Here is another giant baby brawl from two people in their seventies. It’s no wonder that college students act like toddlers when the President-Elect and a man who has been in Congress since 1987 act like two little boys on the playground.
Trump supporters actually have several points in their favor. First no one even expects Trump to act like an adult anymore. His twitter tantrums are SOP. He is (in)famous for hitting back hard, and often inappropriately when someone makes a disparaging remark.
I often wonder how he decides who to hit with a twitter comment because disparaging remarks from the left, the lefty media and even some on the right are nonstop.
Media and the left are now heading for the fainting couch because Trump twittered at Civil Rights Icon John Lewis. Evidently being a Civil Rights leader 60 years ago gives Lewis immunity from all criticism for life.
Add in his skin color and he’s got to be right and twittering Donald must be wrong. At least according to the left and many cowards on the right.
For years the right has cowered at the mere suggestion that they are racist. After all getting called a racist, a white racist please because black racists don’t’ exist, is worse than being called a child raping pedophile.
Just ask Meryl Streep the self-righteous Hollywood diva, about that child-raping pedophile thing. She, who is outraged by Trump, stood and cheered for Roman Polanski, the man who raped a 13 year old girl.
Clutch your pearls in outrage Meryl, as your hypocrisy stood beside you on the Golden Globes Stage for all the world to see.
Oh and just FYI, for once I agree with Trump, I think she is vastly overrated.
But back to the Trump/Lewis spat. I know it’s what the kids say but, John Lewis did start the whole thing. Media seems to think that Trump should be “presidential” and simply allow Lewis’ claim that Trump’s presidency isn’t legitimate. I think not.
Lewis and the left were undoubtedly hoping that what happened would happen. Trump would not be able to resist taking the bait. He seldom can. Evidently only lack of time keeps him from slapping back at every critic.
Lewis must have been a bit disappointed when Trump didn’t just call him an old poopy pants or the like but talked about Lewis’ district in Georgia. Media immediately jumped to the defense of the Iconic Congressman. Note that the words Icon, Hero, Leader, Stalwart, Resolute or some such homage must be used with the name John Lewis. After all, he was really something 60 years ago. And from that time to this it is inappropriate, improper to ever criticize him again.
Media also didn’t bother to mention the problems with John Lewis’s district. In their fawning defense of the Civil Rights Icon they just said every thing was fine and dandy with the 5th District of Georgia. Hunky dory in fact. Except that isn’t exactly the truth. But then what reported in the media these days is?
I am not now and never have been a fan of John Lewis. One must respect his contribution to Civil Rights. His being a lefty hack and a race-baiter since then deserves no respect from me and will not get any.
John Lewis claimed that this is the first time he has boycotted an inauguration. Seems that wasn’t true. John Lewis Says He FORGOT He Boycotted W’s Inauguration.
I guess that can happen. I know I forget things from time to time and I’m 4 years younger than Lewis. But then forgetting about something as important in politics as an inauguration seems a tad more than an oops. Seems more like the words of a man who expects that he won’t be called on his dishonesty, or forgetfulness what with him being a “Civil Rights Icon” and all.
Lewis skipped George W. Bush’s inauguration in 2001, saying that he did not “believe that Bush is the true elected president.”
More race-baiting and lying from Lewis when he lied that Tea Party members called him the n-word in 2010.
John Lewis has spent much of his time in Congress calling every prominent Republican a racist. That’s his shtick. He plays the race card constantly. It’s what he does. Respect his fight for civil rights if you must, but loathe the race-baiting liberal hack he has become.
At one time Lewis said Republicans are worse than “Dogs and Water Hoses in the Streets“. No hyperbolic racism there. /s
Mark Levin says that: ‘The Left is in full-out attack mode!’ That’s certainly true. Listen to Levin as he explains the truth about Lewis’ swipe at Trump. Listen to this podcast from Levin if you have time, its less than 12 minutes and contains a lot of information.
In a world where we often talk of disruptors in business, Trump is the ultimate political disruptor. What if this supposedly vulgar, rude man who makes politically incorrect comments about various people and groups were the one finally to put our disadvantaged communities on the road to economic recovery and opportunity? What if Donald Trump made the inner cities great for the first time?
What would that do to the John Lewises of the world (not to mention the more obviously exploitative Sharptons and Jacksons)? It would make them irrelevant. More specifically, it would show them to be irrelevant, because they already are.
People will have to make up their own minds about Trump. Many all ready have. I am still in the wait and see group. I am perfectly willing to give him credit when credit is due.
As for John Lewis, unless and until he does something that is of benefit to the country and does something to try to draw us together as a people instead of dividing us, I will regard him with no respect for who he has become.
In the case of John Lewis, not all acorns grow mighty oaks. Some just turn into compost.
