Happy Friday! Another week has come and gone and I am full of clichés like that for today.
Has this been a good week?
A bad week?
Has the world improved? Has something happened to make us hopeful?
Many on the left seem to believe the world has ended. They scream and cry and protest about the horrible things President Trump has done. Silly me, I thought Obama was still president and Trump wouldn’t be sworn in, and thus have the power to do anything, until January 20, 2017.
Let’s take a look at what is or isn’t going on …
The cartoonists are still having fun sticking pins in the Fall of the House of Clinton. We can only hope this is not a premature celebration and that the Clintons don’t rise from the dead like other political Zombies. I fear we have not heard the last of Chelsea.
The Michael Ramirez cartoon below is my favorite.
The left, media, Hollywood and politicians is still filled with exploding heads and verbal stupidity over the election of Donald Trump. If I had known how crazy a Trump win would make the left I would might have viewed it differently.
No on second thought I still would have thought crazy Donald winning was a disaster. But I thought corrupt old Hillary would be a disaster too. I could see no upside to a win by either. Now at least I have the fun of watching a bunch of idiots prove that when they took a jackass as their spirit animal it was the right thing to do.
The week has been filled with the sound and fury of lefty rage at a loss they hadn’t thought possible. After all the media had been assuring them for weeks that The Donald would lose in a landslide. Well, maybe a little landslide. Well Hillary would win by a slim margin but win she would. And the media knows. Or maybe not.
Leftist stars with their megawatt brains had a cracked crystal ball. They relentlessly insulted Trump as unelectable and were uber-confident that on Election Day we’d see a rout.
In 2011, NBC’s Seth Meyers joked at the White House correspondents dinner — with Trump in attendance — that “Donald Trump has been saying he will run for president as a Republican, which is surprising because I just assumed he was running as a joke.”
Celebrities threatened, promised to leave the country if Trump was elected. I suspect that garnered enough votes to put him over the top.
It’s almost a little sad that these spoiled Beautiful People had their balloon popped. Try not to point and laugh. ~ Brent Bozell
Now let’s hear from our Commander in Chief:
Just a few weeks ago on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Obama came to read mean tweets about him, one of which said: “President Obama will go down as perhaps the worst president in the history of the United States. Exclamation point! @realDonaldTrump. Well, @realDonaldTrump, at least I will go down as a president.”
Just add that to the long, the very long, list of things of which Obama has been wrong.
This is par for the course when it comes to Sotomayor. She has been a reliable judicial activist ever since she was confirmed to the Supreme Court. Before then, Sotomayor made statements that fell in line with leftist ideology, such as: “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life” and the “Court of Appeals is where policy is made.”
Sotomayor is voicing support to the anti-Trump protests, revealing her partisanship yet again in a position that is not supposed to be political.
This is an ugly woman. Inside and out. With this kind of attitude she has no right to sit on the highest court in the country. Actually she is unfit for sit on any court. I include traffic court.
Sotomayor and Kagan are two of the reasons so many on the right finally decided they must vote for Trump on the chance that he might give us better justices. They/we knew Hillary would not.
Here’s some news I found this morning clicking around the net:
Trump Chooses Senator Jeff Sessions For Attorney General http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2016/11/18/breaking-jeff-sessions-offered-position-as-attorney-general-n2247600
I didn’t remember, if I ever knew, that Sessions served as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama for over a decade before running for the Senate in the 1990s. I’m not sure how I feel about this choice.
Trump team denies reports of plans for Muslim registry. I don’t know what to believe about this. The media is constantly “reporting” lies about Trump and Trump is constantly lying about things he’s said. So it’s a toss up who to believe. In this case I tend to lean towards believing Trump. That’s only because the media is working 24/7 to paint Trump as a racist. I don’t think he is. I think he’s a lunatic but I don’t think he’s a racist.
One last cartoon to show how I’ve felt about this week. You know me and my cartoons and my belief that they say what I want to say only better. So here tis…
And for me…
