Not Exactly On The Up And Up, And A Real Hero *Open Thread*

I swear, every time I think things can’t get worse coming out of the DOJ, somehow they do.

Take for instance the House subpoenaing DOJ Strzok lovebird, Lisa Page, for a CLOSE door meeting. What?? As Judge Napolitano said on “Fox and Friends First” Wednesday morning, Page should NEVER have been allowed a closed door meeting. She should have to testify in public and answer the people directly for her actions. But no.

Here is Mollie Hemingway with more about Page (h/t Vote):

That interview was chock full of information about the DOJ and some of its machinations.

But Lisa Page did not answer any questions about any of it. Nope. She decided she didn’t need to abide by a Congressional subpoena. From Infowars:

“It appears that Lisa Page has something to hide. She plans to blatantly defy a congressional subpoena by refusing to appear for her deposition. She has known for months that the House Judiciary Committee has sought her testimony as part of our joint investigation with the Oversight Committee into decisions made by the Justice Department in 2016, and she has no excuse for her failure to appear. Lisa Page is a key witness, and it is critical that she come before our committees to answer questions as part of our investigation.

“We will use all tools at our disposal to obtain her testimony. Americans across the country are alarmed at the bias exhibited by top officials at the Justice Department and FBI, and it is imperative Congress conduct vigorous oversight to ensure that never happens again.” (link)

Apparently, these people really do think they are above the law. But not so quick – Speaker  Paul Ryan has threatened Page with a  “Contempt of Congress,” and has made it clear that appearing before them is NOT optional. Hopefully, the House will do the right thing and make her answer us without the shelter of a closed door. She does not deserve a closed door hearing and deny the public this one recourse.

And speaking of corrupt DOJ employees, Page’s honeybun, Peter Strzok, is facing the music today (Thursday). In public. No more closed doors for this treasonous current employee of the FBI. From Fox News:

The report included a new text message between the two, where Strzok vowed to “stop” Donald Trump from becoming president.

The inspector general’s report noted that he was specifically concerned about text messages exchanged between Strzok and Page that “potentially indicated or created the appearance that investigative decisions were impacted by bias or improper considerations.”

The discovery of the anti-Trump messages exchanged with Page ultimately got him booted from Mueller’s team and reassigned to the FBI’s office of human resources. But last month, Strzok was escorted from his FBI office and lost his security clearance.

The inspector general last month confirmed he was investigating whether any anti-Trump bias from Strzok factored into the launch of the FBI’s Russia investigation.  […](Click here to read the rest.)

It sure will be interested to see what comes out of these hearings, and whether or not Strzok will answer the questions put to him. During the course of the day, I encourage you to share pertinent information regarding the hearings in the Comments below.

But it isn’t just with these two that things aren’t on the up and up. There are some very real questions about Rod Rosenstein as this Mollie Hemingway article in The Federalist outlines:

The Department of Justice confirmed that Rosenstein “put them on notice to retain relevant emails and text messages, and he hopes they did so.” The Justice spokesperson said Rosenstein “never threatened anyone in the room with a criminal investigation,” which hadn’t been claimed, but that the “Deputy Attorney General was making the point—after being threatened with contempt—that as an American citizen charged with the offense of contempt of Congress, he would have the right to defend himself, including requesting production of relevant emails and text messages and calling them as witnesses to demonstrate that their allegations are false.”

Yet in sworn testimony before a congressional committee on June 28, Rosenstein denied that he had ever threatened to obtain the internal e-mails and communications of congressional staffers.

When Rosenstein was asked by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) if he had threatened to subpoena congressional aides’ text and phone records, as had been reported, Rosenstein replied “No, sir,” and claimed that media reports about his threats were mistaken. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Sigh. What the hell has happened to our Justice Department?? How in the world are we ever supposed to trust anything that comes from them, especially when some of the worst offenders are still employed there? What a disaster this has turned out to be, isn’t it? Something needs to change, that’s for sure.

Assistant: Palin was joined on the trip by her teenage daughter Piper (pair above on the day of Palin's interview with Cohen)Wednesday brought another story that highlights just how down and dirty some people can be, while they claimto be on the up and up. That would be  “comedian,” Sacha Baron Cohen. He set out to dupe Gov. Sarah Palin, and succeeded. How? Because he pretended to be a disabled American veteran. All this was for his Showtime show. How could this possibly happen? Well, here is more from the Daily Mail:

‘This “legit opportunity” to honor American Vets and contribute to a “legit Showtime historical documentary” was requested of me via a speakers bureau,’ said Palin. has been told by a source that it was the American Programs Bureau that presented this opportunity to Palin, the same group who manages the likes of Larry King, Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs, Sir Richard Branson and Mikhail Gorbachev, to name a few.

‘For my interview, my daughter and I were asked to travel across the country where Cohen (I presume) had heavily disguised himself as a disabled US Veteran, fake wheelchair and all,’ explained Palin.

‘Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long “interview” full of Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm – but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin.’

Oh, but wait – it gets worse:

She went on to state: ‘The disrespect of our US military and middle-class Americans via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse.’

Then, after that, she and Piper were brought to the wrong airport.

‘After refusing to take our calls to help get us out of the bind they’d put us in for three days, I wrote this off as yet another example of the sick nature that is media-slash-entertainment today,’ said Palin of the experience.

‘Here is my challenge, shallow Sacha boy: go ahead – air the footage. Experience tells us it will be heavily edited, not pretty, and intended to humiliate,’ said Palin. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

I hope Showtime does the right thing.

Cohen could learn a thing or many from a real Veteran, like US Army and National Guard, Mike Laureano (h/t Fox News):

Now that is a veteran to celebrate. Blessings on Laureano and Adriana. You can click here to read more of this beautiful story.

That’s it for me. Open Thread Time!

Thanks again Amy for a great post. This one has so much “meat” to dig into that I don’t know where to start.

Although the disgusting “comedian” Sacha Cohen springs immediately to mind. What’s funny about this? He lied, he misrepresented himself and what he was doing to Palin and her daughter and all around was a total POS! I guess I’ve gotten too old because I remember when comedians were funny.

The lovebirds had the FBI need to answer any and all questions put to them under oath. Paul Ryan needs to show some spine and not let Page get away with anything. She’s a disgrace to decent human beings everywhere as his her partner in adultery.

And last but far from least is Mollie Hemingway – she is so smart and so good and knows what she’s talking about. Imagine going on the air with those things working for ya. Many others might try that. I respect the dickens out of this woman who does her investigating and knows her stuff. Wish it would start a trend.

Thank you so much, Marge – I appreciate it!

And Cohen – what a piece of work he is, huh? Like you, I remember when comedians were actually funny. What a concept. What he did to Palin and her daughter was terrible as well as the besmirching of our veterans, especially the disabled ones. Grrrr.

I am SO glad your Ryan told Page she dang well better come testify before Congress. Everything she did, she did as an employee of the PEOPLE.

Isn’t Hemingway just the best?? What a smart, smart, eloquent woman she is. And she is almost always spot on in her assessments.

CNN is contacting Jim Jordan’s former staff and interns for dirt on him

    Rep. Jim Jordan
    ✔ @Jim_Jordan

Now @CNN is contacting all 100+ of our former staff and interns asking for dirt on me. Getting desperate! How can you ever trust such #fakenews?

Former OSU wrestlers have also come forward to “refute false claims” against Jordan, according to the #StandWithJimJordan campaign.

One of the original accusers, Michael DiSabato, has a long history of litigation and seemingly a personal grudge against Jordan’s family.

While the accusations should be taken seriously, it’s interesting to note that CNN is diligently digging for dirt to bring down Jordan, while the network has not reported on the shady nature of some of his accusers.

IMO, something isn’t exactly on the up and up with this either. Where are the reporters digging into the past of the FBI lovebirds? Or those their friends, family or associates?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

You ain’t only kidding, Marge (and sorry for the lateness of the response – I was gone all day yesterday and didn’t get home until 10:00 last night – I’m too old for all of this! 🙂 ). It is astonishing to see how these “reporters” work. Just like they did to Gov. Palin back in 2008, descending upon Wasilla while ignoring all of Obama’s shenanigans in Chicago.

BREAKING: Goodlatte Says FBI’s Peter Strzok Will Be Held in Contempt

The move comes after Strzok refused to answer a question from Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy.

Townhall: This is a developing story, stay tuned for updates.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

YES! As well he should be!

Thanks for the update – I am out and about with my niece and her three kids visiting from Charlotte.

Am I right in believing that you can plead the 5th so as not to get your sorry butt in trouble, pardon my version, but you cannot just refuse to answer?

I do watch “Bull” every week but I don’t feel that makes me an expert on the law. 😉

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

LOL, me too about “Bull,” and I worked as a paralegal for awhile, but not an expert. I think that is the correct interpretation though.

I’ve been watching some of the hearings and thus far the Dems are turning it into a 3-Ring Circus of obstructionism.

Which make me wonder, what is it they’re afraid Strzok might say?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

      Uh, yes, what indeed?

They seem to do this every time – obstruct like crazy rather than try to get to the bottom of a situation.

CONTEMPT? Fireworks Erupt At House Hearing After FBI Agent Peter Strzok Refuses To Answer Questions

Democrats presiding over a hearing in which disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok testified on Thursday morning had no intention of allowing the witness to answer questions. Instead, they ran interference for him, interrupting Republicans repeatedly with points of order and parliamentary procedure.

At one point early in the hearing, the ranking Democrat Rep. Jerrold Nadler moved that the entire hearing be adjourned.

After Strzok said he didn’t “appreciate” how Gowdy painted some of his actions, Gowdy shot back: “I don’t give a damn what you appreciate, Agent Strzok.”

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

      Go get ’em, Gowdy!!!

And that kind of behavior is precisely why I am no longer a Democrat. That kind of disruptive behavior seems about all they are good for these days.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

The Dem antics may play well with the screwballs in their base but I suspect the rest of America is not pleased. There is a need to know what this disgusting man did as a FBI agent. All the Dems got into the act but Nadler was particularly repulsive.

I would dearly love to wipe that smug look off Strzok’s unprepossessing face! With a cast iron skillet!

I kid! I kid! My arthritis is much too bad for me to swing a cast iron skillet with enough force to wipe anything off his face. I will now make myself go sit in a corner. (Taking a bag of cookies, a book and a cup of coffee. 😉 )

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

LOL – hey, I have a smaller cast iron one you might be able to wield! 🙂

I just saw that Rep. Cohen say that Strzok deserves a Purple Heart – are you KIDDING me??? If anyone wants to see how ideologically driven and undemocratic Democrats have become, that hearing is a good place to start.

  8. kenoshamarge Says:

Ben Shapiro: Strzok Says His Texts Didn’t Mean He Was Targeting Trump. Gowdy Destroys Him.

The real question is what Strzok meant by the text. Strzok first said he didn’t mean that he had affected the investigation, then said he didn’t remember sending the text, after explaining he sent it late at night.

None of this is credible. And Strzok continues to do tremendous damage to the FBI.

IMO this is the reason Nadler was playing obstructionist in chief, they, the Dems, all knew that Gowdy would indeed “destroy” Strzok.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

And I am glad he did. Strzok is an embarrassment to the country, and that the Dems rush to defend him, just like they did the vicious murderous MS-13 gang, says so, so much abt them.
