Bound And Determined *Open Thread*

Yep, President Obama and the Democrat are just hellbent on creating as much havoc and chaos as possible before Obama is out the door.

obama20gop20khamenei20israel20iran20nuke20deal20cartoonFor example: guess who’s helping the terrorist nation of Iran get itself some uranium? I know you will be just SHOCKED to know that would be Obama. Yes, before his term (thankfully) comes to an end, Obama has not only stabbed Israel in the back (well, he’s been doing that all along – he just made it glaringly obvious to everyone this last time), but he is enabling their insane, whackadoodle, terrorist, Iran, to get uranium.

If you’re thinking to yourself, “hang on a sec – isn’t uranium what gets enriched to make a NUCLEAR BOMB??” The answer is: yes. Yes, it is. And the amount Obama has given the big ol’ thumbs up to Iran getting can be enriched to make – wait for it – TEN NUCLEAR BOMBS, as reported in AP (via The Right Scoop):

Two senior diplomats said the transfer recently agreed by the U.S. and five other world powers that negotiated the nuclear deal with Iran foresees delivery of 116 metric tons (nearly 130 tons) of natural uranium. U.N. Security Council approval is needed but a formality, considering five of those powers are permanent Security Council members, they said.

Uranium can be enriched to levels ranging from reactor fuel or medical and research purposes to the core of an atomic bomb. Iran says it has no interest in such weapons and its activities are being closely monitored under the nuclear pact to make sure they remain peaceful.

The diplomats, whose main focus is Iran’s nuclear program, demanded anonymity Monday because they are not allowed to discuss the program’s confidential details.

The diplomats said any natural uranium transferred to Iran after the deal came into effect would be under strict surveillance by the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency for 25 years after implementation of the deal.

David Albright, whose Institute of Science and International Security often briefs U.S. lawmakers on Iran’s nuclear program, says the shipment could be enriched to enough weapons-grade uranium for more than 10 simple nuclear bombs, “depending on the efficiency of the enrichment process and the design of the nuclear weapon.” (Click here to read the rest.)

What the hell?? Now you know why this agreement was “confidential.” What. The. HELL?

President Obama isn’t alone in wreaking some havoc on his way out. The Senate Democrats continue their bratty, petulant, childish ways by threatening  to cause trouble for Trump’s Cabinet picks during the hearings this week (beginning on Tuesday).

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t it typical for a President’s Cabinet picks to receive few roadblocks with the assumption that a President should have the people he wants in his Cabinet? Seems to me that was what Republicans were saying when they gave the green light to people like Eric Holder and his female clone, Loretta Lynch.

Uh, yeah. That is typical, but not this time around. From Fox News:

Donald Trump’s team has a message for Senate Democrats threatening to slow-walk their nominees: Give the president-elect’s Cabinet picks the same treatment extended to President Obama’s.

Top transition officials, along with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., are citing a potential double standard as some Democratic lawmakers seek a delay in advance of a packed schedule of confirmation hearings.

Eight years ago, the Senate confirmed seven Cabinet-level nominees the day of Obama’s inauguration, including top picks like Janet Napolitano for Homeland Security secretary. Hillary Clinton was confirmed as secretary of state the following day.

“We confirmed seven Cabinet appointments the day President Obama was sworn in. We didn’t like most of them either. But he won the election,” McConnell told CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “So all of these little procedural complaints are related to their frustration in having not only lost the White House, but having lost the Senate.”

McConnell said, “We need to sort of grow up here and get past that. We need to have the president’s national security team in place on Day One.” […] (Click here to read the rest.)

The realty is that, despite all the bloviating and temper tantrums, the Democrats can’t stop these Cabinet picks anyway. They just don’t have the numbers.

Of course, if there is something really egregious with one of the picks, sure, hold their feet to the fire. But for the most part, it seems Dems are just doing it to be obstinate. It is just childish and petty. I don’t always agree with Senate Majority Leader McConnell, but he’s right – they need to grow the hell up already.

police-target-600-ciOne of the BIG Cabinet picks happening on Tuesday is Senator Jeff Sessions, who is up for the top job at the DOJ, Attorney General. One of my liberal friends is just BESIDE herself over this nomination. She never really could tell me WHY, mind you, but she just knows he is going to be HORRIBLE at it because he is Conservative.

Turns out that many Law Enforcement agencies disagree with her. From The Hill:

Sessions is backed by key figures from within several prominent police groups, including the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the nation’s largest police union; the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association; the National Association of Police Organizations; and the National Sheriffs Association.

“We have about a 20-year relationship with Jeff Sessions from his time in the Senate on the Judiciary Committee and our members in Alabama who worked with him, both as state attorney general and a U.S. attorney, and the best way to sum it up is that we don’t have anything bad to say about Jeff Sessions,” FOP executive director Jim Pasco told The Hill.

“He has extraordinary insight into the demands and stresses of a police officer’s life and also has a real reverence for the rule of law. It sounds corny but it’s true, and that’s what our members pray for in a prosecutor.” […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Now, you know I have no love lost for Trump, but this double standard and hypocrisy is just beyond tiresome. Give them their hearings, don’t obstruct unnecessarily, and vote on them without any feet dragging. Whatever Obama got is what Trump should get. It’s that simple.

That goes for the hypocrisy in how we treat Iran – who SHOULD be our enemy – compared to how we treat ISRAEL, who is supposed to be our ally. That needs to stop, and I hope the whole “confidential” agreement with Iran will be a thing of the past soon and very soon…

Stay tuned for those hearings this week (you can see the schedule HERE). Should be interesting to see how they turn out.

Feel free to discuss the above or anything else that’s on your minds today. This is an Open Thread.

Great Post Rev! And so timely.

To be perfectly honest I never thought much about Jeff Sessions until he came out for Trump early on. Then I did think about him and what I thought wasn’t flattering.

Having seen the liberal hysteria I felt duty bound to do some research about Sessions. He is, from what I can find, a worthy, decent man. He certainly doesn’t appear to be a “racist” but then that word doesn’t mean much. He appears to have fought the KKK and even worked to get the death penalty for some of them. Certainly not the kind of thing to be expected from a racist.

The word is overused and misused to the point where I pay no attention to their name-calling anymore. When the left starts calling out black on white racism I might pay attention. Probably not.

Two great cartoons too – you feed my addiction.

Video: Watch this black politico destroy Al Sharpton’s squeal for ‘season of civil disobedience’ over Sessions pick

Shannon said Sharpton is following the Democratic party’s playbook of playing the race card whenever they don’t get their way. Shannon stood behind Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general, saying Sessions is a good man.

“When the liberals are losing they always play the race card. So if you want to know if you’re winning against the liberals, just wait for them to squeal about racism. That’s exactly what we have here.”

Levin: Dems fear Sessions ‘not because he’s a racist, but because he’s a conservative!’

During his radio program Monday night, Mark Levin recounted a story from several decades ago retold by CR contributor Hans von Spakovsky: How black Democrats stole votes in Alabama … and Jeff Sessions tried to stop it.

Levin then went on to predict that the Left will undoubtedly bring up the Perry County “racist prosecution.” But, “in fact, ladies and gentlemen, it is those who manufacture the charges against Sessions that are the racists!”

“They are the ones who fear Sessions, not because he is a racist, but because he is a conservative,” Levin blasted unequivocally.

That is what I gathered was their problem – he is a Conservative and they want to demand that every Cabinet person adhere to he DEMS’ ideology because they should all be middle of the road kind of people – just like Obama picked. AHAHAHA. Ahem.

      Anyway, thanks for this!

This is beyond troubling that 20 Jewish Centers received bomb threats across a number of states:

So Sen. Cory Booker was going to speak out against Jeff Sessions for an unsubstantiated comment allegedly made back in 1986, and that in general, he would be TERRIBLE for all minorities in the country, like women, LGBT people, et. al.

Well, nothing like truth willing out. Seems just last year, ol’ Booker teamed up with Sessions on – wait for it – Civil Rights:

I am so sick of these publicity-seeking hypocrites.

Good for Randy Quaid for speaking out to the Hollywood elite, including Meryl Streep, after her idiotic speech the other night (h/t Facebook friend):
