Questions, Questions, Questions *Open Thread*

That is what today brings as the news this morning is all about the flight that went down in the French Alps. My thoughts and prayers are with those who perished, as well as their families and friends. As the morning has gone on, there have been more questions than answers, reports from earlier in the day now seem in question. The recovery team has found some of the debris, and hopefully we will know more soon. In the meantime, prayers for those lost and for their loved ones, as well as for the safety of the recovery team are as much as we can do for now.

On a personal note, while I know that flying is still one of the safest modes of travels, that my partner, who is in CA as I type, flies so much is a little disconcerting. Just had to put that out there. When we spoke about the crash this morning, she was at an airport, getting ready to get on another plane. Uh, yeah, it’s like that…

But there are more questions swirling around today, and Sharyl Attkisson has a BOATLOAD of them for all the players involved in the recovery of Hillary Clinton’s emails, beginning with questions for Clinton herself. From Attkisson’s site:

[…] 1. Detail the processes you followed to ensure your Benghazi-related emails were lawfully provided as a result of Congressional subpoenas and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. Detail any searches you conducted and materials you provided. (No emails were ever provided pursuant to my 2012 Benghazi email request.)

2. Provide names of all people involved in and/or with knowledge of your email practices as secretary of state. This includes, but is not limited to, technicians. Also provide a list with all people you consulted about the private server and email practices.

3. Provide a chain of custody accounting and chronology for all servers, email accounts, mobile devices (which as smartphone, blackberries and laptop computers) you used, whether or not under your own name, after you were nominated to become secretary of state. Provide all documents, including but not limited to, invoices, notes, emails and other records associated with the establishment and use of the servers and accounts.

4. Provide a list of any messages, such as text messages and instant messages, sent or received as secretary of state on any device used while secretary of state. […]

That is just the beginning of questions Attkisson has for Clinton, and I urge you to go read them all. But she doesn’t stop there. She has some for Attorney General Eric Holder, too:

[…] Your office has been quoted as saying that you used at least three email aliases as attorney general. But your office has not answered the question: have you ever used private accounts, servers, other aliases or email addresses as attorney general? Please answer this question and provide details.

I’d like to know the answer to that question too, wouldn’t you?

But you can’t have questions for the Secretary of State and the Attorney General without having some for the man at the top, President Obama:

1. Since Clinton claims her practices did not violate any rules, laws or guidelines; but other authorities differ on this point, do you plan to issue immediate guidance to explain what is and isn’t appropriate? If not, why?

2. What is your position on whether Clinton’s email and documents practices, as known to date, violated any rules, laws or guidelines?

3. Have you conducted queries to identify whether other federal agencies and agency officials are using practices such as the ones Clinton used? If so, what are the results? If not, why?

4. Do you believe all federal employees have the same right to use personal servers, email addresses and aliases for convenience purposes or other reasons? If so, then do you believe all federal employees have no obligation to maintain the records because (using Clinton’s reasoning) the email recipients should have saved them? […] (Click here to read the rest.)

Like with Clinton, there are more for the Commander in Chief. I am not holding my breath that we WILL get answers to these excellent questions, but I sure as hell hope we get SOME answers. What is more, I hope that there are some consequences, repercussions, comeuppances, for the actions of Clinton, Holder, and Obama. Hey, hope springs eternal.

Finally, I have a question. Who the hell were the FOUR who voted FOR the establishment of these “tribunals” in Texas. From BizPacReview:

[…] That’s because the 5-4 vote supported a proposed state law that was inspired by the establishment of a Muslim tribunal in Irving that supporters say is meant only to help local Muslims use Islamic laws to settle domestic disputes, but critics say is the first step to getting Sharia law implemented in Texas..

[…]

Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne is an outspoken opponent of the Muslim tribunal and the possibility of Sharia law in the United States, but stressed during Thursday’s council meeting that the ordinance did not mention Sharia by name, or any other religion.

The point, she said, was that American and state civil laws reign supreme – and no foreign law has standing.
[…] (Click here to read the rest.)

Well, thank heavens for Mayor Duyne, but seriously – who are the four who voted FOR this extra-legal tribunal setup for the Muslim community?? Are they not paying attention? Are they not watching what is going on in the world? Maybe they should ask someone like Ayaan Hirsi Ali her thoughts on this subject, especially given her recent comments about there not just being a “few rotten apples…(but the) entire basket…” Hey, they don’t even have to read. They can watch the interview Megyn Kelly had with Ayaan Hirsi Ali Monday night:

Seriously – it is just mind boggling that so many people continue to placate, capitulate, and attempt to appease groups who want to act outside the realm of our laws. Enough already.

Any questions? Answers? It’s your turn now. This is an Open Thread.

    I agree Amy,
    Enough already!!! 👿

  2. kenoshamarge Says:

I also agree – enough is enough. And with that any person with a care for the truth should laugh in the face of any politician, left or right, that calls this a nation of laws. We are no such thing anymore.

Many administrations have flouted the law in one way or another. This one has raised it to an art form. A disgusting art form.

This would not be possible without the connivance, contrivance and corruption of our national media. The few lonely voices crying out the truth do not in any way make up for the many who care nothing for the truth or for laws.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

      Thanks, y’all.

It is enough already, isn’t it? And Marge, you hit the nail on the head – this Administration has elevated breaking the law to a new art form. What I don’t get is why so many people are willing to go along with it. WHY is that?? I just don’t get it?

And I don’t get how incredibly short sighted so many Americans are. No doubt, this is an impact from the current Educational system in which it is all abt FEELINGS and not learning how to THINK for oneself (a generalization I know, but too true in too many instances). It is truly disconcerting. What kind of country will we be leaving our grandchildren??

    • kinthenorthwest Says:

It is really scary what happened to our country and where our country seems to be headed. And Why the H3LL does Sharia Law even come up in our country???
In my neighborhood I have people who are using the empty lot next to me as a dump. Have been dealing with Code Enforcement on it for 4 years now. They couldn’t do anything without absolute proof, but mean while she would talk to my neighbors about not dumping.
Last week I caught my neighbor and took pictures of him. He informs me that everyone else is doing it and so what. Hmmm where I have I heard that before…Oh yea the government and politicians!!. If someone else did it, then its OK to do it, even if its breaking the law. They setting great examples aren’t they?
Next boner…Code Enforcement talks to my neighbor in pictures on Friday. My neighbor admits to doing it but didn’t know it was wrong..Again hmmmm, where have I heard that before–Government and politicians.
Oh well!! yesterday i called the owner of the property. They asked for the pics. I send them yesterday and got a response this morning asking if I knew who…Hopefully someone will be held responsible, unlike what is happening with too many of our government officers.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

That is a great question. How and WHY do these communities think they can skirt our laws? Because they are essentially being told they can, apparently. They see what is happening with our Southern borders, they know how Obama is relaxing the laws, so why not push for Sharia here? It is really astonishing.

As for your situation, that has to be unbelievably frustrating. What in the world does it take for these officials to DO THEIR JOBS??? It makes no sense to me. I hate you are having to deal with that, and I sure hope you get some resolution of this and SOON.

    • kenoshamarge Says:

great image about Obama and “rule of law”

  3. piper Says:

Can you imagine the screaming and tantrums, the liberals will throw when they have live to under sharia law. Reality is a lot different from their close minded ‘liberalism’ that they spout.

    • piper Says:

Can you see Kim K., Izzy Azealia and Lady Gaga along with the other barely dressed ladies flouting their bodies and exhibiting the outrageous behavior they display here under sharia.

      • kinthenorthwest Says:

Piper OK — Now that is funny!..Almost every single female Hollywood star would be stoned…
Strangely I just realized that Michelle is seldom dressed very Provocatively. Sometimes shorts and pedal pushers but nothing like shows a lot skin like the red carpet ladies. However she really doesn’t have the figure for that type of attire either.

      • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

You said it, Piper – they would go BALLISTIC if these laws were enforced upon them. Though maybe thent hey would finally realize that maybe, just maybe, all this capitulation was a stupid thing to do. Great point!

I already liked Shailene Woodley of “Insurgent” fame, but I like her even more now. What a backbone she has, as well as being articulate, and her own woman no matter the attacks she has gotten from feminists (or what passes for them these days). And she is right – often, women, particularly feminists, are our own worst enemies: http://www.westernjournalism.com/angry-feminist-backlash-not-enough-get-young-hollywood-star-change-views/

  5. kinthenorthwest Says:

Just read over at “Think Progress” that the house is planning on a Mass Deportation Bill!
I truly pray that the House follows through. Jeb says we can’t afford to deport them. I say we can’t afford not to. deport Illegals.
Currently we spent a Few Hundred Billion a year on Illegals and that is not counting the Few Hundred Billion a year we spend on the destruction done by the Criminal activities of Illegals.
Yes it has been done before, and it was not nice. Yet how many of us would be nice to a criminal who breaks into/ invades our home. ( look up “Operation Wetback” for how it was done before– http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Wetback)
Here is a snippet from the article.
The House’s Newest Immigration Plan Is Mass Deportation
The House Judiciary Committee is taking up a bill this week that would make felons out of the vast majority of undocumented immigrants overnight.
this bill would, among other provisions:

Turn the civil penalty of being in the country without authorization into a criminal one, making felons out of the vast majority of the undocumented population overnight. (Secs. 315 and 316)
Make immigration agents out of all state and local law enforcement officials (Sec. 102), opening the door to the types of racial profiling problems that stood at the heart of bills like Arizona’s S.B. 1070.
Overturn state TRUST Acts, passed by states like California to limit the damages from excessive immigration enforcement on otherwise law-abiding immigrants. (Secs. 114 and 115)
Reinstate the problematic Secure Communities program that had been ended with the DHS directives, and pump it full of steroids: DHS would be required to detain any immigrant picked up by states and localities, rather than having the discretion to consider the merits of the individual’s case. (Sec. 108)
Remove the possibility of any affirmative relief, such as deferred action or withholding of removal, for many immigrants, even when they have compelling reasons, such as family unity, to remain in the country (Secs. 201 and 603).

To “Tweet” or not to “Tweet” ought to be a question people in government consider before making fools of themselves. Deleting the Twitter account when facts come to light is another bad idea not to mention cowardly. Investigating rumors before “Tweeting” them as fact might be a good place to start. But then “facts” mean so little these days.

The fact that Ambassador Jones is actually a diplomat and not some “donor” that needed to be paid off is particularly troubling. She also has experience in the region and still showed poor judgment. Are there NO competent people in our government anymore?

Smart Diplomacy in Action: US Ambassador to Libya Abandons Twitter After Tweeting False Bombing Casualty Info

More “smart diplomacy” from the bumbling State Department.

U.S. Ambassador to Libya Deborah K. Jones retired from Twitter on Monday after tweeting out false information on civilian casualties of a bombing raid by military forces of the internationally recognized Libyan government:

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

What in the hell is WRONG with these people?! How can they be so staggeringly ignorant and hold these kinds of positions? Just mind boggling…

  7. kenoshamarge Says:

I think the answer to the question asked in the title of this piece can safely be answered that they won’t. When ideology fails, and facts are unimportant then using the rhetoric of division is all they have left. And once more they play that tattered old race card. Disgusting and despicable makes the liberal world go round.

When Will MSM Admit Its Role in Advancing the Racialist ‘Hands Up, Don’t Shoot’ Lie?

The myth is dead. Long live the myth.

Whatever hope I had at the outset that this hour of television watching would be time well spent was dashed within seconds. The program’s anchor, Don Lemon, opened with an announcement of the “breaking news” that the body of a black man had been found hanging from a tree in Port Gibson, Mississippi. A horrific crime, the viewer was led to believe, but what were the details?

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

Yeah, I was thinking when hell freezes over. We see the treatment Capehart got for telling the truth – the narrative based on a lie is SO much more important than the truth.

  8. kenoshamarge Says:

Doncha just love it when Jonah Goldberg skewers the hypocrites and liars in the Obama Administration? Jonah’s “special” brand of humor makes many of his pieces not only worth the read but fun to read. I admit, I am a big Jonah Goldberg fan!

Washington, D.C., Comics: Dr. Ignoro vs. Bibi

The ostensible reason for the breakdown in relations is that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won re-election by saying things the White House didn’t like. “We cannot simply pretend that those comments were never made,” McDonough told the crowd at J Street.

There’s nothing in the news accounts about whether the J Street audience burst into laughter or even if McDonough intended this as a laugh line. But intentional or not, it is hilarious.

For if there is one thing we know about Obama, it is this: He is very good at ignoring things he wants to ignore. If he were a superhero, he might be The Ignorator or perhaps Dr. Ignoro, complete with a cape, a giant “I” on his chest and his signature blinders blocking out all the inconvenient bits of life.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

GREAT piece! Every time I see that idiotic statement from McDonough compared to the reaction to the Ayatollah’s “Death to America,” it highlights their hypocrisy on so many levels. And now there is all the brouhaha abt the AUDACITY of Israel’s spying which we found out abt by spying on THEM. WOW.

That Goldberg is something else – he absolutely nails it from start to finish in this piece.

  9. kenoshamarge Says:

A great Branco cartoon and then I will shut up and give someone else a chance to post something.

    • Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy Says:

GREAT cartoon, Marge! And you know I always want to hear what you have to say. I’m going to o read the Goldberg piece now. 🙂
