The Pretzel People *Open Thread *

Most of us know that political parties are fluent in a language the rest of us don’t speak or understand very well. It’s called Babble. Babble is the noise we’ve come to expect from politicians and the media that serves them saying something that doesn’t make sense.

If they have the proper letter after their name, R or D, they can count on our vote anyway. We don’t know what they said, we know they didn’t mean it and still we vote for the proper letter. Whichever letter we’ve chosen for our team and whichever person wearing that letter the media tell us is the right choice.

We’ve lost all ability to think for ourselves or to use our common sense. We don’t seem to be “wired” for critical thinking anymore.

Media tells us what to think thus relieving us of the chore of having to think. Therefore the majority of Americans can get back to important things like Nascar, Reality Shows and shopping for really ugly shoes. Those who have already succumbed I think of as the potted plant people.

Republicans are nearly as guilty of this as Dems but the Dems contain, in fact are horribly infested with, a strange disease called liberalism which not only relieves them of the ability to think, it makes it impossible. Republicans are fast headed in that direction.

For over a year and maybe longer we have been subjected to the whines of tender little college snowflakes who are so fragile that a word chalked on a sidewalk sends them scurrying to their “safe place.”

The very thought that someone might have a thought that differs from their thoughts and point of view damages their fragile psyche.

To listen to them you would think that our institutions of higher learning are horrible places that exist just to affront their feelings. Safe places must be provided to protect these delicate children from the real world.

I’m one of those old  folks that remembers when college was a place you sent a child and got an adult back at the end of four years. A well-educated, articulate and probably an 1bp6Nsa.gifarrogant adult who was sure they now knew more than you. Life soon knocks that out of most of them.

So I have a question for these “liberals” in waiting – why on earth would these young women, who see every man as a potential rapist, want to allow men in one of the few “safe places” provided for the public? As in the ladies room. Given that you fear and smear men as being  potential rapists why on earth would you want to allow them into your bathrooms and locker rooms?

If I get the logic right, it would be against a man’s civil rights to tell him to use the bathroom that fits the plumbing he was born with. Simply saying you identify as a woman is a good enough reason for some dude to shower with the girls. What could possibly go wrong with that?

My generation laughed at the Corporal Klinger character in MASH – this generation wants to shower with him. Or at least we are being told by the POTUS that we must lest we violate his civil rights.

I’m sorry folks but this is a bridge too far for me. WAAAAAAAY too far. And unless you twist all logic into a pretzel it should be a bridge too far for any thinking being.

I have never shopped at a Target store much, they just don’t appeal to me. Now I will never shop there. The last thing this old lady needs is some man in a public bathroom with me.

If I could I would ban the man I have at home from using our bathroom. Since he uses the one in the basement about 1/2 the time I don’t get up on my high horse too often. And he has to clean that one. But damnit fellas, AIM!

I will watch the pretzel people, aka liberal females and father’s of liberal females, twist themselves into knots trying to be victims of evil men on one hand and allowing any man that happens to be feeling like a woman to shower with them. It should get interesting if the media bother to report about it much. Perhaps I should buy more popcorn.

I was a baby Democrat when JFK was in office. I admired the man. I loved his wit. It wasn’t for many years that I found that my idol had feet of clay. I still respected him and mourn his loss. He never got a chance to reach his full potential so we will never know if he would have been a great president or not. But we know enough to know this:

Democrats sure as hell ain’t what they used to be. And nothing could showcase that as much as these two men. And the special snowflakes that twist themselves into pretzels to remain liberals. Might as well, they’ve already lost all integrity and common sense .

    just get over it females

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Rev Amy sent me that link earlier. I’m still in shock. So girls must become “accustomed” to seeing male genitalia in their bathrooms and showers? Because naked men and boys are not the problem, the girls becoming accustomed to the sight is.

Every day in more ways than I can count I find myself looking up to see the top of the rabbit hole I must have fallen down.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I am thoroughly disgusted and APPALLED that my hometown paper would take such an idiotic, insensitive, illogical, race baiting stance on a very real issue for women and girls. What abt OUR RIGHT TO PRIVACY?? Safety? Security??? What abt the impact on all the women and girls who have been sexually abused??? They are just supposed to “get over it”???

WOW, how misogynistic this mindset is.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

As a female I never knew that seeing “black” skin and seeing naked men was one and the same. Are they nuts?

  2. helenk3 Says:

would it violate any males civil rights if I carried a ginsue circumcision knife and a ruler with me at all times?
how about if the the women pointed and laughed at their most precious part and starting singing ” is that all there is”? think the idea would die out real fast?

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I think the combination of things you suggest would make most of the scum that think it fun to invade women’s privacy scuttle for the exit post haste! Especially the laughing. The actual violent perverts not so much.

That’s part of the problem because you cannot separate the harmless from the harmful by the sight of their naked body parts. That’s hidden in between the ears.

  3. helenk3 Says:

I used to think that New Yorkers were pretty smart people. Since they elected this guy, I changed my mind.
The new greeting when you enter at store will be “hey you” . pretty classy huh?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Honest to God, I am SO SICK of the entire transgender issue infusing every single part of our lives There are less than a MILLION in the entire country. WTH do they get to dictate how EVERYONE else lives?? This is crap!

  4. helenk3 Says:

    interesting argument

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I agreed with the following 2 paragraphs completely:

The next president is going to be a disaster, an abject disaster, whether it’s Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.

If it is Hillary Clinton, it will be their disaster, and you can sit there and point out what a disaster their president is and how we need to do something to recover from the disaster that is their president. If the disaster is Donald Trump, then you immediately have to start talking (if you do) about what a disaster our president, this guy we put into the White House is.

I did not realize it at the time, but I had some really great teachers when I went to school. I went to 13 different schools in 12 years and graduated high school but did not go to collage.

i had a history teacher tell us I am going to teach you about communism because you can not fight what you don’t know. What he taught me was that communism does not take into account human nature. If I do not have to earn it, why should I? Some people are more productive than others. Most people do not like having someone direct every portion of their life.
I was taught you have to be responsible for your actions. You do not study and you fail , that is on you not anyone else.
I tried to teach my kids the same things. I was successful at it. They work hard, and raised pretty good kids that know right from wrong.
Maybe I was lucky not to go to college, I never thought that before

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

How fortunate you were to have great teachers. I was fortunate to do so too, both in public school and then in college. I do not remember my teachers EVER infusing politics into the classroom the way they do now.

And yes – history must be taught, and recent history at that. My oldest niece is an English teacher, but she said she does try to highlight the dangers of Socialism and Communism. She acknowledges that it is a HUGE problem that our kids aren’t being taught Civics, or Social Studies, or History the same way.

It truly astonishes me – not in a good way – what is going on in our Educational system these days…

this was on facebook. it is a must see

guess this will land in the circular file

  12. amarissa Says:

This transgender issue makes me think that what they really want is to distract us from the real issues we are facing like the economy or terrorism. We are being called racists or inhumane for not accepting men in ladies rooms. They are passing stupid laws instead of needed ones; they are simply wasting our time and money.

In other words, we are just passing the time discussing trivial matters. That is exactly what they want from us, they want us to forget the really important issues. It’s called brainwashing.

  13. amarissa Says:

By the way, just saw a Hillary interview on CNN done by Chris Cuomo. She really tore Trump to pieces. The only difference is she sounded like a normal and well prepared person, not like the inept D. Regardless of all her baggage and lies she is definitely a much lesser evil than Trump.

If we didn’t have all the negative facts we have on her, the interview was quite impressive. It brought me fond memories of the first time she was running and how much we supported her. Sad… It would really be nice to have a woman president whom we trusted.

But, regardless of all this, I repeat what I have told you before, if I see the slightest chance that DT could become president, I will give her my vote. I know most of you don’t agree and I respect your feelings but I am way too scared of the Republican pick.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

We each have to do what we think is best. I’m not sure I won’t do the same if it appears that Trump might win. Because bad as I now know Hillary Clinton to be, she isn’t crazy. And I believe that Trump is. I believe he is mentally ill in some fashion. And that cannot, must not get anywhere near the White House.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I completely understand from where y’all are coming. And I have little doubt that as bad as Clinton would be, certainly as the country is pulled further and further left, she is at leas in control of her faculties. Like you, Marge, I think Trump is, well, crazy. I think he has little to no impulse control, and that is a MIGHTY dangerous characteristic for someone who has as much power as a POTUS.

And Amarissa, it is hard, isn’t it? Just 8 yrs ago, before Clinton served as Obama’s SoS and carried out his terrible policies, we would have loved for her to be elected over the inexperienced, unqualified Barack. Oh, the difference 8 yrs makes, huh?

        • amarissa Says:

Yes, Amy, quite a difference! We were really excited to vote for her! I even met the three Clintons through mutual friends in Puerto Rico. I campaigned for her in PR big time! We even held a private reunion in my friend’s house with Chelsea and saw Hillary in VIP reunions during her campaigning. I was with them the whole week she was there. It was a dream come true for me.

      • amarissa Says:

I feel exactly as you do! Thanks for understanding.

        • amarissa Says:

The above comment is for Marge too!

          • kenoshamarge Says:

No need for thanks amarissa. These are hard times for all of us. Hillary turned out to not be what we thought she was and that hurt.

Obama turned out to be even worse than we thought and that enraged many of us.

The GOP turned out to be even more spineless than we had anticipated and some just plain betrayed us.

And now we have a choice of voting for the lesser evil.

Except although I think that Hillary Clinton has blood on her hands for the murders in Benghazi. That should erase her from our choice. Except… Some of us think that Donald Trump isn’t right in the head.

Far too many in the #NeverTrump club, of which I was a member before there was a club, are still hoping to somehow get a Cruz nomination out of the convention. Some are as much Cruz cult members as the Trumpster Trash are.

I plan on simply not voting the top of the ticket. But if it looks like the crazy man has a chance to win, I don’t know what I’ll do.

    • helenk3 Says:

for the first time in 56 years I will not be voting for a president. We have such terrible choices and as the picture on the side says

      voters oath–do the least harm

  14. helenk3 Says:

    Short poem you won’t forget

Do you recall the President referring to the Benghazi incident as “a bump in the road?”
Today I heard an ex-Navy Seal being interviewed on Fox News regarding a book he has written about how to handle crisis situations in our lives.
At the end of the interview he asked if he could make a comment on Benghazi and, of course, the anchor said “yes.” He then thanked Fox News for keeping the Benghazi story in the news, since other news organizations are not.
He said the Seals who died deserve the public knowing the truth about the whole affair.

The poem was written by an anonymous Marine Corps officer:

We’re the battling boys of Benghazi, No fame, no glory, no paparazzi.
Just a fiery death in a blazing hell, defending our country we loved so well.
It wasn’t our job, but we answered the call, Fought to the Consulate and scaled the wall.
We pulled twenty countrymen from the jaws of fate, led them to safety and stood at the gate.
Just the two of us and foes by the score, but we stood fast to bar the door.
Three calls for reinforcement, but all were denied, so we fought and we fought and we fought ’til we died.
We gave our all for our Uncle Sam, but Barack and Hillary didn’t give a damn.
Just two dead Seals who carried the load, No thanks to us…we were just “Bumps in the Road”.

So, will this reach every American with a computer?

Or do we act like the press and give a pass to the people who literally sat there in the White House and watched the Seals’ execution on live streaming video and did absolutely nothing?

    “What difference does it make?”

And she wants to be the next President!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

There is no doubt in my mind that she is unfit to be POTUS. And also no doubt in my mind that Trump is worse because I think he’s mentally ill. So here we sit…

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I remember that very well indeed. It was offensive in the extreme, to the memory of those lost that night, and to the families of the fallen.

What a powerful, powerful poem that is. Thank you for that, Helen. Though I would add that Sharyl Attkisson has long kept what happened in Benghazi at the fore. Her reporting has been first rate, as have her questions abt what really happened that night and why was the gov’t acting as if it was a closed matter.

This election season we most definitely are between a rock and a hard place…

  15. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Speaking of Trump, Steve Deace mentioned this excellent piece in the American Thinker about Reagan and Trump. The author is considered to be one of the foremost authorities on Reagan (numerous books, which also informed the movie abt Reagan, interviews with all kinds of people who knew him, not just when POTUS, but back in the day). He makes very clear the distinctions between the two men and how they are NOTHING alike:

I might note I got an email from an AZ Rep. who has a Townhall article abt Trump and Reagan. His piece was light on substance, if you ask me, and thoroughly unconvincing, especially if you read the piece from the man who actually knows just a little abt Reagan:

  16. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, my – more antics from the Trump folks – on the street in front of God and everybody:

  17. amarissa Says:

These people are trash and they lead a mafia style life. God please save us from their possible invasion of the WH!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Amen. Although I begin to wonder if we haven’t brought this terrible choice on ourselves. All the years of holding our noses and voting for “the lesser of two evils” has lead right to this moment when there is no good choice between evils. We winnowed it down to only bad choices. Or maybe not. That’s just a thought that occurred to me.

  18. helenk3 Says:

    this guy sums it up

  19. helenk3 Says:

    ain’t this the truth.
    grim choices

    • kenoshamarge Says:

How does one make a choice among such grim choices? I know that I am determined to never again hold my nose and vote for someone I feel is evil even if he/she is the “lesser” of two evils. Evil is evil and I’m not going to vote for it ever again.

Could Trump surprise us all and hire good people and be a relatively good president? I doubt it but anything is possible. Would Hillary govern more like Bill than Obama? Could be. But her rhetoric suggests differently.

All in all I just don’t know what the outcome of this disaster in the making will be. And I am frightened for the future or my children, grandchildren, even the Obot and the Trumpanzee, and my country.

  20. helenk3 Says:

the money starts out in one place supposed to go to one place, but winds up in another. strange

  21. helenk3 Says:

now why is this not a surprise?
