The Gary Varvel cartoon above is a perfect example of why I love cartoons. He says in one cartoon what most “pundits” can’t manage to say as well with thousands of words.

I certainly am not a “pundit” but I know I couldn’t have said it 1/2 as well with many thousands of words. He is so often brilliant that even when I don’t agree with his message I tend to “listen” to what he says in case I am missing the point. Sometimes I am. Other times I simply don’t agree.

Dave Granlund, who is a liberal cartoonist and with whom I seldom agree about anything makes a great point with few words in the cartoon below. Thus we do have some common ground. That always amazes me.

Which is why I try, and I stress try, not to condemn all liberals as zombies who are out to eat my brains since it is obvious someone already ate theirs. Dang, that didn’t go as well as I planned.

Glenn McCoy makes a wonderful point in the cartoon below that we often don’t make nearly as well with our ranting and raving. Or at least I don’t. Especially when I go heavy on the raving.

I suspect that a lot of liberals will find the Ben Garrison cartoon below racist. But then they find damn near everything racist so WTH? Ben Garrison is a cartoonist that I find myself in agreement with about 1/2 the time. Even when I don’t agree he usually makes his point well.

A.F. Branco from Legal Insurrection is at his brilliant best in the cartoon below. I am a big Branco fan. He is a big Trump fan so that’s sometimes a problem but he is still brilliant.

The ever clever Michael Ramirez, another favorite of mine, capture Obama’s hypocrisy perfectly in the cartoon below IMO.

Meanwhile Steve Kelly captures the home front in a way that resonates with all too many. His acerbic wit is one reason I like his cartoons so much.

There aren’t very many female cartoonists around, and NO I don’t think it’s because of sexism – but among those who are around Lisa Benson is a rarity, a female cartoonist  coming from the right. I think she’s wonderful!

Henry Payne  is the editorial cartoonist for The Detroit News.  An interesting tidbit on this multi-talented man is that he is also the auto critic for The Detroit News. He is especially good at puncturing hypocrisy.

Here’s a great cartoon complementary on our wonderful elected leaders from Glenn McCoy. McCoy often rates more than one cartoon on a post because of his talent. But many of the others do too. They are such a talented bunch!

The wonderful Gary Varvel again – showing why it is so hard for those that are trying to find something in Trump to support. For those that reluctantly voted for him because the alternative was so terrible. And then he opens his mouth, or tweets some foolishness and makes it all but impossible to support him.

For me no cartoon collection is complete without something from the wonderful Dana Summers. This one is no exception.

I love the dog heading for the tall and the uncut. One of the things about Dana Summers cartoons is that a second and third look is usually necessary to see all that he has to “say”.

It must be Glenn McCoy day in Marge’s head because here’s a 3rd cartoon from him. But it was just to good not to use. Don’t you think?

I think I’ll end this post with A.F. Branco’s cartoon that shows why Trump might want to eliminate press conferences with a media that isn’t interested in information, only in making him look bad. As if he needed help.

They also show, although they can’t seem to see it, that they are showing the world what a biased bunch of jackasses looks like. They should try looking in a mirror because the rest of us, those with brains to think and eyes to see, already see them quite clearly.

And finally, here’s how I see the day…

Cruz and Paul: Don’t let this Senate employee destroy health care

Until now, the GOP strategy on health care has been half-baked repeal, half-baked replace, and relying on whatever the Senate parliamentarian allows them to get across the finish line.

Thus, whatever the final product – whether it’s government-run or free-market health care, whether it heals the market or exacerbates the problems – doesn’t matter to them. The future of one-sixth of our economy is just about passing “something” and whatever the parliamentarian does with it. To quote Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., this issue is being treated like a kidney stone, which just needs to be passed – no questions asked.

No wonder the polling of this bill is now in the toilet.

It’s time to either completely change strategy, policy, and messaging on this issue or abandon it altogether. To that end, Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have at least honed in on the first solution: fixing the process excuse.

A permanently broken economy, ruined health care, and electoral slaughter all because of the parliamentarian?

I had no idea that a “parliamentarian” had such power. Did anyone else know about this?

Morning Joe: All smears and gossip, no news

These allegations are the cable news equivalent of grade-school gossip — malicious gossip. The only reason for Conway’s alleged feelings about the president to be discussed on “Morning Joe” is to both harm Conway’s reputation and disparage the president of the United States.

But that’s how “Morning Joe” operates. Call it a rumor mill. Call it #FakeNews. Scarborough and Brzezinski have repeatedly demonstrated that when it comes to the Trump administration, they are perfectly happy to blurt out whatever fanciful notion pops into their heads at any given moment and report it as fact.

“Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump,” Scarborough said last August. “And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can’t we use them,” Scarborough claimed without naming his source. The Trump campaign flatly denied the report. It was never confirmed.

In March, Scarborough invented a conspiracy theory about how the president leaked his own tax returns to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow – to cover for how that story imploded in glorious fashion.

There was a time when I thought Joe Scarborough was smarter than Mika. No more. This time the silly Joe did what any even half way competent lawyers knows is a no-no. He asked a question without know how Professor Turley would respond. Silly Joe looks very silly. Is that egg on his face?

Excellent post, Marge – thank you for this!

Btw, the “Leaks” cartoon was in our daily paper today.

I love Jonathan Turley. I may not always agree with him, but he is smart, good tempered, eloquent, and doesn’t let others bully him into saying what they want him to say.

    Great post!

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I like Turley too. I think he tries to be honest. He may lean a little left but I don’t think he would compromise his principles for anyone.

I am especially happy with him for showing up Joe Scarborough.

  4. kenoshamarge Says:

I really liked this “Dilbert” too.

This commentary by a George Mason University Professor on the depths to which universities are sinking is telling. As is his call for their budgets to be cut by lawmakers: http://www.dailywire.com/news/16570/williams-sheer-lunacy-campus-walter-e-williams

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Unless and until ALL places of education, from K to college serve all the people and not just the liberal liars population there should be NO taxpayer dollars wasted on them.

I suspect this professor will pay a price for having the courage to speak up.
