. The DOJ has been since 2008 a wholly owned subsidiary of the Obama Administration. First under the execrable leadership of Eric Canter and now under the equally execrable leadership of Loretta Lynch. From PJ Media:

Corruption, Incompetence Scandal at DOJ’s Ferguson Unit Widens

On April 12, PJ Media Legal Editor J. Christian Adams reported that DOJ sources had revealed how two top employees in the Justice Department’s Community Relations Service (CRS) used taxpayer money for personal travel. The DOJ sources also revealed how these two top employees were responsible for a culture of incompetence, political decision-making, and gross mismanagement.

Here, we reveal that those same sources told Adams and me about corruption by other CRS managers, and about a hostile work environment that includes bullying and discrimination — particularly against anyone who complains about the waste, fraud, and abuse. (Click here to read the rest.)

Only if this story can no longer be ignored will the wretched Main Stream Media report on it. And then one can expect it to be glossed over and given little time or light of day. The men and women in the media who allow their own bias free rein in what they do, or choose to not report are as corrupt as the politicians they refuse to hold accountable.

It is so easy for corruption to spread unchecked when the watchdogs are lap dogs. They think they simply follow their ideology. What they do is commit treason against the people of the United States that depend on them to do what the citizen cannot do for him/herself. Failure is one thing, refusing to do the job is quite another. These traitors include most of the top names in the news business. and I do mean business – big business – big salaries for those that play the game the right way. Access to those in power and importance and all the news folks are suddenly wealthy insiders that have no interest whatsoever in doing any due diligence.

There was a time when we could count on some of the media to actually report on the shenanigans of politicians. Now the media is for the most part an arm of the Democrat Party. And many of them an arm of the most liberal part of the Democrat Party. Want a free press? Look elsewhere. It no longer exists here. They’re choosing their new clothes for their next invite to the White House.

ISIS rapes, pillages and murders and our crack reporters are worrying about the ability of men to pee in the ladies room. That should be political satire. Sadly it is not.

A person that I used to think of as a friend told me one day not to long ago that my problem was that I was too “old school”. That because I thought, and think, that name-calling and mud-slinging is not the way to elect a president. My belief that if someone has a history of lies and deceit, of doing things that are against all I believe they shouldn’t hold the highest office in our country is out of date and out of step.

This person thinks Obama is a disgrace to the office of POTUS and yet makes excuse after excuse for Trump while repeating lies about Ted Cruz. Needless to say that person is no longer a friend. I don’t want dishonesty in the White House and while I can’t prevent that I can certainly prevent it from being across my kitchen table and drinking my damn coffee.

    Marge,
Another awesome thread. On the disgust scale of 10, I’m at 58 and rising quickly – is this the best we can choose from to lead our country – a whiny demented comb over and a lying stroke sufferer.

Usually after my late ending knit group on Tuesdays, I come home and peruse the news before heading to bed. Last night I went directly to bed, set the TV timer and clicked on Amazon Prime show, Touching Evil, which lulled me into dreamland.

I agree – excellent thread, Marge. Thank you so much for sharing your much valued opinion with us!

And piper, I could not agree more. I cannot BELIEVE that these two are the top of the leaderboard right now. How in the hell can that BE?!?! How can Trump continue blathering on in his completely nonsensical way, threatening, bullying, playing the victim, lying over NINETY PERCENT OF THE TIME, and still be the leader???

And then there is the clueless Socialist and Clinton. REALLY?!

What the hell is going on in this country?!

Vanessa Rasunen had this piece at the Federalist. I don’t drink alcohol, but I can sure understand why she is suggesting it at a time like this: http://thefederalist.com/2016/04/20/10-ways-to-distract-yourself-from-the-2016-election

I am not surprised that Trump won NY. He was expected to win and he did better than I thought he would do. I am a little bummed that Cruz didn’t get a single delegate. But I give him credit for having the courage and commitment to campaign just as hard where he had little chance as he did where he was/is expected to win. It shows a commitment and dedication to the country as a whole that I admire.

The next week or so will be hard for those of us that support Ted Cruz. Then things will get better.

And always remember, the number is still 1237 and until Trump has that he’s just a big, old, whiny candidate. And being a big, old, whiny man at his age is so unbecoming. How can anyone support the old fraud?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I am disappointed too that Cruz got not one delegate, but you are right, Marge – he didn’t give up.

I am not as surprised that Sanders got more votes than Trump when you consider NYC alone and how they have a Socialist Mayor.

But what did strike me is how few people VOTED in New York State. Had those numbers COMBINED been from NYC, that would be one thing, but all in all, it seems to me a very small showing of New York in general. I could be wrong, of course, but yeah – not too many showed up it seems.

Thank heavens the number is still 1,237. That gives me a ray of much-needed hope…

Got this interesting bit of information from a commenter at RS:

May is likely to be a bloodbath for Trump. Ted Cruz has done an admirable job of locking down Washington, and Oregon is likely to follow suit. Trump isn’t even meaningfully contesting Nebraska.

West Virginia is a wildcard, because no one knows how the South would have voted in a three-man race. The key lynchpin of the entire month will be Indiana, where Trump will be running against an extremely strong headwind. It’s entirely possible that Trump gets 20 delegates or less in the entire month of May.

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I sure hope that is true, Marge. That does give me some hope. And hope is what I need!

Poll: Victorious in New York Primary, Trump Trails Hillary Nationally By 11 Points

As Trump supporters celebrate a widely-anticipated home turf win in New York, they’ll likely overlook yet another national poll showing the Republican frontrunner trailing likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by double digits as general election season approaches. The latest NBC/WSJ survey — which joins the WaPo/ABC and Associated Press polling series in measuring Trump’s unfavorable ratings as the worst in history — finds (the unpopular) Clinton holding a lead of 11 points over Trump.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

As we keep trying to tell these people who keep supporting him no matter what he says or does, Hillary will beat him. And I think a lot of Republicans would rather have the devil they know over the crazy man who has a limited vocabulary, no experience, no real policies, and a volcanic temper.

They prefer someone they can “deal” with. That would be Trump. Plus he’s so ignorant of the way government works he “deals” at a disadvantage. Since he isn’t savvy enough to hire people that actually do know how government works that compounds their advantage.

But Ted Cruz? They’ve smeared and reviled him from the gitgo. Therefore he owes them nothing. He knows how the system works and not only can work within it, he’s smarter than them and can work it better. That’s all you need to know about why so many in the GOP would prefer Trump.
