πŸ’€ GOP Wake Up Call πŸ’€

The Republican Party promised that if they had The House, The Senate and the White House that they would repeal and replace Obamacare. They didn’t promise to tinker with it, make it a little better or deliver Obamacare Lite.

Having been talking about this for 7 years there should not have been a problem. They should have been ready. They even had a repeal bill that they had prepared for Obama.

So WTH ??

Cartoonists are having a field day with this issue and rightly so. The left is able to lampoon the hapless GOP right along with the disappointed Republican voters. That’s not a good look for ya people.

So let’s see what the political cartoonists are saying about this…

I’m not usually a big fan of Jeff Darcy of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, too liberal for me, but he sure nails it with this cartoon.

The cartoon below from the great Lisa Benson is not only spot on, it’s really funny. Terrific cartoon Lisa!

Paul Fell, another who is not a favorite of mine, also nails the GOP as they so richly deserve. WTH people, did you think Republican voters were as easily confused and fooled as Democrat voters?

Steve Kelly being so clever you hardly recognize how deftly he slipped the knife in. He’s so good.

Gary Varvel cartoons are simply superlative. I am a huge fan. There are few and far between cartoons by him that I don’t agree with and love. This is, IMO, great. What else can I say?

DrewΒ  Sheneman, of The Newark Star-Ledger is a liberal but when they’re right, they’re right. Right?

Tom Stiglich is another liberal cartoonist that I don’t usually like. But unlike politicians, who lie for a living, I feel obligated to tell the truth. I love this cartoon.

Here’s that great Lisa Benson being brilliant again. Love this gal!

Walt Handelsman and his astute take on what the GOP is doing to themselves. How marvelous that they don’t even need the left to look stupid. Or maybe not.

Bob Gorrell aptly depicts the way many voters are feeling about the GOP and their broken promises.

I am no Spiderman fan but Joe Heller used him to show how the Republicans, who hold the House, the Senate and the White House, still managed to get themselves caught in their own web of lies.

Ken Catalino sees the Republican’s continued failure as restocking the swamp they promised to drain. I can’t argue with that.

Glenn McCoy is one of my favorites because he gives us cartoons like the one below. No question about how Glenn is viewing the shenanigans of the GOP idiots.

Rick McKee shows his opinion of the GOP spinelessness in a different way that says what we think about them. Although many of us don’t think it’s lack of courage, it’s lack of will and a lack of respect for those that elected them.

Steve Kelly hits them in a vulnerable place – their inability to keep their promises. Some promises they know when they make them cannot be kept. All politicians do that and get away with it mostly. But this one was a big one and repeating “Gorsuch” over and over again isn’t going to make the outrage go away.

Daryl Cagle shows the GOP in all their amazing incompetence. This is what all those that couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Trump, I was one, but voted down ticket to keep him in line got.

Paul Fell of the Artisan’s Syndicate, and no favorite of mine, nails Trump and the GOP as they should be nailed. Keep your promises or just shut the hell up.

Cartoon by Paul Fell - Nine Lives

Another wonderful cartoon from the ever brilliant Michael Ramirez who reminds the GOP that many Trump voters, not the cultists the ones that held their nose and voted for him on this issue, are not happy with their nonsense.

And finally Gary Varvel deals the unkindest cut of all – OUCH!

There are plenty more where these came from. The whole point is that the cartoonists are laughing. Not with the GOP but at the GOP. That’s never a good thing. They may like to skewer Trump, many on both the left and right do that so much it’s become rather boring – especially the hair and the tiny hands nonsense. Get creative for heaven’s sake.

Still, I didn’t write about Russia, and that’s a good thing.

Have a great Thursday and as always, this is an

Reverend Amy posted this in the comments on the previous post. I thought it should be brought forward.

Well, this isn’t good news. My thoughts and prayers go out to Sen. McCain and his family: http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/342849-john-mccain-diagnosed-with-brain-cancer

I was on a cartoon hunt and only saw the post a few minutes ago.

I join her in sending prayers to McCain and his family.

I am no fan of his politically but cancer is no fan of life. It respects no boundaries or party or affiliation. It is a deadly killer that takes your dignity and your hopes before it takes you life. It takes fathers from children, brothers from sisters, children from parents and friends from friends.

That some are commenting vile things about this shows me that some people have forgotten their humanity. Politics is fine and I am a political animal, but humanity is far more important and I hope we never lose sight of that.

Thanks for bringing this forward (we lost our internet and other services for hours, so sorry for being so late!).

It is shocking to see the comments of some liberals abt McCain. You are right. People have lost their humanity, and common decency. Just shocking.

You are right – cancer is not a “fan of life,” and political persuasion has nothing to do with those who get it or not. I certainly hope Sen. McCain can beat this – he has shown himself to be very strong. For his family’ sake, I hope he wins…

I just saw this article at Faithwire – actually, it was a series of photographs of an embryo at 3-4 weeks and more. It is truly moving:

The more we learn about the way life begins the less the excuses for abortion can be tolerated.

  3. Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Excellent post, Marge. You are so right abt the GOP and this whole Obamacare thing. They may well find out they back off at their peril. And if they don’t do the right thing, I hope they find themselves at the Unemployment Office…

Sometimes I wonder if both parties don’t prefer to be in the minority. They can sit on the sidelines and take potshots at the other party without having to do anything themselves.

USA Today Complains About Lack of ‘Women’ and No Lead Actors of Color’ in Movie ‘Dunkirk’

Complaining about the lack of women and minority actors in a movie about Dunkirk is like complaining about the lack of Sinatra music in Straight Outta Compton or wondering why cancer failed to get equal time in Philadelphia or hectoring Hollywood over the omission of realistic sex scenes in the Toy Story trilogy.

And we cannot only blame Truitt, who is probably a victim of public schools. How did his trigger warning, one so feeble-minded it ranks as a non sequitur, make it past the USA Today editors? Are they all half-wits or does someone personally dislike Truitt so much they have stopped protecting him from himself?
