๐Ÿ‘ƒ Friday Right Under Our Nose Open Thread

by

I think we’re all aware that our government and the people we elect have no respect for us. They use us when election time rolls around, make promises they have no intention of keeping and once elected ignore us and our wishes until the next election.

They take the tax dollars from those that work and give them to those that do not. They don’t enforce the very laws that they made. And they lie. They endlessly lie.

For most of the history of our country those in our government who were corrupt at least tried to hide their corruption. They feared the wrath of the electorate. That is no longer true. They have indoctrinated and bribed enough of the population that they feel secure enough to thumb their noses at us. They’ve reached a point where they have us so much under their control that they don’t feel the need to hide what they’ve done or are still doing.

The media the founding fathers worked to protect so that they could protect us now hides the corruption of those whose agenda matches their own. A free country without an unbiased and honest press is difficult at best and impossible at worst.

We sat quietly when they corrupted the education system and used our children as pawns. Pawns that now are more willing to believe their lies than our truths. They were not educated as much as propagandized. The corrupt stole a generation, at the very least, of informed citizens from the population.

The PTB now have, for the most part, a dumbed down population where nearly 50% receive government largess that will ensure them a place at the bottom but one that is funded by the government. Evidently these parasites would prefer a small handout and no effort to working to make their lives better. Perhaps much better. There is always the fact that being at the bottom in the USA beats the snot out of being at the bottom elsewhere.

Have you an example of this kind of behavior? Tell us about it. This open thread is all about not only what they do right under our nose but how they seem to gloat about rubbing our nose in their perfidy.

Theย truth needs to be told. The dumbed down need to be educated. Those we elect won’t do it. The media won’t do it.

If we don’t spread the truth, who will? Open Thread – have at it.

this is a pretty good article. we are not prepared to deal with disaster, and could learn from Israel

I think it’s a good article and it made me think. Perhaps some of the problems we have as a super power are because we tackle, or we used to, every issue from a position of strength. Israel hasn’t had all that power so they have had to be smarter than their adversaries to win. Thank goodness we haven’t had to be smarter or we would have lost oftener than we did.

We have to realize that as we old folks pass on there is a generation that has never seen America “win” a war.

I know we supposedly “won” in Iraq but that’s up to debate and Afghanistan has never been more than a tie IMO.

We threw away wonderful, brave young people and then lost what they gained for us. Then when they come home damaged from the horror they’ve seen we don’t even take care of them.

      It is all disgusting.

I think that one Alinsky quote sums up where we are as a people today. We are as divided, if not more so, than the country was at the time of the Civil War. At the very least, 620,000 Americans died in that war and most historians believe that number is grossly underrepresented.

The shooting war has all ready begun IMO. Ask the police if they don’t think so.

โ€œOne acts decisively only in the conviction that all of the angels are on one side and the devils are on the other.โ€

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

This is an excellent article, and it is clearly playing out today. What frustrates the bejeezus out of me are all those non-Alinskyites who have allowed this to happen. You know, the ones who have stayed silent in the face of all of this. Like the men-in-women’s-locker-rooms-and-bathrooms people. Where the HELL are the parents of girls and women who have remained SILENT as the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT tells them it is going to put their children at risk using the guise of a few, bullied transgender people?? WHERE?? They have allowed it.

Republicans have allowed it. Everyone who has shut up when the PC police try to shame them, or allowed their kids to go to schools that make up pronouns, and on and on and on I could go with examples of how we have abdicated this nation to these Socialists and Alinskyites. It is beyond disturbing.

I totally agree with your comment. Where was the real outcry and back lash when all of this was being proposed then implemented. Sticking our collective heads in the sands with hands over ears doesn’t solve any issue.

Marge, great post. Thanks for this. The “Corruption” aspect is something heavy on my mind as I am reading the “Corruption in Conflict” report by the Special Inspector General on Afghanistan Reconstruction” my sister in law sent. To see the level of corruption, the systemic, pervasive levels in Afghanistan largely at OUR expense, is beyond frustrating.

This corruption represents BILLIONS of dollars that have been wasted. BILLIONS. That is OUR money. Part of it is the culture in which all of this is taking place, but still, it is so entrenched that it is hard to see a way out. The creators of the report do have suggestions, both Legislative and Executive, but whether any of those will be followed is anyone’s guess.

That said, I do recommend reading it. It is well written, comprehensive, and informative. Here’s a link to the online interactive report: https://www.sigar.mil/interactive-reports/corruption-in-conflict/index.html

A Harley Biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl
leaning into the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her
jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her
screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits
the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain
the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings the girl to her
terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole
    event.

The reporter addressing the Harley rider says, ‘Sir, this was the most gallant
and bravest thing I’ve seen a man do in my whole life.’

The Harley rider replies, ‘Why, it was nothing, really. The lion was behind bars.
I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.’

The reporter says, ‘Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a
journalist, you know, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front
page. So, what do you do for a living, and what political affiliation do you have?’

The biker replies “I’m a U.S. Marine, a Republican and Iโ€™m voting forTrump”.

    The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings
news of his actions, and reads, on the front page:

U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT & STEALS HIS LUNCH

And THAT pretty much sums up the media’s approach to the news these days!

Perfect example of the MSM. They are outraged and head for the fainting couch at the crude and lewd language of Donald Trump. Meanwhile Jay-Z and other crude, lewd, misogynist rappers run tame at the White House and around the first daughters. Hypocrites and liars all.

Chelsea Clinton stepped out of college and her parents landed her a job paying $900.000.00 per year. Now her mother goes around the country speaking out against “white privilege.”

  10. cindyindie Says:

Good post, Marge! Speaking of what’s happened to education, as a former public school teacher I was APPALLED to read about the teachers in Seattle who are wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts!!
As for the Al Smith dinner, if anyone watched…..So let me see now, when “he goes low, she goes high”?? Really?? Or is it, “when she gets high, she goes low” That’s more like it, LOL.
I cannot believe the absolute filthy corruption of the Democratic Party…Until 10 years ago, I always expected it from the Repubs, but not Dems….This is beyond description how sinister and vile they are…God save us! Seriously, I am praying my butt off for our country!
    Have a great weekend.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

So nice to “see” you Cindy. You are the kind of a teacher this country needs and of there are far too few.

I would expect that there are many who are disgusted with the behavior of their co-workers but are afraid to say anything. I know a teacher here in Kenosha who is retiring because she says the PC culture has made it impossible to do her job. She says she’s going to “home school” her grandchildren so that they don’t graduate as ignorant fools. Her main complaint is about History and Civics.

The teachers here in Wisconsin were mostly for Governor Walker making it impossible for their union dues to be taken directly from their paychecks. Most were afraid to say it publicly. A sad day in America when people are afraid to speak their minds.

      • cindyindie Says:

Oh thank you for the kind words, Marge!
I understand that teacher retiring and wanting her grandchildren home-schooled.
It is a sad day in Education and America…I never joined a teacher’s union when I was a young teacher..never…And we weren’t forced to do so, thankfully. Hubby and I were so poor, as I was putting him through law school, that I couldn’t see giving one cent of my hard-earned paycheck to a stupid union!
I thought it was ridiculous for teachers to have unions. We were there to teach, not “organize’ and whine and politicize our jobs! I thought the children should come FIRST!
Those days are just a faint memory….Sad, indeed.

        • kenoshamarge Says:

That’s because when you began to teach it was a vocation. Now I fear, for many if not most, it’s just a job.

The public school system, which was once so great, has lost so much by the unionization of what was a proud and respected profession. Sadly much of that respect has diminished because of the unions and the sight of teachers on the picket lines screaming about it all being for the children. You don’t need a great education to see through that nonsense.

Yes the children have lost so much. But so have those that once helped to make each succeeding generation better and smarter and ready to face the world. Now they educate “snowflakes.” Ugh.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Cuz! So good to *see* you! And you are so right. It is just stunning to see BOTH parties for who they are. Just SMH – I cannot believe where we are. Like you, I am praying for our country, too.

As for being a teacher, absolutely it was a vocation. Times have changed so much in that regard, and so not for the better. There are still good teachers out there, of course. But schools, districts, and states are being held hostage by the Feds to do things their way, including a curriculum that wasn’t even designed by educators. It is MIND BOGGLING…

Thanks so much for this, Marge. I was just coming to post a story I cannot BELIEVE is not from The Onion, and is is precisely abt this topic.

Honestly, I cannot believe the number of Republicans who would not accept the election if Trump doesn’t win. Seriously?? Have people already forgotten the absolute bullshit claims he has made about things like this before during the campaign?? For this sexual predator bully they are willing to throw a hissy fit and not accept the outcome of an election. Are you kidding me with this?

We have lost our minds in this country and I cannot believe – and I don’t mean to offend anyone – but I cannot believe people are buying into this whole thing for such a morally bankrupt charlatan. Wow. If they weren’t going to accept results for anyone, you would think that it would be for a war hero or a deeply religious man who walked the walk. But no. We have lost our moral center in this country and are believing lies from a man we know is a liar: http://www.aol.com/article/news/2016/10/21/poll-clinton-won-last-debate-53-of-republicans-would-accept-e/21589055/

Drunk Moonbat Mistakes Environmentalist Meeting for Trump Rally, Vandalizes 30 Cars

Hereโ€™s one for the โ€œyou canโ€™t make this stuff upโ€ file.

In Amherst Junction, Wisconsin, a meeting of the Tomorrow River Conservation Club was disrupted when Christina Ferguson went on a parking lot rampage with a family-size jar of peanut butter. Ferguson had mistaken the meeting for a Donald Trump rally.

    http://www.redstate.com/jimjamitis/2016/10/21/drunk-moonbat-mistakes-environmentalist-meeting-trump-rally-vandalizes-30-cars/

This is one for you have to be kidding me file – Amherst Junction is the home of my Grandpa’s sister and brother-in-law my Great Aunt Stell and Great Uncle Ash Morris. He was born there and when they married she moved onto the farm his parents and grandparents had farmed.

They were married for over 50 years and died within a month of each other, he at 91 and she at 81. He was a quiet and serious man who would probably have disapproved of the whole idea of someone behaving like this. She on the other hand, a lively woman who complimented his seriousness perfectly would have had a good laugh. They never had children but were adored by all of us grandchildren.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

Just so you know this behavior is typical of the Amherst Junction I knew many years ago. Other places may burn buildings, break windows and loot. In Amherst Junction you had best be prepared to have peanut butter smeared on your car.

Editor’s note: In a tweet, WikiLeaks urged supporters to “stop taking down the US internet,” saying Julian Assange is still alive and the organization is still publishing. Earlier this week, Ecuador’s government said it partly restricted internet access for Assange, who has been living at the country’s London embassy. WikiLeaks has been publishing emails connected to Hillary Clinton campaign, and U.S. officials believe Russia is tied to the hack. Officials have not said who is responsible for Friday’s attacks on Dyn’s DNS infrastructure, which is causing widespread disruption. However, an intelligence official told NBC News it is unlikely these are state sponsored attacks. – Stephanie

Well-written article about sexual abuse and the current GOP
“Republicans who have lamented the Clintonian proclivity to malign women are now defending the same activities because โ€ฆ well, they idolize power or their own strategic cleverness. Trump, like the preacher, is too important to abandon. We have become what we said we despised.

The deep disgust for Hillary Clinton that drives so many evangelicals to support Trump realize now โ€” only now after all these years โ€” itโ€™s all been a facade. The โ€œreligious right,โ€ which Iโ€™ve defended my whole life, abandoned the posture of โ€œfamily valuesโ€ when they had the chance to gain a seat at the table.

Hereโ€™s the truth. The GOP once was alive but is now dead. It confuses me to hear the values preached from the podium but ignored in real life; it feels odd to just repurpose a political party into an extension of the trump Empire without acknowledging the values which had so recently dwelled there.

My party โ€” which shouldโ€™ve been a place of a certain set of values โ€” now shelters an abuser. Iโ€™m thinking of this when the GOP presses against me and asks me to close my eyes just one more time.”

Our support for either party enables them to disrespect and refuse to protect us.
