The emails, the tweets, the thug infested rallies, the empty rhetoric from Hillary in a voice that makes nails on a blackboard seem like music. The ignorance of Trump and his incomprehensible rants cheered by his adoring “fans”. Please make it stop!
The excuses, dear Lord the idiotic excuses – followed by the faux righteous outrage from the other side. Please make it stop!
Politics is always less than a delight to the senses. Even those we can “like” or support leave something to be desired. That’s because they’re politicians. And as Napoleon told us; “In politics, stupidity is not a handicap.” Our own eyes and ears tell us that constantly. The pathetic part of the whole thing is that there are so many people who are taken in by these idiotic fools. They go to rallys and they cheer like teenagers at a rock concert.
Just make it …
Can you, for example, imagine anyone stupid enough to vote for Hank Johnson of Georgia? Rep. Johnson of the “Guam tipping over” idiocy? It’s bad enough that he’s a fool but he convinces a lot of fools to vote for him. He’s been representing the 4th district since assuming office on January 3rd, 2007. Which means he’s been re-elected. Given that he was preceded by nut-job Cynthia McKinney you pretty much know all you need to know about the voters in his district. Thereby proving that the mass idiocy of the American voter isn’t new to this election cycle. It’s spread.
As the great Sci-Fi author Isaac Asimov reminds us;
“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”
Doctor Asimov graduated from high school at 15 to enter Columbia University. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1939 and went on to get his M.A. and Ph.D. from the same institution. Therefore I respect his right to know the difference between ignorance and knowledge. I usually know it too but credentials aren’t nearly as good as his.
Considering the ignorance most voters exhibit it’s no wonder we get the fools to represent us. Fools, mountebanks and crooks. Everyone of them voted into office by the voters. Ain’t democracy great?
“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr.
As this horrible election is finally winding down you wonder how we could have gotten to this point. To an election where whoever wins, the country loses. An election where two groups of voters, aka cult members don’t care that their candidate is crazy, dishonest, incompetent or corrupt. Because the world will end if you vote for the wrong one.
There are some reasons, reasons not excuses, that explain the ignorance of many people. Our education system is meant to indoctrinate not to educate. Thus many of our High School graduates are incapable of filling out a job application. How could they possibly make a good choice about voting?
Media indoctrinates because those that control media and most of the “news” people on the air waves are liberals. They care more about their agenda than informing the public. Why do your job? That bit of integrity seems to have been thrown out with decency and principles.
How about a first lady who heads for the fainting couch at the words of the uncouth buffoon running on the Republican ticket?
If this first lady is a role model for girls and young women then we can look forward to more feminine ignorance and hypocrisy, as if there wasn’t enough of that.
The ongoing saga of the Hillary campaign is incredible. The insertion of the FBI into the election just days before the public goes to vote is strange to say the least. The campaign itself now has the added taint of Anthony Weiner. Her corruption evidently wasn’t enough – they needed to add his perversion.
Saddest part of all this is that it won’t matter to many people. Many will simply vote for her because she’s a Democrat and they always vote for Democrats. They can’t ignore the sacred “D”.
They will vote for her they in spite of knowing she belongs in jail not in the highest office in our country. How do you make such a lack of common sense and decency stop?
Some will vote for her because bad as she is they fear a Donald Trump in the White House. That I can understand. At least it’s a rational reason.
What can I say about Trump and the Trumpanzees that I haven’t already said? I find it incomprehensible that any thinking human being could support this vile buffoon. I have done some serious rethinking about people I know, and once liked and/or respected who follow him.
I’m not talking about those who have decided, reluctantly, thoughtfully, that they will vote for him because they think Hillary will be so horrible as POTUS. They think there might be some small chance he will be marginally better.
No, I’m talking about those that have supported him from the beginning, those that swallow his incomprehensible rants and cheer him on. Those that ignore every lie, every twist, every bit of evidence that he isn’t fit to elected dog-catcher. Those people I have purged from my life. Forever!
So here we are – a week before an election when one of two vile, unfit, disgusting people will be sworn in as the leader of this nation. I can only SMH and wonder where we all went so very wrong.
I believe that it starts with those who’s job it is to be the truth between the public and the politicians. A public too lazy to learn and swallows all the swill the media serves up.
