3rd Debate Clinton/Trump Tonight 🎭 Open Thread 🎭

During presidential elections in the United States, it has become customary for the main candidates (almost always the candidates of the two largest parties, currently the Democratic Party and the Republican Party) to engage in a debate. The topics discussed in the debate are often the most controversial issues of the time, and arguably elections have been nearly decided by these debates (e.g., Nixon vs. Kennedy). Candidate debates are not constitutionally mandated, but it is now considered a de facto election process. The debates are targeted mainly at undecided voters; those who tend not to be partial to any political ideology or party.

Most of us are smart enough to know that the theater we’re presented with are not a debate. In fact most of what is presented to us as debates are not. Most are a chance for networks to raise their ratings, candidates to raise their profile and to throw mud. It’s entertainment for the sheeple who are interested enough to try to gain some information.

Most of the important issues of the day are never mentioned. Often the document that every elected official in Washington D.C. and in the WHITE HOUSE took and oath to protect and defend isn’t even mentioned. That document, The Constitution, also gives the media freedom to become the frauds they have worked so hard to become.

The United States is in a sad state of affairs and nothing proves it more than the two candidates we have. One of whom, be he/she ever so unworthy will soon be President of the United States. Can we have a moment of silence for that?

A majority of people in this country don’t want either one of these horrible people to sit in the Oval Office. Perhaps more of them should have participated in the primary system. Perhaps more of them should have done a little investigating to find out more about the people who will inflict their vision or lack of such on all of us for at least four years. Too busy? Really?

I have watched and listened to bits and pieces of every debate since this horrible election season started. No I have not sat down and watched them on television. I will not contribute even my small bit to the ratings of a media I considered a major part of the problems we have in this nation. I find video clips or I listen to clips played on the radio programs to which I listen.

I find it difficult to listen to the words of serial liars. I find it difficult to listen to people for whom I have nothing but disdain. I find it nearly impossible to believe that I can learn anything from such repulsive, dishonest, and thoroughly immoral people.

Now that the left has become so blatantly corrupt the right wants to join in the fun. Formerly Religious leaders on the right would thunder, self-righteously, from their pulpit, or some television interview of the immorality of those on the left. Bill Clinton in particular was the focus of much of their wrath. Now they tell us we aren’t electing a preacher? WTH?

When this election is over there won’t be many people who aren’t tainted by some association or support or excusing of either one of these two truly reprehensible people. How pathetic is that?

Most people have reached a point where they don’t trust anyone. Not the government, not the politicians and certainly not the media. But sadly, many will still vote for one of the two candidates inflicted upon us by the media and the DNC and the RNC. Why?

How about 3rd party? Can’t do that, it would give your vote to Hillary or Trump. Don’t see the logic in that? Neither does anyone else with a brain but it is common knowledge among the stupid supporters of one or the other of the two degenerates presented by the two major parties.

Don’t think – that’s the last thing any politicians from either major party wants you to do. Just follow the magic letter – the magic “R” for the right and the magic “D” for the left. All will be well. Now wake up as much of your brain as you need to use to function on a daily basis until it’s time to vote again.

Tomorrow we can discuss what happens tonight. Will Hillary manage to remain on her feet for the whole debate? Will Trump keep from putting both feet in his mouth since it’s a given he will stick at least one in his ever open pie-hole.

Once again I won’t be watching. There are reruns of “Fixer Upper” on HGTV to re-watch. A mind is a terrible thing to waste – I don’t intend to waste my few remaining brain cells watching mud-wrestling disguised as politician discussion.

    something to think about

    • piper Says:

‘Independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin said Republicans need to realize and stand up against the “enormously destructive” white supremacist “empowerment” sparked by Donald Trump’s run.

You’ve seen the truth about Donald Trump, if you couldn’t see it before. Now is the time to stand up and repudiate this and repudiate his misogyny and his bigotry, and if you can’t do that now, if you won’t do that now before November 8, if you won’t stand up for Americans, then what business really do you have leading this country? And I think that’s the question they have to answer.”

    • kenoshamarge Says:

McMullen is absolutely right. As is Steve Deace and all the other #NeverTrumpers who are trying to tell people that Trump is becoming the face of the GOP and that means the Dems can successfully paint the entire Republican Party with his sins. It’s a disaster just like so many predicted it would be.

The media and the Dems got the candidate they wanted. The only one that cannot defeat her. I hope all the little Trumpanzees are satisfied.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Agreed. The GOP has allowed itself to be tarnished beyond recognition by supporting this sexual predator bully narcissist misogynist child.

So yeah, if ever there was a time for a good third party to rise, this seems like the time. I can cast my vote for McMullin and hold my head high abt it.

  3. piper Says:

Must see sights to behold – where I’ll be tonight with good friends.

  4. piper Says:

Panic is setting in – brought by the GOP allowing Drumpf to be their standard bearer.

‘Republican strategist Steve Schmidt said early Wednesday that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton could win more than 400 Electoral College votes on November 8, adding that “the panic is beginning” among Republicans.

“I think she’s trending over 400,” Schmidt said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Schmidt also predicted that Democrats will also take control of the Senate and are close to taking the House of Representatives.

“If this election was today, I think Republicans are down 25 seats, as of today, with the trend line going in the wrong direction,” he said.

    “The panic is beginning.”

    • kenoshamarge Says:

They should be panicking! They nominated a POS that over half of the country cannot stand. Hillary, whom they also loathe is only surging ahead because most of the public don’t think she’s nuts. If the choice is between a lunatic or a crook most will choose crook.

      • Justine Says:

Trouble is, they’re not really worried for the nation; they’re concerned for themselves — jobs, connections.

Trump is doing a good job for hillary. Isn’t that what he was supposed to do, cause chaos in the republican party so she could win?

    • kenoshamarge Says:

And evidently his son-in-law is all ready hard at work on his new television network. One thing you can always count on with Trump – it has something for Trump or he isn’t interested in playing. Other than the whole adulation thing that feeds his narcissism.

  7. helenk3 Says:

  8. kenoshamarge Says:

One thing I don’t understand is about the adulation for these old farts.

I see no sign of any special love for people our age in the culture, quite the contrary. Love from our nearest and dearest yes, culturally no.

Most fight growing older as if it was a war they could win. Sorry folks, you can’t. Giving in gracefully and working on the things you can preserve, your heart and your mind, will make growing old happier for you.

There are tons of politicians who are smarter, better informed, better speakers, and just plain better people and yes, younger who are/were available to be nominated for POTUS.

Why these two old farts? Why these two despicable, old scumbags? Why the choice between and old crook or an old nut? I just don’t get it.

trump the man hillary needed to win women voters

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Absolutely! Most women weren’t all that thrilled with Hillary being the first female president. They want a woman – just not that woman. The left mostly wanted Elizabeth Warren. But thanks to the stupidity of the right she gets to run against a man any decent women would run from as fast as possible.

Justice Sotomayor: I Fantasized About Hitting Scalia With A Baseball Bat

There’s an old adage that says, “Don’t speak ill of the dead.” Unfortunately, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor didn’t get the memo.

In a speech to students at the University of Minnesota on Monday, the Leftist jurist shared her thoughts about hitting her now-deceased colleague with a baseball bat.

Keeping it classy, isn’t she? Nice way for a Justice of the Supreme Court to talk. At least she’s a whole package – ugly inside and out.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Are you kidding me with this?? She seriously said that? Is she on drugs??? Not only is it poor form, it is an insult to a man who served with honor and distinction.

I still cannot believe some of the people Reps agreed to put on the SCOTUS. This kind of inappropriate rhetoric is just a glimpse of what a terrible choice she has been.

  11. kenoshamarge Says:

This is the look I get on my face when someone tells me they’re voting for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton

    Absolutely my favorite Archbishop!

Kansas City Archbishop Calls Tim Kaine A “Cafeteria Catholic”

Unfortunately, the vice-presidential debate revealed that the Catholic running for the second highest office in our land is an orthodox member of his party, fully embracing his party’s platform, but a cafeteria Catholic, picking and choosing the teachings of the Catholic Church that are politically convenient.

According to what I read one of the men fired for this behavior had visited the White House over 340 times! Obama is allowing scum bags to run tame in the White House. Another item for his “legacy”.

    worth watching

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Steve Deace replayed is Evan McMullin interview and interviewed Darrel Castle Monday night. They both came across as good, decent men.

I like Darrell Castle’s party and what he says. That said, he could put you to sleep in a hurry. Conservatives looking for a place to go should seriously consider his party. He is one of the original founding members and they need a serious transfusion of good, younger conservatives.

McMullin is good. He needs some more experience but considering how far he’s come this fast he is amazing. I intend to write him in now that he’s registered here in Wisconsin.

IMO Ted Cruz made a serious mistake when he encouraged people to vote for Trump. I suspect that new faces will be the voice of a new movement when that spot could have belonged to Cruz.

We all need to stop voting for the corrupt major parties if we are ever to have a decent country again. Of course no 3rd party will ever be viable if we don’t support them and their candidates.

  19. helenk3 Says:

my political watching tonight will be the classic movie Advise and Consent

  20. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I love it – Obama’s overreach is finally being smacked down like it should be. This time, it is his Transgender bathroom policy: http://therightscoop.com/boom-obama-gets-slapped-transgender-bathroom-injunction

Oh, and this applies NATIONWIDE. A judge following the law! Amazing!

  21. kenoshamarge Says:

Krauthammer: Trump committed POLITICAL SUICIDE tonight

Krauthammer says the reason this was damaging was because Trump was winning the debate up until that point, that he was doing what he needed to do to try and stop the slide of voters switching to Hillary. Now all the headlines are going to be about Trump refusing to say he’d accept the election results instead of about Trump winning.

  22. kenoshamarge Says:

Debate moderator Chris Wallace was fair and balanced and liberals lost their freaking minds

Fox News’ Chris Wallace is getting rave reviews for his performance moderating the third presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

In stark contrast to previous debates, Wallace’s questions were focused on the issues, he was fair to both candidates, and he kept the audience quiet while the candidates answered his questions.

  23. kenoshamarge Says:

    Debate Winners and Losers

Last night was the final Presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and there were fewer fireworks than in previous debates. In this one we finally spent most of it hearing their answers on policy questions and discussing what they would do as President, and much less time on trading barbs over each other’s various scandals.

Believe it or not, and you may be forgiven for forgetting this in our modern media environment, but the policies and things they will do actually matter almost as much as whether or not they are jerks. Crazy.

With that said, there were winners and losers tonight. And they are …

  24. kenoshamarge Says:

  25. kenoshamarge Says:

I’ve read a dozen, or more, takes on the debate and most think that Trump “won” but then stepped in it by refusing to say he would accept the election results. That may play well with his fanboys and members of his cult but probably not with the rest of the public.

That’s not to say we don’t all know there is election fraud. However I don’t think most of us think there is enough to influence a presidential election.

ANY fraud is too much fraud and unless the Dems back off their “there’s no fraud” meme when most of America doesn’t agree they will do their party more damage than this Hillary election is all ready doing. JMO.

group files FEC complaint based on O’Keefe video

    • kenoshamarge Says:

If anything is going to be done about voter fraud it will have to be done by the people. The government is corrupt from top to bottom. Comey of the FBI and Lynch of the DOJ will do as their master Obama tells them.

Remember before there was the perfidious Lynch there was Holder who refused to do anything about Black Panther Thugs outside voting places.

  28. helenk3 Says:

the apple does not fall far from the tree. Someone should take sonny aside and talk to him. this has to be one of the dumbest comments ever in an election
running for president is a step down for him

  29. helenk3 Says:

Hillary’s health should be questioned. It is a legitimate concern.
right not we have valjar running the country, will we have huma if hillary gets in?
