If you’ve been paying any attention to the alarmists since Trump pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Accords you may believe the end of the world is nigh. Sad Farewell animated emoticonoverheated world.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth, the crying of “wolf” now falls on deaf ears much of the time. It’s old, it’s tiresome and it’s become boring except for the fevered few.

Dem voters may express some outrage and then get in their SUV s and drive off to work. Those that don’t have an SUV or a job will be more interested in how they are going to put food on the table and a roof over their head.

Even the promise of a job is more welcome than more cries that the end is near. Once you bore people they tend to tune you out. Once you threaten their livelihood you are as welcome as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in coal country.

Liberals are losing their minds over Trump’s climate decision

Anti-Trump Republicans have decided to embrace the Left’s climate agenda because Trump is opposing it.

“Trump’s pullout from the international accord would be a political act — one that signals solidarity with his climate-change denial, right-wing base that revels in scientific illiteracy,” the Washington Post’s faux conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin declared. “Being a climate-change denier — which entails dogmatic opposition to the Paris agreement — is a dog whistle to the far right.”

Of course, not so long ago, Rubin was attacking the climate deal.

For many who claim to be conservative it’s a matter of who and what you hate most – the left or Trump. Easy to see which way Rubin leans. I never thought she was very “conservative” anyway.

David Harsanyi at the Federalist thinks the left has all ready lost the Climate Change argument.

Democrats Have Lost On Climate Change, And It’s Their Own Fault

When it comes to perfunctorily treating global warming as an evil, Democrats have won. The importance of “greening” everything has saturated society. Everyone gets it. When it comes to policy that supposedly mitigates climate change, though, they lose. Mostly, because they’ve hijacked “science” in pursuit of ideologically driven economic policies.

I add my own opinion, which is the “we’re all gonna die” rhetoric has caused many people, including some Democrats to tune out.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says American leadership requires latching on to a global treaty that would cost as much as $750 billion and six million American jobs without the consent of Congress.

Isn’t there some kind of shelf life for POTUS also-rans ? You ran, you lost, now go away.  Hillary, just go away. Mitt Romney, just go away.

While I have  grave doubts about some who claim to be a conservative I have none at all about Ben Shapiro.

EXCELLENT TRUMP: 5 Reasons Trump Is Right To Pull Out Of The Paris Accord

Last Thursday, President Trump made the first major move of his administration since the appointment of Judge Gorsuch to the Supreme Court: he withdrew from the Paris Accord, a non-treaty entered into by President Obama that committed the United States to serious economic deprivation in order to accomplish nearly nothing in terms of climate change.

It’s true that Trump laid all that out in a well-written, fact-laden speech. The Left predictably went nuts — they’ve been lighting up buildings green (wasting energy) and quitting his economic council (who cares) and tweeting incessantly about the end of the world all day.

Good for Trump. The Paris Accord was a meaningless sham, designed mainly to shame the United States into harming its own economy for the vicarious pleasure of others. ~ Ben Shapiro

I like Ben Shapiro’s idea of being #SometimesTrump. Support him when he’s right and castigate him when not. Personally that’s they way we should regard all elected officials IMO. When did this mindless, adolescent fawning over politicians become the norm?

Liberals talking about common sense are about as reliable as an email from a Liberian Prince who wants my help managing his money.   free laughing emoticon

California’s Governor “Moonbeam” jumped to the front of the hysteria crowd with this gem:

Jerry Brown: ‘People Will Die!’ Thanks To Trump Paris Accord Withdrawal

On Thursday night, the entire left side of the aisle melted down over President Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord. Although there was tough competition, California Governor Jerry Brown earned a spot among the most extreme public reactions to the news: “People will die!” he screeched.

Meanwhile to make the foolishness international…

French President Macron Offers Liberal Americans Sanctuary In France

French President Emmanuel Macron, who is also a climate change alarmist, is offering refuge to American liberals upset at President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

Not surprisingly, some on the left are all in favor of this.

People with common sense that take time and effort to read and learn about climate change know that there is has always been some change in the climate. Has mankind had some impact on that? Probably. Will we all die if we don’t sign the non-binding, doesn’t do anything Paris Accords? Of course not.

One thing you can count on is once something becomes politicized, once the left and right have taken opposing sides, any chance of a rational discussion is gone.

Politics and science don’t work well together. Once science gets into bed with a political party their integrity is lost.

If you want to learn more about Climate Change, and not from Jerry Brown or some Hollywood nincompoop or some country looking to pick America’s pocket there is  a book from the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), titled:

Why Scientists Disagree about Global Warming

Whereas the reports of the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warn of a dangerous human effect on climate, NIPCC concludes the human effect is likely to be small relative to natural variability, and whatever small warming is likely to occur will produce benefits as well as costs. NIPCC is sponsored by three nonprofit organizations: the Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change, the Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP), and The Heartland Institute.

Relying on scientists who have jumped into bed with the Democrat Party and who use government to fund their studies seems a tad naive to me.  Once they’ve shown themselves to be flaming liberals and have begun to use the hyperbolic language of the left I stop listening.

That’s my short version of my take on “climate change” at the present time. It was formed from facts presented, not hysteria and hyperbolic nonsense. Facts may, in time,  cause me to change my mind. That’s the reasonable and rational thing IMO.

Excellent post, Marge. It is astonishing to see the hue and cry abt us getting out of an Accord that was not binding yet which had us shelling out ALL of the money the Accord required. Meanwhile, we are already doing everything we need to be doing, and have made great strides in protecting the environment while the Paris Accords lets everyone else off the hook, as you noted.

And speaking of Scientists, there is some news abt a major glacier in Antarctica not melting as quickly as the models had predicted. Trying to find this article I read the other day doing a search on Bing was fruitless though – they just put up ones from 2 yrs ago that claimed it was melting fast. Telling, that.

Anyway, here is the link: http://www.dailywire.com/news/17160/uh-oh-ice-loss-thwaites-glacier-slower-expected-aaron-bandler

From what I’ve been able to discover the Paris Accords put all the burden on the USA plus we would be expected to pay for the privilege.

Seems like Trump did good for us by pulling us out.

Dennis Prager: A Response to My Conservative Critics About Trump

Strangely enough I found myself agreeing more with Prager than Jonah. Even Ben Shapiro managed to get in a swipe at Prager and I seldom disagree with Ben.

But I think what both Ben and Jonah missed are the silly #NeverTrump people that still brag about being #NeverTrump.
The ones who’s hate for Trump is an obsession.

Sensible people don’t belong to that group, people like Ben and Jonah but to pretend they don’t exist is not honest. If the shoe doesn’t fit…

FYI the word is that “Socialist” Bernie, the champion of the poor and down trodden is getting nearly a million dollar advance for his new book about evil rich people. No news about which of his 3 houses he’ll be writing it from.

Isn’t that just incredible? Another raging hypocrite who is beloved by the Left. Ugh.

Then again, I guess he has to do something to pay his wife’s legal bills since she drove that college into the ground. Fighting those fraud charges won’t be cheap, after all!

The fact that their predictions don’t come true doesn’t bother the “warmers” one little bit. They simply repeat them and claim 97% of scientists agree with them.

And none acknowledge that science is seldom if ever “settled”. Too much changes and too many knew things are discovered. But that doesn’t seem to bother them either.

No, that their prophecies remain unfulfilled doesn’t matter one whit. Yet people continue to believe the very same people who snowed (!) them before. Go figure!

    Great cartoons, Marge!

I just read the following article abt NFL Quarterback, Michael Vick. As many of you know, he went to prison for a dog fighting ring using pit bulls he had on his property. Many of the dogs were adopted into good homes, thank heavens. But what he did was simply deplorable and heartbreaking for those dogs who suffered so.

Rightly, Vick got prison time. It impacted him a great deal, which is as it should be. Here is what Vick had to say abt his prison experience: http://www.faithwire.com/2017/06/06/nfl-star-michael-vick-says-being-imprisoned-offered-a-powerful-lesson-showed-him-god-was-real/

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I hope he has found God. And God will of course forgive him. It isn’t my place to forgive him but I cannot forget what he did. I just keep thinking of those poor animals and I cannot forget.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I know exactly you mean, Marge – exactly. Glad he has found God, and yes, God no doubt will forgive him his sins (like the rest of us), but it is hard to get the pictures of those poor dogs out of my head…

This just absolutely BURNS me up. These are high school BOYS running against GIRLS in State Championships. Wanna guess who wins? The boys, of course, because these are dashes. Boys have more fast twitch muscles than girls do which is why they are faster. Girls/women don’t end up in comparable times until you get to ultra-marathons when slow twitch muscles are a benefit. The boy who won had a time that didn’t even beat the LAST boy’s time yet landed HIM a medal and not the girl is beyond insulting. How long are girls and women going to allow to be placed as second class citizens by the trans lobby and liberals? This is infuriating: http://www.dailywire.com/news/17216/boy-believes-hes-girl-defeats-girls-connecticut-hank-berrien
