I thought I would make my opinion of the topic clear in the title of this post. I also thought I would use a lot of 3 letter designations. LOL – oops there’s another one.

SJW definition:

Social Justice Warrior. A pejorative term for an individual who repeatedly and vehemently engages in arguments on social justice on the Internet, often in a shallow or not well-thought-out way, for the purpose of raising their own personal reputation. A social justice warrior, or SJW, does not necessarily strongly believe all that they say, or even care about the groups they are fighting on behalf of.

They typically repeat points from whoever is the most popular blogger or commenter of the moment, hoping that they will “get SJ points” and become popular in return. They are very sure to adopt stances that are “correct” in their social circle.

The SJW’s favorite activity of all is to dogpile. Their favorite websites to frequent are Livejournal and Tumblr. They do not have relevant favorite real-world places, because SJWs are primarily civil rights activists only online.

A few months ago I didn’t even know what Social Justice Warriors meant. And the SJW letters were just one more trio of letters of the alphabet that was meaningless to me.

So many movements – so little time. Noting that the media was giving these people attention put them on my radar. In my experience if the media is pushing a group or movement it is not something I will like. That instinct was right.

 

So what is this whole SJW all about? I like to know things and so I set out to find out. I tried to be fair. I did try,  but the more I learned the less possible it was for me to ever regard these people in a positive way.  In fact it was nearly impossible for me to regard them without revulsion.

The Totalitarian Doctrine of ‘Social Justice Warriors’

The modern social justice movement, or the new “political correctness,” vaulted into the spotlight last year.  Student protests swept across campuses with demands often focused on purging thoughtcrime—leading to heated debates on whether this movement is a dangerous pseudo-progressive authoritarianism or a long-overdue effort to achieve justice for all.

Daily Dot author, graduate student and political columnist Michael Rosa, hailed this trend and urged liberals to “embrace the term.” Yet the accomplishments he invoked are, as the social justice crowd likes to say, problematic. His Exhibit A, the legalization of same-sex marriage, actually had very little to do with the current social justice movement; it was the result of two decades of very different, pragmatic activism that focused on a clear goal—the legal right to marry—and stressed equality, not gay identity.

And #BlackLivesMatter, also a movement with a specific focus—police violence toward African-Americans—has been arguably hurt, not helped, by PC dogma that suppresses discussion of thorny issues such as black-on-black crime and attacks “insensitive” dissenting speech (Amherst protesters demanded disciplinary action against students who had put up “All Lives Matter” posters).

Mr. Rosa’s other examples of “social justice” in action—the feminist revival, the new visibility of transgender issues and opposition to “Islamophobia”—are squarely in train-wreck territory. Not that there’s anything wrong with the principles: Most Americans support gender equality, believe transgender people should be able to live as they wish and reject anti-Muslim hate. But social justice warriors have turned these causes into malignant self-parody.

Their feminism frets over men sitting with their legs apart on public transit, seeks dissent-free “safe spaces” and cries oppression at concern about obesity’s health risks. Their transgender advocacy demands respect for customized gender identities with personal pronouns that may change on a whim and crucifies a devoutly progressive filmmaker for a “transphobic” joke that presumes that female characters are anatomically female.

Their anti-Islamophobia trashes feminist critics of conservative Islamism and victim-blames journalists murdered for publishing Mohammed cartoons.

One of the things that soon becomes apparent when you do any research about SJW is that they have no interest in other opinions. They have no interest in allowing others to speak. They are authoritarian which has nothing to do with justice.

The election of Trump seems to have brought out the worst in these people. Having been assured by many/most pundits on the left that Hillary would be the next POTUS the fact she is not has caused them to become unhinged.

So what exactly do they want? What exactly is their message?

Common SJW Phrases Translated into English:

1. “Let’s have a Conversation.” The direct translation for this is “your opinion hurts my feelings and you need to change it.”

2. “Educate yourself!” Directly translated, this is “I can’t understand why you don’t agree with the accepted narrative.”

3. You are a Racist!” You’re white. And probably male, cis-gendered, and straight. Remember, all white men are racists, and any accusation of racism is prima facie evidence of guilt.

4. “You’re a Misogynist!” You’re white. And probably male, cis-gendered, and straight. Remember, all white men are sexists, and any accusation of sexism is prima facie evidence of guilt.

There are many more “definitions in the article, which is IMO well worth a read. Warning, the language is sometimes raw.

My favorite of the definitions is number 7…

7. “That’s Triggering!” Directly translated, this statement means roughly: “waaaaaaaah waaah waaaaaaaaaah!” A more nuanced translation would be “this made me cry, and I will throw a temper tantrum unless you make it go away.”

Social justice warriors believe in an extreme left-wing ideology that combines feminism, progressivism, and political correctness into a totalitarian system that attempts to censor speech and promote fringe lifestyles while actively discriminating against men, particularly white men. They are the internet activist arm of Western progressivism that acts as a vigilante group to ensure compliance and homogeny of far left thought.

SJW’s do not view all humans as equal

Using a “privilege” hierarchy, SJW’s calculate the worth of a human being based on perceived injustices or wrongs that group has suffered since the time of ancestral man, using selective and narrow interpretations of history.

SJW’s elevate groups that they believe have received the least amount of “privilege” in the past, and then use internet activism in the form of mobs and community purges to target those who are determined to have greater amounts of privilege.

The idea of privilege is so essential to SJW ideology that a common debate tactic they use is to say “check your privilege,” which roughly translates to, “you must immediately halt or change your speech because your ancestors may or may not have done bad things to women or minority races.”

SJW wear pink pussy hats, dress in vagina costumes and talk about their vaginas frequently. I must confess over the course of my 73 years on earth I’ve never had a conversation about my vagina to anyone other than my gyn-ob physician.

My research, thus far, has indicated to me that SJW are just more liberal, crybaby, people. Victims in search of a crime. Mostly keyboard warriors who are woefully ignorant on nearly every issue.  They are ignorant, filled with hate, fear and completely disinterested in facts or truth. Usually they are people who live by talking points and slogans with little depth or intellect.

That is not to say all SJW people are stupid. Intellect unused is no better than lack of intellect. If you act and talk stupid you are no different from those who are stupid. Actually you’re worse. Stupid people can’t help being stupid. People who act stupid while having a good mind can help themselves but have chosen not to do so.

There is also that lack of integrity. That alone is enough to sour me on SJW.
