WokeScolds Want Books Next? And Just Say NO *Open Thread*

by

Right off the bat, I have to tell you this personal note first – typing is still hard for me, but I have to share these two articles with you in light of all the insanity rocking our nation.  Between this shoulder thing and one-handed packing for an end-of-month-move, I can’t promise that I can keep this up for now, but yeah – these two just need to be shared.

And they  follow along with KenoshaMarge’s excellent post on Monday about the mob rule that seems to be overtaking not just cities, but corporate support decisions like Amazon, PetSmart, Netflix, and others to support Black Lives Matter financially. Yeah, no – peace out. I don’t support an organization that claims they want to dismantle White Capitalism, have been infiltrated by the Communist Party and are extolling those platforms, like defunding police, and are anti-American. Yep, nope – I’m out. And how idiotic for these corporations to support an organization that  has already said it wants to destroy them. Good God.

Political Cartoons by Lisa BensonAnd if you think they are not a dangerous organization, check out this Daily Mail article about how they are working to develop armies “to defend our communities Black Panther style armed patrols…” Yeah – you read that right. Just what I have been saying – they are not a Civil Rights group – they are the reincarnation of the original Black Panthers/Weather Underground. We underestimate and embrace this organization at our peril.

On THAT note, let’s get to the first article I want to share with you. It’s an opinion piece by Stephen Kruiser of PJMedia:

Well, Ray Bradbury warned us, didn’t he? Or he tried to, anyway.

As this once great land descends even further into this “check your privilege” wokescold madness, the lawless not only want to govern your actions but your thoughts as well. What so many are hailing as a transformative moment in American history is really a dystopian thought-policing nightmare.

A recurring theme in history is that the thought fascists like to tightly control what the people it seeks to oppress read. Propaganda doesn’t work well if the masses can read whatever they want. Social justice warriors have been coming after books for a while now, most often Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which Ernest Hemingway said was the launching point of modern American literature. A censored version of it was released in 2011 and even The New York Times found it problematic.

[…]

Just when you think that there couldn’t be anything more annoying than watching idiots kneel all about the place comes a post on NPR.org titled “Your Bookshelf May Be Part of the Problem.”

NPR =National PUBLIC Radio, and it gets hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars every year along with Public Broadcasting. It’s a big chunk of your change. So bear that in mind as you read this bit of their post linked above:

If you are white, take a moment to examine your bookshelf. What do you see? What books and authors have you allowed to influence your worldview, and how you process the issues of racism and prejudice toward the disenfranchised? Have you considered that, if you identify as white and read only the work of white authors, you are in some ways listening to an extension of your own voice on repeat? While the details and depth of experience may differ, white voices have dominated what has been considered canon for eons. That means non-white readers have had to process stories and historical events through a white author’s lens. The problem goes deeper than that, anyway, considering that even now 76% of publishing professionals — the people you might call the gatekeepers — are white. […]

(Click here to read the rest.)

Political Cartoons by Tom StiglichSigh. Seriously. That was my response to reading the above. Yes, me and my white privilege – I have all kinds of books on my bookshelf (or did before I packed them up and gave a bunch to my niece!). From fiction to non-fiction, gardening books to books about the NY Yankees – I don’t know what that says about me, but I could give a damn what the Wokescolds have to say. Kruiser doesn’t care, either. The rest of his piece is good and if you have the time, give it a read.

Speaking of all those WokeScolds, Kurt Schlichter has some sage advice for all the “normal” people. It’s something Nancy Reagan suggested so many years ago: Just Say No. Well, Schlichter said more than that. Here’s more from his recent column:

For way too long, too many conservatives and other normal people have failed to deploy our most potent weapon in the defense of free thought and expression – the utter refusal to go along with the demands of the carnivorous left. As has been said before by me and others, we need to introduce these spoiled brats to the concept of “no.”

[…]

1. Never apologize. You have nothing to be ashamed of and even if you did, apologizing to these creeps only chums the water for the feeding frenzy. Drew Brees apologized and he looks craven, while the giddy horde is walking around with his head on a stick. If he had said, “Hey, a lot of people were upset about what I think about kneeling. Well, that’s what I think and you are free to say what you think, but no, I’m not apologizing,” they would have moved to a softer target.

2. Reject their demands. Tell them “no.” They will be baffled, since their mommies and daddies – most likely acting through the immigrant nanny who actually raised them – probably never told them “no.” LEGO is allegedly taking sets featuring cops and the White House off the market at the demand of these lunatics. It could have said, “Some people feel they can tell us what toys we can sell and what toys your kids can buy. We say that you get to make that decision. No, we’re going to keep doing what we please.” LEGO blocks would have become the most popular toy in America instead of a symbol of craven submission.

[…]

4. Laugh at them. No, scary Tom Cotton is not putting you SJWs in the most perilous of perils by suggesting we use the Army against domestic rioters. Words are not making you unsafe. You clowns. You babies. You’re a joke. […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Boy, no kidding! Just Say No is taking on new meaning now, and it’s about damn time. We do NOT have to let these children tell us what to do, like the recently pushed out New York Times editor, James Bennet, whose crime was to permit an editorial by a – GASP – Republican US Senator supporting bringing in the troops to quell riots. Yep, the kids got all pissed off, threw a tantrum, and now that editor is gone.

Yea, I ain’t putting up with that childish BS.

How about you?

This is an Open Thread.

A friend had this piece by investigative reporter, Daniel Greenfield, at Facebook. It is more damning evidence against Obama and his support for Iran against Americans:

As I noted in 2018, “Spygate was the warped afterbirth of our failure to meaningfully confront Islamic terrorism. Instead, the political allies of the terrorists and the failed watchmen who allowed them to strike so many times, got together to shoot the messengers warning about the terror threat.”

The Obama administration betrayed America. It sold out the soldiers in the field, and then their commanders, and when it lost power, it went to war against the civilian leadership using the tools that had been traditionally reserved for the terrorists that it had refused to take on and defeat.

Obama didn’t just corrupt our national security system to wage war on his successor administration, he did it to protect the Islamist terrorist enemies of this country: Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Instead of fighting Islamic terrorists, Obama used the national security state to spy on their opponents, beginning with pro-Israel Americans, and concluding with Trump allies in a horrifying act of treason.

Like you I can’t put up with it anymore. They are having BLM protests in our little area too, Malls in Tri-Cities are being protected by citizens with approval of the police department. The first weekend of the protests, people started breaking out windows at the malls in that city. To me that was scary.
Did you see this video by Judge Joe Brown? If it is the truth, then wow. to think I defended GW when Obama was in office. I enclosed the full interview and the shorter version,

Sorry Amy not sure how that one was in my cache–but still a good videos –Looks like my saved video list posted I think saved filed ended up posting, you can delete it if you want

So sorry this post was painful for you, in more ways than one, but I enjoyed reading it. And nodding my head in agreement as I read.

i love Kurt Schlichter’s simple advise. Just. Say. No. Say no to their bullying and their stupidity and their dishonesty.

And say no to the pander. We are Americans. Stop abasing yourselves before a bunch of idiots and liars.

Just. Say. No. and for your own self-respect and integrity, Just. Stop. With. The Abasement.

White guilt? I have none and neither should anyone else unless they’ve done something wrong. Everything else is just hogwash.

    Why We Need The Police

    By Heather MacDonald

“How lovely when we see the police! They are my friends.”

So said an elderly lady attending a police-community meeting in the Bronx several years ago. Her voice is representative of the thousands of senior citizens, middle-aged workers, and small-business owners who fervently support the New York Police Department. These vulnerable New Yorkers want more police presence, not less; they view officers as their only protection against predation. What will the activists seeking to defund the NYPD tell these law-abiding residents — that they are now on their own?

The people who live in high-crime neighborhoods understand more about policing than the anti-cop agitators. Since the early 1990s, when the homicide toll in New York City topped 2,000 per year, tens of thousands of lives have been saved, thanks to the NYPD’s highly responsive, data-driven policing. That policing model, known as Compstat, holds precinct commanders ruthlessly accountable for crime in their jurisdiction; it has driven homicide down 86 percent from 1990, to only 319 in 2019. Most of the lives saved by suppressing crime since then have been black and Hispanic.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

NO KIDDING!!!! What in the Sam Hill do these outrageous, mindless, twits think is going to happen, ESPECIALLY IN HIGH CRIME AREAS??? Seriously, are they insane?? It sure seems like it.

Thanks for the Heather McDonald piece – she is one smart cookie, that one…

  5. kenoshamarge Says:

I love this fantastic Michael Ramirez cartoon. He says things I feel so very well.

    • kinthenorthwest Says:

Keno Wow you have such a huge collection. I will be sharing and using it!
Did you all see this video from the beginning of the Floyd riots in LA.
Back in 85/86 I worked in the WIlshire Fairfax area, would sometimes wander through Farmer’s before going home from work.

Did you see what the DC mayor painted on the streets of DC. Not only did she paint “Black Lives Matter” in huge yellow letters on a street leading to the White House, but painted “Defund the Police” in huge yellow letters leading to the White House!

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

As for that mayor, that;s a helluva use of TAXPAYER DOLLARS to support a COMMUNIST, ANARCHY, ANTI-AMERICAN, ANTI-WHITE CAPITALISM organization.

        • kinthenorthwest Says:

Regardless of who is president, the WH and federal buildings and federal employees should be protected.
What the DC mayor has been and is doing is so very wrong. She even kicked the national guard out of their hotels. Can give you backup for her kicking them out, but apparently she claimed budget issues which I can’t find backup for her reasoning. Then on top of that, the DC mayor said they could not be armed, or wear helmets.

          • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Amen to that, Kin – they MUST be protected!! That woman is just nuts, and clearly hates the USA. What a piece of work.

            • kinthenorthwest Says:

How did we end up here?
If Judge Brown is right and telling the truth, then this probably has been in the making for several decades or more. If Brown is right, the swamp is weirder than I even thought–Oh I knew we had RINOs, but not what I think Brown is indicating,

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

James Woods told all of his fellow Hollywood stars that all they had to do was call the police and tell them they would not be using their services. As some others have suggested, the police should block the phone numbers of all these hypocritical stars with their own security who want police abolished. Then, God forbid they have someone get over their wall, the police wouldn’t take their call.

But that’s the difference between good, hardworking, decent people who serve their community: they would answer no matter what.

I simply do not understand what has happened to people. I just don’t get it.

      • kenoshamarge Says:

And any and all police who are guarding politicians who want to defund the police and send the money to the welfare state should immediaately walk off the job.

And any former LEO folks who guard Hollywood lefties should also think about finding other employment. Is the money you make worth the disgust you should be feeling for your employer?

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

YES!!! YES!!!!! YES!!!!!!! Abso-FREAKING-lutely they should!!!!

Those Hollywood type especially, as well as politicians, who are demanding that we no longer have police should NOT HAVE POLICE. If they are going to perpetrate that kind of insanity on their constituents, especially, they sure as hell should have to pay the SAME price!

  6. kinthenorthwest Says:

WOW Amy–you did it again! Yes this whole mess is so out of control. Hey I even came out of my FB box, but now I am hearing rumors that someone is saying “conflict of interest” where I work! The department I technically work for is educational contractors, & 2% if that much of the whole institutional! staff! You can guess that I stand out like a sore thumb politically in that department, however probably 80% plus of the officers & other workers at the institution are politically conservative.
if it is true then I think that this is the post or rather picture that is at issue!
There comes a point where you just get so mad and that was me when I did my research and made the meme. Some idiot in one of the local groups responded to a picture of other black deaths, “what that that have to do with BLM, we are talking about police killing blacks” I didn’t respond I researched and made this meme.

If the rumors are true, and someone is saying it is a conflict of interest with my job I will not take it down.

FYI-I shared your post “At Least 12 Have Died In Nationwide Protests. Here’s Who They Were.” over at twitter. TY for I didn’t realize there had been so many. I have seen the officers killed, especially black officers..

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Thanks so much, Kin – I appreciate it!

Oh, boy abt the whole “conflict of interest” thing. You would think an educational department would be interested in, well, being educated! Whatevs…

You can add this, which comes from a very good WSJ article Heather MacDonald wrote, only 9 unarmed black people were killed last year by police, and 8 of them were righteous. In that same time period, 19 unarmed white people were killed. One might say that clearly shows a disparity, and it does – towards WHITES. Why do I say that? Because even though blacks make up 13% of our population, they are responsible for over half the murders in this country, and close to that of violent crimes. So yeah, WHITES are the ones who are being targeted, apparently.

When you consider how many blacks there are in the country, NINE PEOPLE does not justify tearing down the entire country. What happened to Floyd was horrible, but the police are NOT hunting down cops.

Meanwhile, police officers are 18.5 times more likely to be killed by black males. Funny how no one wants to mention that stat. Or that several police/federal officers have been killed, and many more – 750 – injured in these riots. NO ONE is talking abt that.

I am so sick of these anarchists, anti-American Communists (that’s BLM), having such free rein in this country, having networks support them, corporations support them, have Oprah have some LAUGHABLE participants (Stacey Abrams – need I say more? And I am pretty sure the NY Times “reporter” who supports the completely false “1619 Project” is part of it, too.) in a TWO DAY DISCUSSION on race, where we go from here, and what their DEMANDS are.

WTH???? One of the richest women in the WORLD is hosting this “discussion” with all these black people who are very successful?? Spare me.

      • kinthenorthwest Says:

As I said it is just rumors, not due back until tomorrow!
Everyday I go into work I pray that I will not see an email about one of our officers ambushed &/or shot on the way home because of their uniform,
Thank you for that information…It is tucked away with the research I did on the officers.
At first I only posted the stats, but then I realized that a face means so much more. When I was researching officers down, I saw how young some were, read about their families and dreams. Read articles that were probably shoved to the back pages of the media very quickly. Some of the information about how was not easy to find, so I know it was back paged. FYI that meme is only the officers murdered by being shot,

        • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Here’s the actual Heather MacDonald piece that has the stats, though you can get most of it at places like RedState, DailyWire, etc.:

          https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-myth-of-systemic-police-racism-11591119883

          • kinthenorthwest Says:

TY–If you want the websites for the officers I will share too…Some I had to dig to find out anything about the Murderer. Sad that his is happening to our officers with barely a peep, and then this Floyd mess.
No one deserves to die the way Floyd did, but he was not a saint, in fact it seems he was still doing and on drugs when he died. To me he is not the person anyone should be idolizing like the are him, much less burning up the nation over.

            • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

              I appreciate that!

And yes, he didn’t deserve to die like that. But he most definitely was not a saint. He shoved into the home of a pregnant woman with his co-thugs, and held a gun to her abdomen the whole time they were trying to rob her. She was a black woman, btw.

Funny how that information, like the info on all of these other criminals, is buried so quickly it makes your head spin.

Why these criminals continue to be elevated is beyond me.

              • kinthenorthwest Says:

That is what creeps me out the most! This video depicts are the types of people we used to look up to and admire!! Their private lives were often not perfect but at least they loved America, at least publicly
I can’t even watch that many shows any more because of of the Hollywood A$$es in them
FYI give your FB posts a bunch of likes from me…I need to see if rumors are true and how it plays out before I do much more on FB politically…

Oh and here is Terrance’s take on it…His is mild compared to some other blacks reprimands of Pelosi! There are quite a few people in the black community that are livid with what Pelosi did

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

I love Candace Owens – she is so spot on. And Terrance is just an absolute hoot. He never fails to crack me up. He is spot on abt the pandering, too. Wow, and how!

  10. kenoshamarge Says:

“The riots are, in a certain sense, a civil war for the soul of the black community. If the rioters succeed, black communities will sink deeper into gangland decay and the welfare state. They will become more integral to the Democrats even as they lose any hope for a better future.

That’s why law and order African-Americans stand with President Trump.” ~ Daniel Greenfield

    • kinthenorthwest Says:

Don’t even think the riots really have to do with Blacks. Do believe they are to divert our attention from other happenings, or my worse fear-to overthrow America.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Oh, no doubt this is not really abt blacks. I don’t trust one damn thing abt all of this.

Btw, my more conspiracy side has to wonder abt jut WHY the Dems made sure that people who lost their jobs due to the Wuhan Flu with EXTRA money that they wouldn’t ordinarily have earned for MONTHS. I mean, really – how else are people affording going on all these marches day after day after day? I mean, besides Soros paying them via Antifa. Ahem.

            TY again

  12. kinthenorthwest Says:

This is how one person feels about Nancy’s pandering

  13. kinthenorthwest Says:

This has to be taken with a grain of salt, but if true this is probably reason behind all the riots, Hey I am still not sure that Floyd’s death is on the up and up, Yes he probably was killed but?? As you know stuff like this is hard to find back up for, I do know that there are several conservative politicians and media people talking about indictments ,

    • kenoshamarge Says:

I believe that cop killed George Floyd. I don’t think he meant to. I think he thought Floyd was just spouting crap like so many other drunks and druggies he had arrested. If he had intended to kill the man he wouldn’t have done it out in the open with so many cameras on him.

But this was an arrogant man who had got away with bullying tactics and should have been removed from the force long ago.

The Leo was arrested and charged very quickly. So what more justice was needed? Enough rampaging and the other LEOs were charged too. That’s not justice – that’s mob rule. Should they have been charged with something too? I think so. But not because the mob says so.

Trump Is a Threat to the Constitution? Really, General Mattis?

    By David P. Goldman

The accusation that President Trump in some way threatens the Constitution is the most disgusting expression of hypocrisy that I have heard in nearly half a century of journalism–no exceptions. It is so monstrously false that it is shocking to hear it from the likes of Gen. James Mattis and Gen. Colin Powell.

A conspiracy to drive Donald Trump from office through lies, leaks and larceny began before he took office and continues to the present day. Alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia was an outrageous hoax. The spurious charges against Gen. Mike Flynn have been exposed as a concoction of FBI officials working for the Hillary Clinton camp. The entire disgusting business has been a lie of whole cloth from the outset. And it constitutes the most grievous threat to the US Constitution in our lifetimes–in fact, since the Confederate insurrection of 1861. A clique of bureaucrats and politicians conspired with the major media to frame the president of the United States, with the objective of nullifying the will of the American people as expressed in the free and fair of election of November 2016.

And now Gen. James Mattis and Gen. Colin Powell have the effrontery to call President Trump a threat to the Constitution. Said Mattis: “When I joined the military, some 50 years ago, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Never did I dream that troops taking that same oath would be ordered under any circumstance to violate the constitutional rights of their fellow citizens.”

Violate constitutional rights? How? George H. W. Bush sent 4,000 soldiers and marines into Los Angeles in 1992 to suppress riots that ensued on the acquittal of police officers in the Rodney King case. The elder President Bush used the same authority–the 1807 Insurrection Act–that President Trump cited. No-one ever accused Bush of violating the Constitution for deploying troops. How did President Trump violate the Constitution by warning that he would deploy troops if state and local governments failed to protect life and property?

Why the New York Times Capitulated

    By John R. Lott

I don’t know about Cotton’s case, but my own piece was definitely not rushed. The fact-checking and editing lasted three months, with dozens of emails back and forth. One Times employee wrote me: “Sorry they made you jump through fiery hoops…”

But the paper still wasn’t done with Cotton’s piece. On June 5, the Times added a 317-word preface that explained why the editorial staff thought Cotton to be wrong. In particular, they attacked the Arkansas senator for claiming that “cadres of left-wing radicals like Antifa [were] infiltrating protest marches.” But they ignored plenty of evidence. The day before their addition, Attorney General William Barr asserted that “the federal government has evidence that the radical left-wing antifa movement as well as other extremist groups have ‘hijacked’ legitimate protests.”

In my case, the orchestrated outrage by gun control organizations probably had its desired effect. It will be a long time, if ever, before the New York Times publishes another of my opinion pieces. Instead of simply objecting to certain arguments, staff and readers demand that people such as Tom Cotton and myself not be heard.
