On The March, Another Gosnell, And SCOTUS Stand *Open Thread*

Back in the day, I was one of the young women who marched for Women’s Rights. I proudly referred to myself as a Feminist, read all of the Betty Friedan books, was a founding member of the NOW chapter in my hometown, and more. I supported women having opportunities comparable to men, girls to boys, and to stop being seen as just our genitalia.

c1c1ed51b5b737be3899bdc011a476453e35d879Well, the latter seems to be the exact opposite of what women THESE days want, as evidenced by the march this past weekend. Wearing images of genitalia on their heads and bodies seemed to be their prime objective, as well as trashing the streets on which they marched.

Oh, and only representing liberal Pro-Choice women. Pro-Life feminists were not allowed, certainly not on the endorsement level. And get this – unlike back in the day when our marches were inspired by women like Gloria Steinem, this most recent one had a Palestinian Pro-SHARIA LAW woman at the helm. Seriously. From The Federalist:

That hypocrisy shadows activist and National Co-Chair of the Women’s March Linda Sarsour. In the past Sarsour has railed against women spotlighting misogyny in the Muslim world. She openly advocates for including sharia law in the United States. Yet sharia law would dwarf her march’s half a million turnout to 250,000, because under sharia a woman’s testimony is worth half that of a man’s.

Uh, yeah. That is who these women who marched with vulvas on their heads are following: a supporter of Sharia Law, which would DESTROY these women for the way they were acting.
And then there is their refusal to include Pro-Life women:
It is pro-life women who champion the greatest humanitarian issue: the right for all human life to exist. The Women’s March rages against building a wall along the border and expunging Muslims through an imaginary registry. Yet these women do not recognize the dignity of human life behind the wall of a uterus and radically defend their right to expunge that life when it’s convenient for them.
The Women’s March mission statement advocates standing in solidarity to protect families, but it’s the right to life that is the first step in safeguarding the family. Protecting our children doesn’t begin when they’re on the street; it begins when they’re in the womb.
The right to life is also sacred in Islam, which has very strict conditions for abortion. Yet Sarsour, who has carved a platform out of her Muslim identity, has debased that identity by openly defending the pro-choice movement, saying, “If you want to come to the march you are coming with the understanding that you respect a woman’s right to choose.” So which is it: is she pro-choice and not Muslim, or is she pro-life and no longer a leftist activist? […] (Click here to read the rest.)

There’s that hypocrisy thing raising its ugly head again. It seems to be rampant in this regard.

And that Liberal Women’s hypocrisy allowed people like Kermit Gosnell, the “doctor” who butchered infants by performing very late term abortions, leeway for so long. Sadly, it turns out that he is not the only doctor who has acted like this. There is another doctor in Texas who has been exposed, too. I admit, I had to skip portions of the article because it was unfathomable to me that anyone could act like this, much less a doctor. From Townhall:

Well that was our answer until the recent publication of a report by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The investigation was spurred by the Baby Parts selling scandal revealed by undercover journalists from the Center for Medical Progress. The House Panel widened the investigation and looked at the activities of a Texas abortion provider. They redacted his name from the final report but the similarities with Gosnell and his house of horrors are stunning.

They have interviewed, taken evidence and secured affidavits from the Texas doctor’s employees and patients.

According to one employee, the doctor would perform around 40 late second, or third trimester abortions every week. Of these abortions “three to four infants would show signs of life.” And just like Gosnell, the doctor would immediately kill them. The employee said he employed Gosnell’s techniques of “snipping the infant’s spinal cord with scissors.”  (Click here to read the rest.)

I can barely stomach even putting this up. How in the world could a human being do this? How in the hell was this doctor able to staff such a death chamber??

Appallingly, this is not the worst of it. It gets worse. I was going to try and put some more of the article up, but I just can’t. It about made me throw up to even glance at it just now. You can read what I cannot post HERE to get a fuller picture if you want.

And that all brings me to the SCOTUS and the restrictions people want on abortion. No doubt, the Women’s March excluding Pro-Life women did a grave disservice to almost half the citizens of this nation. And no doubt, the majority of citizens are happy about Trump’s recent EO regarding funding abortions abroad. Check out the results of this Marist Poll as reported in the Daily Wire:

59% of voters thought abortion is morally wrong. 83% of respondents oppose tax dollars to support abortion in other countries; 61% want to stop taxpayers from funding abortions in the United States. 87% of Trump supporters want the U.S. funding to stop, as opposed to 39% of Clinton supporters.

But even among Clinton supporters, 55% support limiting the period in which abortions are legal; 91% of Trump supporters agree. 74% of Americans overall want abortion restricted to the first trimester; 74% of those, amounting to 55% of Americans, want the Supreme Court to restrict the time period for abortions.

34% of voters said restricting abortion should be implemented immediately; another 25% fell it is important to implement restrictions. Remarkably, 44% of those who identify as pro-choice, say restricting abortion is an immediate priority or important. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Well, thank heavens for that. Thank heavens the majority of Americans at least think abortions should be restricted to the first trimester. I could be wrong, but I would think that would greatly limit any opportunities for monsters like Gosnell and the Texas “doctor” to operate the way they did.

And if nothing else, this poll result highlights how out of touch these Million Women and their Hollywood  shills are WAY out of the mainstream. Time for the media to catch up to that reality and stop acting lie these women, their Sharia Law organizer, and their Hollywood screamers are mainstream. They are not.

Time for us as taxpayers to stop having to pay for a procedure the vast majority do not support, too.

At least that’s what I think. How about you? This is an Open Thread.

Brava Rev! Thank you for this excellent and important post.

It is long past time that the rest of the women in this country speak up and affirm that these Hollywood Harpies and the other liberal females in favor of infanticide do not speak for us.

Media doesn’t bother to “report” that a majority of citizens of this country are not in agreement of a bunch of lunatics in “pussy” caps and/or dressed as vulvas.

Women used to affirm that they were more than sex objects. Now they revel in it. Didn’t see any of those women dressed as brains did you?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Thank you, Marge. I was so disgusted when I first learned that Pro-Life women were intentionally excluded from a WOMEN’S march. I mean, REALLY – all those years ago, we were marching for the rights of ALL women, not just women who AGREED with us. That seems to no longer be the case. Now, it is only for liberal, Pro-Choice, vulgar women, apparently.

I was shocked that an old friend was one of the women in a “pussy hat,” something I find to be – well – deplorable. We fought SO FREAKIN’ HARD to be seen as more than that, and now you have celebrity women who make a practice of gyrating all over the place in very few clothes lecturing women abt our rights (there is a meme on Facebook that shows Madonna, Miley Cyrus, and others in lewd, suggestive poses). Oh, or worse yet, like Madonna, making threats against the White House.

It seems everything for which we worked – including the right to choose for oneself – has been massively corrupted.

      It makes me ill.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

Right there with ya girl! To see what has become of something I was once a part of become the disgusting thing it now is does actually make me physically ill.

Is there anything liberal women are willing to fight for other than the right to kill their own babies?

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yeah, there is that fight, and the fight to wear reproductions of reproductive organs on their heads. Wow. We really have come a long way – NOT…

  2. kenoshamarge Says:

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Uh, yeah. The article I quoted had so many worse things in it, highlighting how DEPRAVED we have come that infanticide is now okay among the Liberal set, or at least the ones with the loudest voices. The Dems in Washington and the Celebrity Liberals would make people think that the polls are flipped – that the majority supports this second and third trimester butchery.

Um, NO – we do NOT.

And we sure as hell do not support being forced to PAY for someone else’s decision to terminate a life.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

To me having some of my tax dollars, no matter how miniscule the amount is, be a part of this horror makes me feel dirty.

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Amen to that, Marge. How that ever came to be is mind boggling. The Dems did it bit by bit, it seems, and were ALLOWED to do so…

  3. kenoshamarge Says:

And the absolute insanity of having a Palestinian Woman leading a march about freedom for women passes all understanding. They must think the rest of us are as stupid as they are.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Isnt it just the height of hypocrisy to have a woman who supports SHARIA LAW as an organizer for a Women’s Rights March? Are you KIDDING me with this? It is idiocy – sheer idiocy – and shows how sheep-like have become liberal women that they would accept this woman as a leader just because she is MUSLIM.

Their PC-ness has corrupted their logic and common sense.

  4. kenoshamarge Says:

Cartoonist Gary Varvel, who is one of my favorites, has many “cartoons” about abortion. All I might add, against. Here’s good one IMO:

    Big Oops! From Chuck Schumer

Minority Leader and prime time showboat Chuck Schumer got into a verbal altercation with Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton over the nomination of Mike Pompeo to lead the CIA. Schumer asked for a delay of Pompeo so that Senator Diane Feinstein could attend the hearings of both Pompeo and Trump’s choice to be Attorney General, Jeff Sessions. Republicans agreed but under the condition that Pompeo would be confirmed on the day of the inauguration.

Schumer told Cotton that the Senate had never previously confirmed a CIA director on Inauguration Day and if Cotton had been around eight years earlier, he’d know that Republicans didn’t extend that courtesy for incoming president Barack Obama.

“Eight years ago, I was getting my ass shot at in Afghanistan,” Cotton snapped. “So don’t talk to me about where I was 8 years ago.”

Phyllis Chesler had the following link abt the Women’s March and George Soros in an email she just sent out abt some articles she had written. It is a telling piece abt the March and its organizers:

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Glenn Beck has the author of that article on his show. She’s quite something. And she was nice and civil but you could tell she had nothing but contempt for the woman who organized the march.

I wonder how anyone can believe that marching around in a vulva costume or wearing a pussy hat advances the cause of women’s rights. I would think that most “normal” women would be offended. I know I am.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, wow – I’ll have to see if I can catch that. I would love to hear what she has to say.

And I cannot fathom the answer to your question, Marge. It beats the hell out of me…

  8. helenk3 Says:

Nicki Hailly confirmed at UN ambassador

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

This is good news indeed (sorry – didn’t see this before I posted a link below). Haley will be great in that job. She sure was great in the one she had here…

  9. helenk3 Says:

Can anyone say what the women marching are actually for and not against? What I got out of it was women want to be unpaid prostitutes, have someone else pay for their birth control and if they do get pregnant , kill the kid and sell it for parts. I do not know any woman that they represent.
Carrying the isis flag during the march says a lot about their twisted thinking. Why would you want to be associated with a bunch of sickos the use women and children as sex slaves?
These twits do not have a clue about feminism.About fighting to get respect in the work place, equal pay for equal work, good child care.

  10. helenk3 Says:

corrupt employees at VA already being fired. It has not even been a week since he took office and a lot of things that needed to be done are being done.
    I am happy about this.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That is some good news. Hey, I am happy abt the right thing being done, too. Thanks for this!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I am so glad to hear this. It may send the kind of message that has been needed to be sent for a very long time. Either do your damn job or out you go.

This very definitely qualifies as a “Good Trump” thing.

You dear Helen were right when you voted for Trump because you thought he would be better than Hillary. So far he’s proving you right.

  11. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Well, this is some good news, though she will be missed here in SC: http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/315941-senate-confirms-trumps-un-ambassador

  12. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Honest to God, what is wrong with these people?? They attack Israel at the Women’s Rights March but not the countries that actually treat women like crap?? They must be extremely susceptible to propaganda and brain washing: https://unitedwithisrael.org/watch-anti-trump-womens-march-attacks-israel-silent-on-saudi-arabia

    • kenoshamarge Says:

A women’s march organized by a Palestinian woman who believes in Sharia Law isn’t about to be about women’s rights. How women on the left can be that stupid is beyond me.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

It is truly astonishing, isn’t it? Apparently, they believe that Sharia Law really ISN’T that bad, and ignore the ways in which women, LGB people, and on I could go, are treated in Sharia Law countries. Those have to all be lies by the Right, I reckon. Ugh.

  13. kenoshamarge Says:

  14. kenoshamarge Says:

    And then there’s this:

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Seriously. SO tired of every single day these pro protesters out there.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

Me too. And notice how the media is suddenly interested in the truth – when did that happen? Oh yeah, once their beloved Obama was no longer in the Oval Office.

  15. kenoshamarge Says:

    And then there’s this:
