🌀 Chaos 🌀 Open Thread

Every morning when I turn my computer on I wonder if the chaos I turned off the night before will be the same. Will some order, some sanity have appeared overnight? Will  it, God forbid, be worse?

Remember that old Chinese curse – “May you live in interesting times?” I feel as if this country has passed interesting and entered chaos. Or to put it how I feel – we’ve become crazytown bananapants.

I can understand when people don’t agree about politics. We all know that “we” are right and they are “wrong” but we can at least, sometimes, understand where they’re coming from. Or not. Still we managed to coexist. (Except that time when we had a civil war and killed each other. A lot. )

However the world we now inhabit not only doesn’t play by the rules, it seems to have none.

Women marching in the streets with silly pink “pussy” hats on their heads or even sillier appearing in public dressed as vaginas to protest -what?  What is it they are protesting? That the woman they wanted to be president isn’t? That a crude, rude, man who offends someone every time he opens his mouth is the president? Get over it girls, we don’t always get what we want.

If you want to protest something, if you want to show your concern for something that’s fine with me. Lord knows there are plenty of things with which to be concerned.

A lunatic with nuclear arms is one. Religious fanatics in Iran who want them and liberals who seem fine with that.

I don’t think the solution to anything is to march with a pussy cap on your head or dress up as a vagina and go out in public where all the world can see you for a fool. Get a grip girls and grow the hell up!

Then you have the people who seem to believe, along with Bernie Sanders, that we can all just become Socialists and all will be unicorns and rainbows. In spite of all the evidence that Socialism has never worked anywhere.

Berniebots refuse to see the reality of Venezuela and think Socialism is Sweden where everything you want is free. Yup unicorn and rainbow thinking even after 8 years of Obama. Amazing isn’t it?

Most of the foolishness could be cured with some information and investigation by those who would espouse such nonsense. Do they take the time to research a philosophy before embracing it? Most of them cannot coherently describe the reality of what they have embraced. The thinking stopped right after the promise of free stuff.

It’s no wonder a recent poll showed that millennials think you become an adult at 30. A refusal to grow up is nothing new. A whole generation doing it, is.

Children are lovely. Childishness by adults is not. You cannot run a country without adults.

You also cannot run a country on stupid. The image above says it far better than I can.

I haven’t even mentioned the men who “feel” like women or the women who “feel” like men and so they must be allowed to use whichever bathroom or shower that suits their “feelings” on any given day.

I know I grow tiresome in my insistence that a woman with a penis is NOT a woman. It isn’t bias –  its biology. It’s reality for people with brains.

“Feeling” like you’re African American doesn’t make it so either. It makes you, and those that think like you look absurd. The things history will say about such people will not be kind. Maybe they’ll just chalk it up to  “mass hysteria.”

On second thought mass hysteria definition more closely describes all the twits in the pink pussy caps who think they are persecuted.

In sociology and psychology, mass hysteria (also known as collective hysteria, group hysteria, or collective obsessional behavior) is a phenomenon that transmits collective illusions of threats, whether real or imaginary, through a population in society as a result of rumors and fear (memory acknowledgment).

Then we come to the whole health care debacle. The Democrats, when they were in power inflicted us with Obamacare or the Affordable Health Care Act that wasn’t at all affordable. The Republicans, in spite of a promise uttered many, many times to repeal and replace Obamacare decided that they would “fix” it.

By the time the bill was pulled last Friday the GOP looked foolish, disorganized and were forming their usual circular firing squad.

If only the GOP would, just once, be as tough with the Democrats as they are with those in their own party that refuse to march in lockstep with a leadership that appears clueless.

Trumpcare may not be dead yet but it is on life support. It’s been shelved because Donaald seems to be bored with it. It isn’t going to go away Mr. Trump.

You can understand why Trump and the “leadership”  having  embarrassed themselves twice in one week with this sad sack of a bill want to move on. It managed to garner only 17% approval which is even worse than Obamacare. The media and the Democrat smell blood in the water and moving forward with any conservative agenda just became more difficult.

The chaos, the insanity, the incoherence and ignorance seem destined to continue. I don’t see enough people with the ability to think and act like adults to change that.

The media that should be informing the public – with facts, not rumors and innuendo, is one of the major problems. They might not be as guilty of “fake news” as Trump tweets but they are, and have been guilty of bias for decades. Maybe longer.

There are so many more issues I could address but I’m depressing myself. I used to be an optimist but somewhere along the way that optimism has been battered to death. If not dead it is certainly deteriorating.

Yet with all the problems there are always good stories and good news and good people. There are friends and family to love and appreciate. So maybe my optimism is in better shape than I thought.
