One of the things we hear the most complaints about is the dumbing down of America. I should know, I complain about it all the time. We have become not so much a “stupid” people as an ignorant people. All thanks to a sub-par education system that was once a very good education system. Then the Federal Government got their hands on it and “poof”, very good no more. This is an issue upon which many other issues hinge. How can an ignorant people vote smart?
One of my other complaints is the infantilizing of America. I’m not just talking about the silly college students who act like spoiled little kids. I’m talking about adults that act the same way.
Remember when you were a kid and you tried to blame someone else for your actions? Remember how your parents didn’t fall for that nonsense? Then why do parents that won’t excuse their children excuse politicians? That puzzles me. Â
Few adults are willing to be responsible for their own words or actions. Miniscule number of politicians are willing to be responsible for their works or actions. Or they simply say, “I take full responsibility for whatever” and that’s the end of the conversation. As if just saying you are responsible is enough. Hillary does it all the time.
When things go wrong, as they certainly will if enough people are determined to find fault with what you say or do, the quickest response seems to be to point a finger at someone else. Not my fault they cry – it’s him/her over there. What hogwash!
All politicians are good at finger pointing and blame gaming but Obama has raised it to an art form. Nothing is ever his fault. He always has the highest motives for all he does he whines and his detractors are either racist or just plain mean. Anyone that criticizes him does it because they hate America and the American people especially poor people or women. Saying his opponents hates poor black women is a double whammy. Again, what hogwash!
Now we have a new blame-gamer on the scene with Donald, “the whiner” Trump. This is the man who is supposed to be some big tough guy that would take on the PTB and the media and win one for the country. He’s supposedly the Alpha male that would make America Great Again. Just what we need, another Whiner In Chief.
Sorry but with all deference to stepping on a campaign slogan, America is still great, it’s the government, the media, the major party candidates running for president and a large number of parasitical citizens that aren’t all that great.
Right now I am talking about phony finger pointers and blame-gamers which leads to hypocrites too. But they alone deserve their own post on another day. A much, much, longer post. Maybe a row of post like a bunch of fence posts.
Example: Michelle Obama ripped Donald Trump last week, accusing him of sexual assault for bragging in a private conversation about how easy women are for celebrities. The lewd sexist language just horrified her. She suffered a nasty flashback to all the rap stars she’s applauded at the White House.
Michelle Obama is a very popular First Lady. For one thing she has all the African American community as fans. She has all the media at her feet. She could wear the drapes ala Scarlett O’Hara and the fashionistas would swoon.
She tells lies and no one dares call her on it because that would be both racist and sexist. She points a finger at Donald Trump for being lewd while exposing her two young daughters to the lyrics and antics of rappers like Jay-Z. Maybe mentioning her is on the topic of finger-pointing phonies works well after all.
Both parties are finger-pointing phonies. Both parties play the blame-game at every opportunity. Like toddlers telling momma that “he hit me back first” they whine and point their grubby fingers at someone else. The problem for the right is that the left is much better at it and has the added advantage of a biased media that helps them point a giant finger at the right.
It’s not that the right doesn’t deserve it – it’s that if anyone is silly enough to blame one side for the mess they’ve made of this country. The Democrats, the Republicans, the media and the voters are all to blame. And lest I appear a finger-pointing phony too, so am I. I voted for many of the miscreants that have done us wrong. I didn’t do my due diligence before voting. At one time I was a stupid, mindless party line voter. I woke up. Now if only more voters would wake up too. Because until they do the finger-pointing phonies will win. And we will all lose.

Another great post, Marge – don’t know how you do it!
I have to say something abt Michelle – the other day, I was at the dentist’s (routine checkup). A young woman who works there and I had political discussions in the past. After my app’t, she was saying that she “unapologetically supports Hillary,” and she is “all in.” She then went on to talk abt Michelle – she said she just loves her to death, and gets “goosebumps” when she hears her speak.
Yep.
Because it is exactly as you said – no one calls Michelle on her lies, dissembling, and myth-spinning. No one. She has been race-baiting for decades now, and continues still, yet she gets away with it all, along with destroying lunches in public schools…
As for Trump, it really is amazing how he is both such a bully and then claims victim status all the time. My fave now is his blaming the media – the very same media that elevated him and gave him $2 BILLION worth of free ad time – as being so mean to him. Big baby. Suck it up already.
Thanks for this!

While Obama is not as “Teflon” as he once was he is still popular. Amazingly so considering the shape the country is in. But the same black population that calls white people racist for voting for other white people unapologetically supports black candidates no matter how crooked or incompetent or like Hank Johnson of Alabama, downright stupid.
Michelle Obama plays the victim and the AA community and media cheer. This from a woman that sits at the pinnacle of power and prestige in this country and in most of the world. All pity Michelle Obama. What a phony!
I don’t understand people that near worship her. She whines and lies and seldom mentions the good, solid middle-class life that was the horror of her upbringing.
People are fools and fooled because they want to believe something – whether it’s true or not. Minds are terrible things to waste and we are more concerned about wasting plastic bottles of water than we are with the waste of ignorance and dishonesty.

this post reminded me of something that happened to me years ago
I was a clerk at Conrail RR. the general manager that we had was about 5’2″ in height with 6′ mouth. he could make grown men cry. I used to put together and distribute the “morning report”. One morning I was putting it together and noticed that my boss had changed some figures and they were wrong. So I disributed the report without the page and then went back and changed the page when I got the figures needed. When I went to the meeting to give the page to the people there, this general manager started screaming at me. I told him it was not my fault. He started screaming was it Mr …… Fault? I told him that Mr …..was my boss and it is never my bosses fault. He stopped thought about it and sat down saying “you know, she is right”. I think I am the only one that ever did that to him

If more people had the courage you showed, there would be fewer bullies. They do what they do because they have a little power and can get away with it. I’ve seen that type in every place I ever worked. Stand up to them and they melt.

another story with this guy
the circus train was coming north, when it got Newark Delaware the doors on the animal cars were open. I walked through the dispatchers office singing lions and tigers and bears O My. the got that fixed and it went on to NY to play .
now on the way back to our region it started have problems again the NY division just wanted off their railroad and on to ours before it completely fell apart, It goes in to enola yard (Harrisburg) and falls apart. our guys get it fixed taking hours. The gang forman called and said they might not get the reports in on time for the Am report. I told him if anyone complained just tell then that if you had more than two hands you would be on the train instead of fixing it.
Then some bum sets fire to one of the cars.
The GM came into my boss”s office screaming like a wounded bangee. “The next GD time that GD train comes on this GD railroad you are going to ride it.
all I could think was what ever you do DO NOT LAUGH.
when he left , I told my boss Hey your kids will love riding the circus train.

PS can you really see the special snowflakes coming out of school dealing with someone like this?
there would be tears in the ears

They would be offended and scurry around looking for their “safe” place.
College and to a slightly lesser extent High School is supposed to prepare you for life in the “real” world. Major fail of our education system.

America – equal opportunity for all – and then some!
Regardless of who wins the presidential election this November, we will witness history being made.
If Hillary Clinton wins the U.S. presidential election, it will be the first time in history that two U.S. presidents have slept with each other!
If Donald Trump wins the U.S. presidential election, it will be the first time in history that a billionaire moves into public housing vacated by a black family.

I’m not sure what this will mean for the final total. Steve Deace has been predicting the very low turnout on November 8th.
Many young voters are disillusioned with the corruption and the lies. But then so are many of us old goats. The problem for them is they have never seen anything else. We know it can be better and that it has been. They do not.
