Where is the Truth? **Open Thread **

Good people, honest people, decent people should want to know the truth about the people they vote for don’t you think? Doesn’t it say something about us if we don’t? Something not so good. Something about our lack of character or integrity? Maybe that’s why people prefer to put their fingers in their ears and sing la, la,la to keep from having to face a truth they don’t want to know.

There have been times when I wished I didn’t know something, for a moment or two. Finding out something bad about someone for whom you intended to vote and thought was a good person forces you to change your mind. Often after you thought you knew all you needed to know about that person. Doesn’t’ ever seem to be good things we find out late, only negative things. And there we are, wrong again. No one likes being wrong. And no one like admitting they were wrong.

If we are wrong, and we always will be from time to time, it’s often because we’ve been lied to. It’s because  deceitful people who gained out trust in order to gain our vote tried to deceive us. All too often they succeed. There should be no shame in that. Unless we didn’t do our due diligence and  didn’t try our best to find out about the person we intend to get our vote.

For most of my life getting to the truth was difficult. Although I wasn’t as aware of media malfeasance  then as I am now I felt that they were skewed in ways that I didn’t like. I felt uncomfortable when I saw bias even though at the time I was a Democrat and my little corner of Wisconsin is about 70% Democrat infested.

I like fair. Not the kind of fair Obama blathers on about. Not the kind of fair and balanced FOX promises but doesn’t deliver but the kind of fair that just reports on the facts as known. Give us the information and let us make up our own minds. Give us the respect that allows us that. That media doesn’t do that shows us that they have no respect for us.

Now we have our computers and information is only as far away as our keyboards. And wouldn’t ya know that fair is just as hard to find as it was when I only had my local paper and local television channel? Now there are so many places to find information you could spend all day every day just searching and reading. Sometimes I think I do just that. And the result is that you have to dig for the truth harder than ever before. Lots of information but you still need to do your due diligence.

Maybe media thinks because there is so much we won’t notice that so much of what there is, is drivel. Or propaganda. Or lies. Or that they often simply ignore stories or information that doesn’t conform to what they want to say.

What kind of media would do that? Isn’t that the kind of thing to expect from Pravda in Russia? Why would media in America, where they have more freedom than most countries can even dream of, not tell the truth? What’s wrong with them?

We have grown accustomed bit by bit and lie by lie to simply accepting that we don’t have watch dogs any more, we have lap dogs and nasty ones at that. Most of us thought they were liberal lap dogs until Donald Trump came on the scene. Then we saw a different kind of lap dog.

I still believe the media is almost entirely liberal but I believe they are liberals with intent. And the intent is to choose the Republican nominee so that the Democrat’s flawed and favored nominee and soon to be candidate, Hillary Clinton has a chance to win.

She is such a weak candidate that in any election except this one most of the Republican nominees could beat her. So the liberal media wants the one man who cannot, uber vulgarian and reality television buffoon, Donald Trump.

The liberal media made Donald Trump the kind of a star and a household name his ego could only have dreamed about. They gave him millions, maybe even billions of dollars worth of free television and print attention. And a monster was born.

Oh not Trump himself. He’s a rather mediocre narcissist the likes of which we’ve seen residing in the White House for the past 8 years. He’s an old white man rather than a younger black man but other than that just as in love with himself and just as thin-skinned, ignorant and dishonest.

The monster is the cult of the Trumpanzees. Millions of citizens who have quite frankly lost their minds. Along with their integrity, their character  and any ability to tell fact from fiction.

I never saw this coming but then neither did anyone else. Not the pundidiots that think they know everything and not the liberal media that thought having him as a candidate would guarantee their tired, old and not very well liked candidate. Hillary could not beat anyone else but they are/were convinced she could beat Trump.

Funny thing is they may be right. If Trump was only 1/2 as big a buffoon as he is, if Trump was only 1/2 as ignorant as he is and if he would just from time to time shut his ignorant and mouth he might, should he end up the candidate have pulled the party together and somehow eked out a win.

But he never stops being a buffoon, in spite of media softballs he shows how ignorant he is every time he opens his mouth and his supporters, aka Trumpanzees are as nasty as bunch as you will ever meet.

So unless Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina can pull out a win in Indiana on Tuesday the liars will win. And the decent, conservative voters will sit this one out and Hillary will win. See how well that works out for the liberal media when you let them choose your candidate?

Is this our fate? Will this happen? Can this be true?

Excellent, excellent post, Marge. I hope to GOD it isn’t true that this could be the new path for this Nation. The media, though, is doing its very best to already call Indiana for Trump, and bang the drum that Cruz is done.

I pray that Cruz defies the polls and takes Indiana.

I simply do not understand why so many people are buying into this, even with the media’s constant cheerleading. If nothing else, THAT should make people a little suspicious, don’t you think? But no…

    Great piece. Thank you!

Talking to people that “know” polls far better than I do they say the polls most being quoted are not to be trusted. Think about it – Cruz was up by 15 one day and down by 15 the next. Things just don’t flip that fast without some cataclysmic happening.

The detestable media is trying to depress the Cruz voters and make them think that it’s all over so that they stay home.

One Hillary super pac is telling their supporters to vote for Trump. Too bad Indiana is an open state.

One thing that must be changed is open states. Neither party should have the ability to distort the vote of the other party. It is dishonest and repulsive.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I agree – the open state voting is ridiculous. The Dems have wreaked tremendous havoc this time around pushing Trump along since they know Clinton will CREAM him in the Election.

True enough abt the polls flipping and flopping. No doubt the media/polls are trying to suppress Cruz voters. I hope they are smarter than that in IN and come out in DROVES…

Why Trump’s Government Spending Will Destroy The Economy

Many GOP voters think they’re getting something new in Donald Trump. Actually, they are opting for Bushonomics and Obamanomics on steroids.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

EXACTLY! Even when he mouths a somewhat coherent policy, it is TERRIBLE for the country. Too bad his minions don’t care abt facts…

I brought this forward because I think it fits in here. Until I watched it, I never really thought too much about the primaries and independents voting

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

At least in my state, there is no registration. If you vote in one primary, you cannot vote in the other. But I can appreciate that other states do have restrictions forcing people to JOIN a Party.

      Thanks for this, Helen!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

In Wisconsin you are have to be registered as a voter but party is irrelevant. I’m not sure that’s a good thing if some people, some scummy nasty people are willing to pervert the elections by voting for someone in order to skew an election towards the other party. Whatever is done someone, somewhere will find a way to cheat. And I hate cheaters!

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Amen to THAT, sister! I hate cheaters, too! And yes, no matter the party affiliation, we have seen just this season how the other side can so skew who the nominee may be…

What schmucks. I mean, really – crashing CRUZ’S rally??? Wow. This says SOOOOOOO much: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/278389-cruz-confronts-trump-supporter-at-indiana-event

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I had seen this earlier. I don’t know how Ted Cruz manages to keep his cool. I’d smack that POS over the head with my cane and then hit him again when he hit the ground. Just proves my point that Trumpanzees are garbage.

Add to that the fact that the loud mouth fool didn’t even know that Ted Cruz argued in front of the Supreme Court for the 2nd Amendment and won. Ignorance thy name is Trumpanzees.

I will never forgive these people. Never. I thought I could but then I see them behave like this and know I cannot.

why does this headline not surprise me in today’s media?

    • kenoshamarge Says:

There are few surprises left in the devolution of the media. They seldom do anything but disappoint.

MELTDOWN!! Defensive Bill O’Reilly YELLS that Trump INSULTS are MORE NEWSWORTHY than policy

Trump’s favorite shoe-shine boy Bill O’Reilly had a melt down today when he was challenged to explain why he was giving so much coverage to Trump. He actually starts screaming and yelling that Trump insulting people is more newsworthy than having candidates on to talk about policy.
