🎬 Weekly Wrap-Up November 25 🎬 Open Thread

Happy Friday! Another week has come and gone.

Has this been a good week, a bad week, something in between?

No week with Thanksgiving can be all bad.

Have politicians suddenly become smart instead of sly? Has the media had an ethics transplant?

The image below might be a good place to start:

Ben Shapiro sure knows how to get under the skin of liberal academia. Imagine him thinking he would be free to give a speech about free speech. Doesn’t he know that there is no longer any free speech zones on college campuses?

Hard to get more indicative of our world today than that! However our institutes of higher learning, those tasked with educating the next generation have been busy providing “safe” spaces, Play-doh and coloring books so all is well in education land. If they were kindergartens that is.

No matter what I try to say a cartoonist has said it first and said it better. Cartoonist Michael Ramirez is remarkable for doing that.

In spite of media claim the Trump camp is in disarray and not able to pick his team he is actually ahead of schedule. But why should the media start telling the truth now.

Thus far we have:

Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus to his senior White House leadership team

Jeff Sessions – AG

Nikki Haley UN Ambassador

Betsy DeVos to Dept. of Education

Myron Ebell to the EPA

Wilbur Ross to Commerce

Some of these choices are viewed as good, some as bad, and most depend on which side of the political fence you stand on. DeVos made some Trumpanzee heads explode.

Out in Moonbat land  where fools live divorced from reality some fool showed us just how stupid they can be.   Moonbat Calls for Military Coup to Stop Trump From Taking Office    In the real world, where this cretin doesn’t dwell, such an action is called a “coup” and mostly happens in banana republics – where this idiot belongs. You can’t make up stuff like this, it would be too unbelievable.

This week Donald Trump spent time tweeting foolishly about something that doesn’t’ matter. The whole Hamilton episode made the Dems look bad. Until Trump went bananas about it.

Did anyone think that he would suddenly grow some common sense just because he was elected? We were told his minders would not allow him to tweet once he won the election. Can anyone explain to me how he has less power to do and say what he damn well pleases now that he’s been elected? Especially since he’s convinced that he should keep doing what got him where he is.

He won’t lose any fans by attacking the media. Some libs may moan and the media is whining non-stop but Trump doesn’t care. He knows that a majority of the public has no respect for the media and enjoys seeing someone take them down.

In case you were wondering: It’s Official: Trump Wins Michigan in Closest Race State Has Ever Recorded.

The 2016 presidential election is a first for the state of Michigan. The state has never had a presidential race this close in its history, according to the Detroit Free Press. Michigan went to the Democratic candidate five times out of the last five presidential elections, according to election tracking website 270 to win.

And over at CNN:  Hateful Progressive Goes Full Racist – No White People Should Lead Democratic Party.  No one on the panel with her said one damn word. Anyone gonna tell me this isn’t racism?

Jonah Goldberg wrote a great piece about infrastructure this week. Jonah Goldberg: Building Infrastructure that Even a Conservative Could Love   Jonah writes a great piece nearly every week. Jonah, bless him, gives us facts and figures that make us understand some things we never did before.  For instance I didn’t know any of the facts in the paragraph below – did you?

It took 410 days to build the Empire State Building and 16 months to build the Pentagon but nearly 20 years to complete Boston’s Big Dig highway tunnel project. The Hoover Dam was scheduled to take seven years but was completed in five. That would be a generous timetable for an Environmental Protection Agency review of the proposal today.

Obama is out running his mouth even though hardly anyone is paying any attention.

I expect that he will continue to spew his b.s. and poison after he leaves the Oval Office just like Clinton and Carter. Only George Bush, whom I never appreciated until Obama took office, has had the grace and class to remain mostly silent. He still does good works, far more than most know, he just doesn’t take bows for them.

Rosie O’Donnell is proving just how disgusting libs can be as she is spewing about Trump’s 10 year old son. The Obama girls were, of course, protected by the media. Looks like Baron Trump will not be. There’s that old double standard by the media again. And the proof they have no low they will not go. Does the boy have autism? I don’t know. And neither does O’Donnell. Makes me think that she’s worthy of the names Trump called her. And I don’t like feeling like that.

I don’t like Paul Krugman. I think he’s a loon. I pay little attention to anything he says. He’s just not worthy my time. However this article by Daniel Payne illustrates the left and fools like Krugman too well to pass up. Paul Krugman Illustrates The Damaged Political Psyches Of The Left

The election damaged the political psyche of liberals in ways that it will probably take a while for us to understand. When a Republican challenges the results of an election, it’s a “coup.” When the loser is a Democrat, however, such a challenge is absolutely necessary, “just in case.” The next four years are not going to be kind to Paul Krugman and to people like him: they are going to discredit themselves even more thoroughly than they already have, all under the auspices of an insufferable, smarmy intellectual superiority. Can you imagine what it will be like for them when Trump wins a second time?
This week can be pretty much summed up as libs going crazy – media proving once again that it has no credibility, Trump the Twitter King tweeting and Thanksgiving making us thankful we aren’t as crazy as they are.

Dan Rather Melts Down at Fear Trump Is Endangering Founding Principles; Urges Press to Rise Up

Perhaps the most eye-rolling moment was when the man who conjured up and touted the false story about then-President George W. Bush oozed that, using the Declaration of Independence as a guide, “these truths may be self-evident but they are not self-replicating” because “each generation has to renew these vows.”

He continued with references to freedom of the press (which he abused and thus lost his job) and comparing this moment in American history to our most tenuous moments:

How this once mighty man has fallen. Once at the top of heap in “journalism” he allowed his bias to lead him instead of doing his damn job and reporting the “news” and now he’s just a sad old man hoping some liberal panel may want to hear his opinion. Most don’t as a generation that never heard of him is the demographic they wish to grow.

    Great post, Marge!

We are having some major internet issues here and can only access it by tapping into the main office building’s wi-fi down by the pool. So if y’all don’t hear from me very oftren over the next week or so, that’s why. HOPEFULLY, they will get it fixed soon, but it stopped working even via the hardwire, so yeah. It’s bad. Ugh.

Anyway – hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks for sharing that story. As you know I raised goats for many years as my son was allergic to cows milk. They are amazing animals and I loved them all. Even the “Stinky” , the billy goat.
