A Betrayal Too Far? * Open Thread *

When does it become a bridge too far? Which is the straw that breaks a camel’s back?

When do voters, the few citizens that are paying attention, have enough? When does the corruption, the in your face corruption become more than people can accept? Is there a tipping point? Does a time ever come in this country today when the actions of a corrupt, a blatantly corrupt, government are more than even a corrupt public can tolerate?

The decision from the FBI, managed by the DOJ, ordered by the White House to allow Hillary Clinton  to continue her career of ignoring even flouting laws she doesn’t like should be the straw.

Even the liberal media can see that this may be a bridge too far. Well most of them. Idiots like Dana Milbank are still more interested in attacking Republicans than in stopping any corruption. According to Milbank, “No reasonable person can disagree with James Comey.” That’s a stupidity and bias too far even for Milbank and the Washington Post you would think. But then again, maybe not. Neither has any credibility left by now so are free to babble as they will and not expect to be taken seriously.

Some of us think that maybe that point has been reached. There certainly is enough outrage to go around. But haven’t we seen this outrage drama before? Haven’t we seen the GOP go into outrage mode time after time? What’s come of that?

Cartoonists and outrage columnists are having a field day with the decision by the FBI. Many ignorant members of the public think that all is now well for Hillary Clinton.

Some, and not just Republicans are disgusted with her, with the FBI and with the whole sick system. But is it enough to finally down the lying, dishonest and criminally careless Clinton for good? Or will she slither into the White House because the GOP is stupid enough to run a man against her that is despised more than she is? A man many believe is mentally unhinged?

That Clinton betrayed her position, her country and her duty is indisputable. To use Dana Milbank’s words, no reasonable person could believe otherwise. The question in my mind is will this population, many who have been corrupted themselves as far as honesty and integrity goes, find her corruption enough to send the Duchess of Chappaqua back to her lonely mansion?

“Hillary Clinton’s Non-Indictment May Not Help Her”   , says columnist Michael Barone. He says:

Clinton’s dishonesty may already be priced in by the electorate, with 60 percent or more of voters considering her dishonest and untrustworthy. And there are many voters who believe she’s better on the issues and/or that Donald Trump is dangerously unreliable who are willing to overlook her dishonesty.

That may well be. The public tends to show some umbrage and then gravitate back to their tribe. Others may find her repugnant but like myself believe Trump is crazy. Be it Alzheimer’s or his extreme narcissism the man is a lunatic and shouldn’t even be allow in the White House as a guest.

Meanwhile the Dems are out doing damage control:

When asked whether persons who are “extremely careless” with classified information should have security clearances, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) would not answer directly and instead said that as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton did not intend to be reckless with classified materials, a point that he said the FBI made clear on Tuesday.

The Minority Whip of the House of Representatives said that. My kids came up with better excuses. That’s just a pathetic attempt to excuse her betrayal of her position. I can hardly wait for Nancy the Ninny to come forth with her pearls of wisdom.

So what next? A few columns from the media that has the hubris to comment on someone’s else corruption no doubt.  A lot of cartoons that make fun of Hillary and the systems that sustains her. And then on to the latest silly Donald Trump tweet or whatever. The public has little appetite for in depth reporting or any of those boring facts and figures that make them work their minds.

Republicans will vilify Hillary and Bill as they’ve done for a generation. It will all come down to sound and fury signifying nothing. Hillary is the public face of the left’s longstanding betrayal of the public trust. What about the faces of GOP corruption? What about the lies and deceit of Mitch McConnell? What about the lies and deceit of the Presumptive Nominee and all around nut case Donald Trump?

The betrayal didn’t start with Hillary Clinton or James Comey or Loretta Lynch. They are only players on a much larger stage. The betrayal starts and ends in the newsrooms of the media. A media that has decided that the public has a right to know whatever they want to tell them. The arrogant media that picks and chooses who will succeed or fail in politics and in elections.

Media Moguls like Rupert Murdock who with his media empire decided this election that a 70 year old reality show vulgarian with the vocabulary and understanding of a 9 year old should be the Republican nominee. He succeeded thanks to an uniformed public that continues to be willfully ignorant of the flaws in this abhorrent old man.

Betrayers to the left of us, betrayers to the right. And where does the public stand? Or do they just sit down, throw another burger on the grill and check the latest ball scores? My bet is that there will be no pitchforks – no torches and not much outrage after the next new outrage comes along.

At the time I was busily writing the above I wasn’t aware of the horrific shooting of 11 Police Officers in Dallas. Or of the deaths of some of them.

I am bringing up Rev Amy’s great comment about this issue from the previous post so that no one misses it.

This is Rev Amy’s great comment from the previous thread:

I awoke to the horrific headline that 5 Dallas police officers were assassinated last night and more than twice that injured. BY SNIPERS. I am so mad and upset, I can barely stand it. I lay these actions at the feet of President Obama, AG Holder, and the Democrats for ginning up the lawful reactions of a police officer when attacked by a CRIMINAL who happened to be black.

AND I am mad that the White House, and Dems, have continued to perpetuate a LIE in the form of the Black Lives Matter movement, allowing them to OPENLY threaten the lives of police officers without any comeuppance. The Democrats have made it Open season on police officers with their race-baiting rhetoric, “Hands Up Dont Shoot” bullshit in the House, and more. I am beyond disgusted at this.

This paragraph frames is telling: The use of force by police against African-Americans in cities from Ferguson, Missouri, to Baltimore and New York has sparked periodic and sometimes violent protests in the past two years and has spawned the Black Lives Matter movement. (http://www.aol.com/article/2016/07/08/two-police-officers-shot-at-protest-in-dallas-local-tv/21426172/)

What the author leaves out is that THEY WERE ALL CRIMINALS!!!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE MEN WHO WERE KILLED WERE CRIMINALS!!!!!!!! Michael Brown attacked Officer Wilson not once, but was going after him TWICE. WTH was he supposed to do, let him??!?! The one case, Gray, seemed more like an accident than intentional, but in the NY case referenced, the criminal resisted arrest, and he did NOT die due to “use of force”

I am so sick of what Obama and the Democrats have done to this country I could scream. And now, the Republicans have allowed the Democrats to pick their nominee so that a woman who has no right being President likely will be (unless those Delegates do the right thing). This kind of thing will simply continue as the race baiting and glorification of criminals as victims will continue.

    Wow. Just Wow.

And the CiC condemn the attack on Law Enforcement but used the opportunity to climb back on his pet hobby horse – gun control. He is a disgusting POS and like you I believe that he is greatly to blame for the war on police by criminals that see a government that supports them not the police or law abiding citizens.

My guess is there will be another rush to buy guns after this. The public can see that the police can’t even protect themselves so how can they count on them to come to their aid?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Thank you for bringing this forward, Marge. I appreciate it.

And allow me to add my utter contempt for a President who uses this incident, one his own rhetoric has helped incite, to continue to push for his political ideology. I despise him: http://therightscoop.com/obama-blames-powerful-weapons-in-statement-about-dallas-police-shootings/

This is similar to what I commented recently regarding why Comey did not prosecute Hillary:

“I would suggest that Comey’s thinking, whether conscious or not, was similar: He did not want the FBI director to end up as the arbiter of the 2016 presidential election. If Clinton were not a presumptive presidential nominee but simply a retired secretary of state, he might well have made a different recommendation.
Prosecuting under current circumstances would have upended and redirected an already year-long presidential selection process. In my view, Comey didn’t want to be remembered as the man who irreversibly altered the course of American political history.”

Isn’t it funny how you never see a typo until you click on “post comment”? It happens to me all the time. The worst is when I see it just as I click and know if I’d seen it one tenth of a second sooner…

The Director Of The FBI Wants Us To Believe Hillary Is A Moron

We surrender. Hillary Clinton is innocent.

For this to work, though, we now have to accept that the woman Barack Obama christened the most qualified presidential nominee in history can’t understand the most basic workings of an email account. Although she served as both a U.S. senator and as secretary of State of the most powerful nation ever, she’s incapable of following basic directions. And, despite extensive training in the proper handling of classified information, she probably couldn’t get clearance as a White House intern.

Is Barack Obama Responsible For The Dallas Anti-Cop Terror Attack?

    By Ben Shapiro

On Thursday, President Obama reacted to the cell-phone-captured footage of the police killings of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile by suggesting that such killings were “not isolated incidents.” Instead, he said, “They are symptomatic of challenges within our criminal justice system, the racial disparities that appear across the system year after year, and the resulting lack of trust that exists between law enforcement and too many of the communities they serve.”

In effect, Obama said – just as he’s been saying for years – that what he believes are extrajudicial murders of black men by police officers are the result of systemic racism, reflected in disproportionate arrest and imprisonment statistics.

    backtrack’s legacy

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Let’s get this straight – Black citizens make up about 13% of the population. Barack Obama was elected by 51% of the population that voted. So he didn’t win with only black votes and voters. Yet he has had a mountain sized chip on his shoulder ever since he was elected. Ditto for FLOTUS. All we hear from them are about how racist whitey is. All I see is how racist blacks are.

Electing a black president was supposed to draw us together – a process that was actually already in progress.

But a black president who is himself a racist and a constant victim – while sitting in the office of POTUS doesn’t bring a country together. He divided it.

I see signs that I haven’t seen since the 60s. And once again there is blood in the streets. Be prepared for a summer of rage and more violence and more death. Because the President of the United States is fomenting it. He is truly a terrible man and a horrific president.

Now our poor country must fight enemies from without and within. And one of them sits in the Oval Office.

yes he has fermented a war on cops

  14. helenk3 Says:

what worries me is that the police will be on edge and justifying so. When people are on edge bad things happen. Are all cops wonderful no but 99.9% are good people wanting to do good for their communities. This is not a good time in this country. People are pushing an agenda that is inciting killings of whiles and blacks No one wins with this agenda.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

You’re right, no one wins. So why does Obama do this?

      • helenk3 Says:

because he was raised to hate America

        • kenoshamarge Says:

I believe that too. This country has been wonderful to him and yet he hates it. He’s a sick and twisted man. And his spouse is the same. They are at the top of this world and they still harbor resentment. Signs of a petty, petulant personality.

National Association of Police Organizations Lashes Out at Obama

William Johnson, Executive Director of the National Association of Police Organizations, notices a major difference from the unrest of the 60s and 70s:

“I think one of the big differences then was you had governors and mayors and the president — whether it was President Johnson or President Nixon, Republican or Democrat — condemning violence against the police and urging support for the police,” Johnson said. “Today that’s markedly absent. I think that’s a huge difference, and that’s directly led to the climate that allows these attacks to happen.”

He’s doing a lot of the work that the MSM refuses to do. He’s a hero IMO. They are scumsucking drones who collect a paycheck, often a very large one for writing lies, distortions and often for ignoring an important story. Most of them wouldn’t make a pimple on a real reporter’s backside.

  22. helenk3 Says:

protesters in Baton Rouge now. it is getting edgy as the night goes on. this is not good as both sides are on edge

    being shown of FOX now

hannity is an idiot. he keeps telling the reporter to go ask questions like are you for or against violence in this protest. things are tense and he wants the reporter to ask dumb questions and put himself in harms way.

now they are saying the black panthers are on the way to Baton Rouge.
the race baiters will not be happy until this becomes another Dallas

  23. helenk3 Says:

    Somebody killed a policeman today,
and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
will be buried with him at his side.

The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
    with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and spend many long, lonely nights.

The beat that he walked was a battle field too,
just as if he’d gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won’t fly at half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star.

Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
    in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
a cop put his life on the line.

Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
and he stands at each new rookie’s side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all,
and a part of America died.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Well I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. This is Obama after all. The ME is in flames. Our own country is about to go up in flames and Obama sends troops to Poland. Why am I not surprised?

Obama just keeps on being historic. He has now set a whole new level for bad Presidents to be measured against. Jimmy Carter is so off the hook.

the DOJ and the black panthers

  27. helenk3 Says:

backtrack wants marshal law in this country and this summer is his last opportunity to get it. yesterday there were protests in many cities around the country. People are on edge and as the weekend progresses it will get worse. Mistakes will happen. People can get hurt or killed. Since he was installed in office, he has inserted himself how many times into police shootings without the facts. Both he and the black caucus fan the flames every time. His friends the black panthers have been killing cops since the 60s and would just love to kill a few more. His bff al sharpton has gotten people killed is is making money off hate. His friend heading the dept of crime would just love to vilify all cops and be big chief in charge of all law enforcement both federal and local.

    just my opinion

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Your opinion and my are one and the same. What the election of Obama has done to this country is frightening. What the opposition party has allowed him to do is disgraceful. We are at the mercy of a government that is no more honorable than any 3rd world dictatorship. And our media is a disgrace to a free country.
